Just okay. Prices were kinda high but the sandwich was decent. Place is showing its age and not really a place I would dine in.

Great food. The red sauce is doctored to perfection. Be careful with it if you're lactose intolerant though!

The food is at least edible so it gets an extra star for that. I could have made a better sandwich with scraps from a strangers fridge.

Good spaghetti and meat sauce also makes a good torpedo "gondola" great if you have a hungry bunch and need something quick.

When we arrived, the other six people in our group were already there, having drinks and sharing bread from the basket provided at the table. We ordered our meals, and when our food arrived, I asked for some additional bread to go with my meal. I was told, rather abruptly, that there was only one basket of bread per table. What I found particularly frustrating was that there were other tables with only two people sitting at them, and they had a full basket of bread. Meanwhile, our table of eight was expected to share one basket. I even offered to pay for additional bread, but I was simply told no, and I never received any additional bread. The policy itself was disappointing, but what really bothered me was the way the situation was handled. The waitress was extremely abrasive and difficult to understand, and there was no attempt to explain the policy or offer any alternative. A simple explanation such as, "I'm sorry, we have a new policy, but you can purchase additional bread if you'd like," would have been completely different. We have traditionally enjoyed Bernardi's and have gone there about once a week, either dining in or getting carryout. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be returning. Restaurants have plenty of competition, and when you're spending your hard-earned money somewhere, you should be treated with courtesy and respect. I understand that restaurants can change their policies, even policies I may not agree with. What I don't understand or accept is being treated rudely when simply asking for something as basic as a piece of bread with my meal. It wasn't the bread that ultimately made me decide not to return. It was the way I was treated.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and shortly after we were seated in the dining room area. The dining room was very spacious and had comfortable booths and open tables. The front room appeared large but apparently there is an even larger room towards the back where they accommodate larger parties. We know this because we saw them as they were leaving and it surprised us. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She took our drink orders and gave us some extra time to look over the menu. We decided to order a 16" Mighty Meat and a 14" cheese and sausage. We also got a family pack of bread sticks which included 10pcs and two sauces, we got nacho cheese. As we waited on the food we enjoyed looking at the decor in the dining room and having nostalgia over the items. The bread sticks came out first. The sauce was okay and the bread sticks were not great. Dough, dry and bland. We wouldn't order them on the next visit. Our pizzas came out and they were perfect. Thin crust. Crispy crust. The right amount of sauce to cheese and very generous portions of meat. Everyone enjoyed the pizza very much.

Review Visit: April 18th, 2016…read more This place definitely garners the attention it deserves. On one of my many trips (with a friend that didn't like being in photos), we stopped for pizza at the recommendation of many people we knew. We walked in on a sunny afternoon with empty bellies and high expectations. We were greeted by a friendly staff and a post-lunch winding down of the restaurant. There were a handful of employees who stopped in for a bite to eat but they all were wrapping up to go back to work. We were seated at a table and given menus and some waters. My friend and I have similar taste buds, so we quickly settled on the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. If memory serves me right, I got my half of the pizza with jalapenos. I do love me a bit of a kick to my food. With the lunch rush past us, we got great service as we were really the only ones in there after about 10 minutes. Our waitress was prompt with everything and just great. It wasn't long before our pizza was brought out to us and boy did it look good. It's not stranger on this blog that I love pizza and Garner's was great. Each bite was full of flavor and each slice being exactly what our bellies needed before we started exploring Bloomington. About the only complaint I would have is that Garner's is in a weird location. It seems to be a newly-built area and I am not entirely too familiar with Morton but it seems to be in a weird location. When my GPS was taking us here, I had doubts the address was correct... but I am glad that I was proven wrong. Garner's was worth the hesitation while driving there.

Review Visit: December 29th, 2015…read more Palanza's was Plainza's. Palanza's seems to be well-regarded among people I know from the Washington area. With that in mind, I went with a group of friends to try it out one evening. We came. We ate. We left reeking of grease. That just about sums up my experience there. We showed up for dinner and tried a variety of things. We all ordered something different and shared some appetizers. What we all picked off the menu was lost to time. But I do remember chomping down my food and having to tell my mouth that there was indeed some food being consumed since there wasn't much flavor in my sandwich. I can't speak for my friends and I know asking them about their experience today would lead to a lot of "I don't remember"s. So, I am going to chalk it up to maybe having an off day there, either on my behalf or the chefs behalf. Either way, I won't forget the stench of my coat after we left. As soon as we got in my car to leave (it was just Tim and I in my car), I could instantly smell the reek of grease on my coat. It was fairly strong and made me gag a bit as I was taking Tim home. Once I got home, I instantly put my coat in the hamper for immediate cleaning. It's amazing that I don't remember what sandwich I ordered but the heavy grease smell on my coat is a memory that is clear as day. Second chances are something I believe in. I am willing to give Palanza's another go should the opportunity arise.
