I paid $65 for the worst fill-in I have ever had and ever seen in my life. I voiced my feelings over the nails ( you can see in the pictures here), and was still charged. Salon: Ocean Nails and Spa Address: 1018 N Lake Park Blvd, Unit 106, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 Nail Technician: Jennifer Owner: Mylee My daughter received nail services at this salon and sustained multiple nicks that broke the skin. Despite the open cuts, nail products were applied over the broken skin, and adhesive was left under the nail, raising concerns regarding hygiene and safety. When concerns were raised, the response from the technician was dismissive. The owner acknowledged concern about possible infection but stated a refund would be delayed. The owner will charge you for breathing if she could. A typical spa manicure in nyc , downtown, is almost 1.5 hours and you get treated amazing. You don't pay like a piece meal menu pricing and never over $120. I left there last weekend paying over $100 to change my Polish and she charged $20-40 to remove Polish or soak gel in acetone while I leaked all over everything. Got nails done using regular polish too. To get gel polish some days it's $30 other days it's $40 on top of the price of the actual manicure and pedicure which rained $40-$65. They only use oil for massage and no lotions- at times this will get on clothing so do not wear anything you love and if you have leather seats in car be aware not to lean arm on armrest. To wax lip it's like $10-15 again it depends on the day. That's ludicrous and the best is the manicure/pedicure for kids (and even without polish) it's the same price as an adult lol. My friend said her daughter wanted to keep the tips she had put on to stay longer vs cut and because she wanted them kept long and "it required more polish to polish them" lol she had to pay $40-50 more. The saddest part is it's conveniently located on CB and some of the ladies doing the nails/feet are uber talented (the stars are for the workers because they are good when not being made to charge extra). So while the owners may not care about pricing because tourists will pay them they forget the locals who would be loyal if they didn't do the tourist trap thing to locals too. read more

this place was outrageous!! i will never spend my money there again! the woman who did my nails cut my finger open while doing my nails! when i told her she hurt me and showed her, she said "you'll be okay" i paid $95 for just a full set with one full color and coffin shaped. i'm absolutely livid. read more

I went to this nail salon to get my nails redone as they desperately needed it. I paid $165 for these nails, they are not the same length on both hands as well as my thumb nail was cut way too short and is now lumpy. I went to Ocean Nails this morning for a pedicure, I chose a $40 one and used regular polish, not gel. They charged me $60 and insisted that I asked for the $60 pedicure. I was here on vacation and needed to get my nails done. I went in and recieved a dip manicure. The salon was clean and the staff was very nice. The next day the entire dip manicure feel off of one of my fingernails. I figured I would go get it fixed the next day. When I went in 2 days later (3 days after the service) 7 total nails had come off and the 3 nails that were still on were lifting around the edges and would also need to be removed. At the end of the service to fix my nails I was told that I would need to pay for a full new manicure and that the last one did not stick since my nails may have had too much oil (I get dip that lasts 3 weeks when I am home). The gel manicure may be fine, but I would not reccomend the dip manicure. read more

The most relaxing experience ever!! Ken does my pedicures and I just love it! So relaxing and he does the most awesome foot massages! He is the only one that can massage my feet without sending pain down the top of my feet where nerves are - he knows how to get me to relax completely to his expert care. Beautiful nail salon located right beside Publix for convenience. The pedicure chairs are huge with a lot more detailed massaging for your arms and back. Looks very new, clean, and has the most beautiful color scheme. (I love blue so much) The older lady that greeted us and seated us was also working on a client and did both the males pedicures in our party. She was very sweet with short hair with blonde highlights. Here for spring break and this salon seemed fairly priced with $25 basic pedicures and $15 basic manicures. We got 3 basic pedicures with 1 French manicure ($30) and 1 basic manicure for my man. The manicure could've been better but she did well in cleaning the dirty from under his fingernails. He still had some skin that could've been cut off around his nail but she was a nice nail tech. She said it was her first day. Overall it was a great experience even though there weren't many nail techs but it was a Wednesday evening around 4-5pm. It started to get busier after we left. read more

The decor of the salon is nice and we were helped quickly but the dip manicure I got is awful. uneven edges, chipping after only a few days, she didn't take the time to trim my nails properly so they were very rough around the edges. also she was very rough with my cuticles and now I've got several hangnails. definitely not worth the price. my daughter got gel polish manicure and they looked cute but she said they were also rough with her nails and cuticles. read more

$35 for a regular manicure is an outrage. I pay $40 for gel in Brooklyn. The space is nice, so are the women working there, but the manicure is mediocre at best. You can see lines very clearly on each nail that it wasn't covered the same way on the second coat. Just not done with care. read more

Great experience. Clean, cool, and relaxing environment. Best massage chairs I've ever had at a nail salon. They bring the nail color options to look through as you wait your turn. So it was nice to sit and relax and look at colors against your skin. They bring you a bottle of water too. We both got an ocean mani/pedi, mom got a special thing done to her nails- they did an awesome job on both of us. They are thorough and our nails look amazing. The only reason I went to this salon instead of my normal one is because they have kid chairs and I went with my friend and her daughter. They were amazing with her and the pedicure was ok, nothing special, but ok. Thats the only good part. I picked out my color of dip, a pale bubble gum pink color. After the second finger got dipped I looked down at my nails and was shocked how dark pink it was compared to what I showed them. They checked the number and it was right but then acted like they couldnt do anything about it becuase they had already started. She assured me she would fix it. I should have just gone with the dark pink because she tried to put a pale pink gel coat on top and it looked horrible even after the second coat. They painted gel all over my cuticles trying to cover up the dark pink. There was also pink dip powder left all over my skin. I had come in here with my girlfriend and another couple for a pedicure while on vacation. The gentleman working took good care of my girlfriend's feet and spent quite awhile doing the ocean pedicure. The other couple also seemed to have been given the total duration of their pedicure. However, I was left sitting for awhile in the massage chair and then finally another woman comes over to start my pedicure like 20 minutes afterwards everyone else's had begun and somehow mine is still finished at the same time everyone else is done. Three of us went in for a vacation mani pedi. The staff was ok but the quality of work was the worst I have ever had. I teach yoga and get a mani pedi monthly. Two of us who had gel coats and polish were horrible. Half the mail didn't have polish and polish all over the skin. Secondly, one of us has a horrible infection in his fingernail. Thirdly it was over 325$ (not including tip) for a horrible experience. We tried calling several times to speak with the owner, but they have avoided us each time. I got a classic mani-pedi and while the pedi was fine (not special), it was rushed with very little massage and no lotion on my legs after the scrub. The REAL problem was the manicure where my thumb got sliced right away. it has been 4 hours and it is still bleeding under my bandage. The lady was apologetic and I realize accidents happen but I didn't want her to continue with clippers or cuticle scissors and told her so.
