I have always loved this spa. The staff are so very friendly, including the owner. I love where it is located and the parking is free and in a safe area. This is one of the spas in town that actually feels like a spa. The atmosphere is so peaceful with darkened hallways and beautiful lighting. If you are having multiple services done then they have a room to slip on your robe and lock your items in a locker. I have gotten several massages since COVID started and I will say that this spa takes the highest precautions. I actually was disappointed that the tea wasn't served due to this, but I am sure when the pandemic is over it will be back. The serenity oil blend is fantastic and made by a lovely woman named Stacey. I had a massage and a facial today and enjoyed both very much. Worst massage I have ever had and only not positive massage review I have written outside of one massage envy which was charging me membership fees illegally after canceling multiple times and kept doing it despite interventions... you get the point. I think some of this could be related to the particular massage therapist but some not. It is a really beautiful spa the nicest I have been to in Wilmington but it smelled so stale, the beds were moist and did not seem clean and it was COLD and the bed was not heated. Also, it is on you who they hire. My preference is to have a female therapist and to be fair I really should have specified this when making the appointment or even asked but I didn't do that's on me. Admittedly I have had so many massages in my life if I had to guess upwards of 100 in my 30 years of life. Many of the times the nicer spas will ask your preference of a male or female or you make the appointment online. For example another spa in Wilmington I was looking to make an appointment and they asked if it was okay if it was a man and I said I would just rather not. However I have had a few massages my a male therapist and typically it's uncomfortable for me for the first few minutes or so and then it doesn't matter at all because you are relaxed and I'm over it. This was not my experience at all. It was as gen z would say "a vibe". He would NOT stop talking during the massage itself. That is my absolute pet peeve. There are only two maybe three massages I have had where they talk during the massage outside of asking if the pressure is okay in the first few minutes. It should be that you are so relaxed that you can't respond. He asked unnecessary questions like "How long have you been having headaches?" "Are you cold, you seem very cold to the touch and laughs..." while massaging my clavicle like that's not even a question. Asking how it's going every few minutes is just terrible. He also did this neck stretch that to be fair he asked if it was okay but it literally pulled some kind of muscle in my neck on the right side. Massages can cause some pain afterwards but this is different. No business doing a stretch like that forcing your neck forward especially when my only complaint was chronic migraines. Also, he massaged my inner thighs with light pressure. I have only had one other massage in my life that did that but it was by a girl to be fair but it felt more intentional. Also, I had scheduled a deep tissue massage and it 100% was not that. It was a Swedish massage with all those standard techniques. Also, the massage I scheduled was supposed to be lavender. We did aromatherapy at the beginning and end and it was in the oil. I love lavender. I have had all different brands of lavender essential oil and lavender scented all kinds of stuff, this did not smell like lavender at all. I told the lady at the front desk that and she said it was and that's totally fine maybe it was a different type of lavender or some kind of mix. I almost suspect some kind of CBD oil but that's me being overly paranoid at this point just because it smelled a little like that but I did not ask for that and did not want that at all. In conclusion. I really recommend other spas/massage places. I've been to 5 other ones in Wilmington and all were better experiences than this I just went here because I had a gift card. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I booked treatments that should have been 2 hrs. 15 min. and received 1 hr. 50 min! The reflexology... not so much. It was really just massage. The Shirahdahra... absolutely not! It was a warm oil hair treatment and not done properly. I could have spent $10 at Walgreens for the same thing. On the plus side, my therapist was very nice and did a good job with the massage. She was very pleasant and had some good technique. I was a massage therapist for 20 years and owned two private spas, so my review is based on my own knowledge, skills, and p.ractices. If someone books time... give them their full time. Every massage is actually 5 min. off top and end for intake/undressing/dressing, In other words, a 60 min. massage is really 50 min. of hands on time...so a 2 1/4 hr. treatment should be 2 hr. 5 min. of hands on!!! And if you are going to provide a service...you better actually know how to do it! Don't assume that you can charge top dollar and bet on your clients being stupid and not knowing what something should be. Big mistake!!!! We got a gift certificate for a couples full body massage and it was great. Granted, this is the first spa I have been to and the first full body massage I have received, but it was amazing. The staff was quite courteous to our needs and made us (and especially me) feel very welcome and not awkward in the least bit. Seth was thorough and really paid attention to the areas the needed work. I was so impossibly relaxed-- he was exactly what I needed! My boyfriend had Truman, and he sounds like he is just as great. Granted, this review is a bit late. I went with my girlfriend for a couples massage early this year. Here's the breakdown. You get put in a private changing room (normal) You put on a robe and sandals (normal) You go to the couples room with two massage tables (normal) Decorations are nice, environment is pleasant so worthy of more stars right???? Well we were there for a massage............I got a new girl, and my girlfriend got the manager/owner???? So my girl was terrified......she either had no idea what she was doing or she was too nervous to do her job effectively.........It was painful and uncomfortable. I think they cater to women who have no clue what a massage should be like but that is just speculation. I'm generally such a go with the flow type of guy and nothing really gets to me but the blahhh experience here was review worthy and maybe they have improved over the last year but by the looks of the other reviews I think i'm amongst others with a similar experience. DO NOT GO TO KI SPA!!! This is the WORST place I have ever been. I go to a spa just about every week. The massage therapist have no clue what they are doing. I was amazed on how poorly my therapist paid attention. The nail techs are in a world that's not here and they cut off my nails I was heart broken, my facial was terrifying and they can not even wax. I had patches of hair on my legs. They messed up my eyebrows. I had a wedding I was getting ready for and if it would have been my wedding I would have blown my top. Stay away from this spa. I live in N.Y.C& I had a gift card from spaweek.com. I was excited to find out that this spa took my gift card from spaweek.com. I came to Wilmington to surprise my mother for her birthday for Spa services. My mother had a wonderful experience here she enjoyed the ambience of the Spa it's located in a nice area. Truman performed the body massage on my mother and Angela did the facial on my mother. Truman & Angela were very professional & friendly. I must say my mother is a picky person but overall she enjoyed her experience and didn't have nothing to complain about. I could see a small difference in my mother face when I arrived to pick her up from her facial. She even brought some products from here. So since my mother was happy with her experience. I booked this place for the day before my wedding for myself and the girls in my wedding party for massages and manicures. My manicurist was really off seeming, nutty. I told her that I'd been growing my nails out for months for my wedding photos and she proceeded to cut two of them completely off. I looked down in horror and saw that she had mangled nails of her own with horribly painted nail polish, like a 4 year old had painted them. I went into the lobby to ask the people up front what was wrong with their manicurist, and they admitted that one of their regular people had called in sick, so they called a temp to fill in, and they had never worked with her before. This is who they chose to give to the BRIDE for her manicure. I had a complete breakdown. They ushered me into the back and when I kept asking them where my mother was, they ignored me. Turns out, they had brought her up front to charge her in full for all of their services. They wanted to get her to pay before she saw how upset I was. They ruined the day before my wedding without apology and charged us full price. I had to hide my fingernails in my wedding photos. I sent the manager a letter telling he/she how upset I was about the whole ordeal and never heard a word back. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place, they obviously don't care about fixing a mistake, they'd rather cover it up and move on. read more

I went for a massage and had a pretty lousy experience; I will not be returning. I took a chance on a male masseuse, which I rarely do, and paid the price. While I was in the waiting room I heard the receptionist and an employee bad mouthing a customer for being late. That same employee was my masseuse! He led me to the room to get changed and seemed kind of off, he definitely didn't give off a calm, chill vibe like most masseuses. During the massage there wasn't any music! At the very least there could have been some nature noises. Instead, I had to listen to the guy mouth breath incessantly into my ear. It was like your worst public transit experience, but now you're naked... Oh, and the blanket they put on me looked and felt like a velvet curtain from a theater. I treated myself with a facial and massage for my birthday on Oct. 3rd. The facial was such a disaster (technician was very unprofessional and unsanitary). I spoke to the manager the next day they were open. She said she would look into it and call me the next day and "make things right". I never received a phone call. Very nice looking decor in a nice part of town. It would be a very nice place if they didn't pay their massage therapists $10 and hour when charging $70 or $80 for a massage. When you pay people so little most of the time you will not have top notch therapists. The massages are cookie cutter routines and not really done for certain problems that people have. Very disappointed at most recent visit (last week) to Ki Spa. I used a gift certificate received from my friends as a retirement gift and opted for the microderm facial and deep tissue massage. I was told upon making the appointment that I would have Kenya for the facial and Stef (male) for massage but was given someone else for both services. Upon arrival I was told it was the facial therapist's first time ever giving a microderm facial. She was very nice but here I am...5 days later...with raw skin on one side of my lower chin. When I went back into Ki Spa over the weekend to show and ask about the section of my face that was still raw, I was told to put neosporin on that area and "it should be okay in a few more days". The massage was okay but certainly not the deep tissue massage I had requested. I will probably not be returning to Ki Spa...especially since there are several other better options here in Wilmington. read more

I scheduled a couples massage by calling due to the website being down. I spoke with Lindsey that told me one cost of a 90 min couples massage. I asked her 3 times about that price because it didnt sound correct being so cheap but she reassured me that it was the correct price. So a few days later the website comes up and it was a huge differnce in the price. I called and spoke with the manager about the inconvience and all she did was offer $10.00 off. Me and my friend was very excited about the day because we are visiting the city and thought it would be nice to do this spending time together. After going to several spas this was the most awful experience before I even made it to the appt. But the manager told me that the young lady that scheduled the appointment was new and confused about the prices. So if I would have went to the appointment not knowing that I was misinformed on the price I would have been really pissed. And Im still pissed because they didnt offer or do anything to try to compensate the aggrevation that I was caused. I had to change plans and try to find another spa for a couples massage to keep my weekend somewhat in order to be wonderful as planned. read more

if i could give the owner / manager no stars i would. i have been to many different day spas and this one constantly rates below par. the first time here had a massage the therapist was mediocre at best. the spa itself is very nice and comfortable. the second time i had a gift certificate. when i called to set up my appointment the girl on the phone said that the certificate which said on the front good for one one hour massage on it would only cover half of the service. after going around and around i was correct and should receive a massage and only have to pay gratuity. this therapist is much better and if she is smart she will leave this place and go to another salon that has better management. once the massage was over and management was done trying to up-sale overpriced items from their store it was time ot pay my bill. my bill contained a 10.00 fee that i had no idea what it was for. i talked to the owner and he informed me that his price had gone up since the certificate was purchased. i told him i shouldn't have to pay any additional fees and that i should have been informed of this when i showed up. the owner was very pom-pus and rude and i recommend going somewhere where the staff are glad your a customer. read more
