I personally got the falafel sandwich and I could tell it was authentic and it was extremely tasty. For 3 combo meals and a 15% tip it was around $50 which isn't too bad for lunch. They also have a case of treats that you can purchase. There's desserts as well as hummus and other mediterranean foods. I recommend the hummus it's TO DIE FOR. One tip I have to give to this business is I saw at least 3 different people walk up to the counter asking for silverware. I could tell this was a gem when I walked in. The place was clean and filled with locals. The cashier was very friendly and asked personal questions. I went with the gyro lunch special. Ordered the chicken wrap and liked the tenderness of the meat. The environment is almost like a fast food restaurant with the way it is set up. Lots of free parking available. The prices are good, just wish they added more toppings onto the wrap like more tomatoes and lettuce. Asking for more sauce is extra. The way it came out made it look like it was missing something. Came in on a Thursday evening as I was wanting a quick gyro and had always seen a bunch of cars in the parking lot (found out it was actually for the Aldi next door, as the place was empty). The place looks like it used to be a Taco Bell or another little fast food joint. Ordered a gyro meal and it came out with 5 strips of gyro meat (see picture for clarification). The meat was okay, not a lot of flavor, the tomatoes were good, but there was hardly any tzatziki sauce on the side. The big disappointment was the pita. It was STALE, as it really dry and almost too chewy to eat. The fries were okay, but nothing particular to rave about. Some good and crisp, others a bit undercooked. The service (counter) was miserable, as the guy seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else. Prices are fair with a gyro meal running about $10 including tax. read more

We love eating here. Their Buffalo chicken sandwich and gyro are a house favorite. The fries are always piping hot and the staff is so nice and usually pretty fun to be around. Bonus points for the soda machine- it's the kind you can add flavors to your soda with. The restaurant is very clean. I ordered takeout and got a large Super Sub sandwich. The meat was very fresh, but lettuce, tomato, and onion were limp and very old tasting. They forgot to put the Italian salad dressing on it, which made the sandwich bland and uninteresting. There is not a lot of meat on this sandwich, so this is an item I won't be ordering again. This is an amazing family owned & operated business that has great service & most importantly food! They have a variety of food for all palettes. My cousin is vegan and this restaurant has so many items she can eat. Every thing is fresh & delicious. I always get the garlic chicken & carrot cake these 2 items alone are what dreams are made of! We have been regulars at Khoury's and have enjoyed the food. Unfortunately we had a bad experience today that will influence our future decisions to eat there and/or recommend Khoury's to our friends. We had purchased a Voucher through HeartlandDailyDeals/PJ Star for $8 for $16 in food. We went to have lunch and were informed that we couldn't use it to get the Gyro Special when the voucher says may not be used with any other promotion ( we read this to mean no other coupons along with the offer). We were informed that we had to buy a gyro, fries and a drink separately which came to $2 more. After we agreed to buy everything ala carte, she took the voucher and said "After all this talk, it's expired anyway". By 4 days. I explained I had surgery and we weren't able to get there before now, and that they had been paid the money, it wasn't like a regular coupon - we bought this offer for cash. She would not relent and honor the voucher. Being in a business that deals with the public myself, I certainly would never treat a customer that way and knowing that we are regulars or were...they certainly lost more than todays lunch...we will never go back which will cost them close to $30 a month we spent at their establishment not to mention the friends we've taken there. I really wanted to give this place 2 or 3 stars because the food was average to ok, but I can't. Reason is this place is listed as Mediterranean, Greek, and Lebanese. Judging it on that it is 1 star. If it was listed as American, Drunk munchie grub, Greek it would get 2 to 3 stars. Don't believe me? Click on the menu to the right and start counting. American food (chicken wings, burgers, walleye dinner, jalapeno poppers, etc) there are 38 items. Greek? 12 (most of those are versions of Gyros). 8 if you take away the 1/2 lb. tubs of hummus, etc. in the cooler you can get for $4 (probably to take back to your dorm for a useful, healthy snack). Lebanese? 2. Look guys, most bars have Gyro's on their menu and they aren't pretending to be a Mediterranean restaurant. Your choice of any Greek dish is fries, which are good mind you... but not Greek. I mean who wants to add 8 ounces of hummus because he doesn't want deep fried potatoes' as his side? Plus get penalized by upping the cost 50% because he wants something Greek in... a Greek restaurant? This shouldn't be too much to ask.... What also shouldn't be too much to ask is for unsweetened tea to be an option instead of super sugarized soda's. Lastly, the Tzatziki sauce should have some resemblance of cucumber in it, not watered down mayo like it is here. I ordered the Gyro meal. It came with a couple of slices of onions and a slice of tomato. No side tomatoes like the picture has (The framed picture of the Gyro is precious, priceless, and totally inaccurate) Meat was average to good. Pita was store bought and not screwed up. Lack of any lettuce was disappointing. Tzatziki sauce was horrible. Fries were good. Drink selection was not good (especially if you are a diabetic... then your option apparently is water) This place really needs to reconsider what it is and what it is trying to be. read more

I'm not a fan of this place. After seeing the amount of stars this place received, I decided to try it. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed. The grape leaves I ordered did not taste anything like the grape leaves I've had from in Greece. It was filled with mushy, unseasoned rice. Not only that but I decided to order one falafel just to compare it with others I've had in Peoria and it was burnt. It looked like a brick. Extremely hard and crispy. Maybe I should've read the reviews and went with the Gyro which seems like what they're known for. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because I ate all the grape leaves. I've ordered many times from Khoury's over the past few years via Dine in and Delivery and I really can't remember ever having a bad meal from them. I will admit, I usually order really toned down things like the burgers and other sandwiches they have. But all in all, they have been very consistent with their food. Nothing is ever burnt, under cooked or bland and portions are just right. When I don't want to cook and don't want to go out then I usually order from them. Oh ya! They have baklava! How can you go wrong when craving a gyro and choosing Khoury's to get it! The thicker slices of gyro meat and the spices show you that it wasn't just frozen pieces that come in a bag like many other greek restaurants in town serve. I absolutely love this place. Maybe it's the fact that you can get traditional Mid-East food like falafel or grape leaves or go for fried mac & cheese. I usually get the falafel with french fries.
