This is my local Michael's and I love it. The employees are really nice, the place is clean, and has almost every thing you need! They actually close ON TIME because I had issues in the past with some stores next door that close earlier. Overall I always find the things I need without any stress

Well stocked with everything for crafty projects and picture frames. Good prices when there's a sale. They added self checkouts. Tabo at checkout was very helpful and efficient.

Firstly, I placed a custom order of thread which is done to ensure you get all of the same dye lot. When I was stitching my canvas I noticed that one of my skeins was a slightly different shade than the others! I checked the rest of the skeins and found a few more that didn't match which is so disappointing. This was not an inexpensive purchase and candidly I don't know if I can trust them with another custom order. Secondly, the markup on their in store canvases is quite a lot. I saw this cute canvas in store and found the same design from the same designer through an online website and they charged a 60% markup! I understand markups as retail space is expensive and if they are ordering from a warehouse. But for a design I could buy myself online- this was nuts! Lastly, the stores is a bit dated. Needlepoint has been around for ages and so has the inventory of this store- they have some beautiful canvas but also a of more dated styles. Overall, I think I'll be looking for a new needlepoint store in the DMV because this place is Knot it.

You know that feeling when you walk into a store and feel like you are a burden to the staff? Like you aren't wanted there and/or are a nuisance? Well, that is the feeling I had from the very moment I stepped in. And, let me tell you - there are a number of similar reviews from other customers experiencing the same thing. So, the owner needs to learn about customer service, then hire the right folks and train them properly. I'm sure the owner will post a response that defends the awful staff and makes silly excuses- so I'm waiting for that :) I will never spend a penny here and would not recommend wasting any time here. Unless, of course, you love the hype of this place and want to get cute little photos to post on social media. Then, maybe this is your place!

There was a project room where they have classes. I can't speak about the value, but what I can say is my friend definitely made some purchases that day so I'm pretty sure she felt it was decently priced to make a purchase a few hours away from home. The staff were extremely helpful with just about every customer, including my friend. The store is very clean and neat and we definitely benefited from them being open later in the evening.

For the insanely cheap price of $130 dollars or so i got to have two official knitting lessons and as much sit and knit as I could possibly want. I started in September when classes started again after the summer and pretty much went to every sit and knit I was entitled too go to every sat and sun from then untill I left DC to move to Cali in June 2014. I miss sit and knit and the expertise and friendships I made at this class. I not only got my monies worth but gained even more in friendship and life long skills. I made fingerless gloves, scarves (5 in total) a bear and am now working on a bedside mat. I believe some people have had some issues below which quite frankly leave me perplexed - How can something be a scam if you get your money back from groupon? This is a one woman show, which pretty much means if something comes up then things might not happen. Thats just the way it is when you run a small business by yourself. The number of times I witnessed people coming to class not reading what they needed to bring or where they needed to meet were so numerous and somehow this was never their fault. Take responsibility for yourselves please people. You are an adult!

I wanted to continue supporting it for that reason and for its sense of community, but my experiences have been consistently disappointing. Yesterday was my final straw. I am new to sewing and come in seeking guidance on fabric selection and product education, yet nearly every visit is met with dismissive or rude customer service. The older representatives in particular often do not greet me and respond reluctantly or faintly when I ask for assistance. Help is provided, but it often feels like an inconvenience unless they are in the mood. Yesterday, when I asked a representative at the fabric counter for help understanding a product, she was short-tempered and instead told me they were closing at 5:15 p.m., despite the website listing a 7:30 p.m. closing time. The interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and disrespectful. At checkout, I asked for a bag for several small tools and fabric. The cashier said they were running low, and etc and tossed the bag at me. This type of behavior has happened on multiple visits and consistently dampens the experience. I truly wanted to like this store, but the repeated lack of basic courtesy--especially toward newer customers--has made me unwilling to return. I hope management takes these ongoing customer service issues seriously.
