The treatment room is dark and calm with glowing salt lamps, a fish aquarium and relaxing music. You lay in a soft reclining lazy-boy with a blanket and eye-mask, and zone for the most part. Being my first reflexology treatment, I went in with an open mind, however I was surprised to find it COULD be painful at times. Lule has great hands! She knows the pressure points very well and knows how to apply it, so be in tune with what you can tolerate and communicate your needs. Even if I felt a bit of pain, it was because i NEEDED it! I never realized how tense my feet muscles were, and I could definitely sense where the pressure points connected to corresponding parts of my body. I felt awesome afterward, and continued to visit with Jaime and Lule after the session was over. This place is the real thing. Great customer service, the best therapy, and scheduling is very easy. I plan to schedule a full body massage next and I can't wait! I've been going to the same masseuse for three years and must say, "Sorry dear, if you miss me, I'll be going to Avalonian from now on". A total of 140 cash for the massage. She tells me that I didn't tip enough, that I should tip 25%. I told her that this is gratuity, and as a hairstylist myself I would never hound someone for what they can tip or "expect" a certain amount. She was very rude to me and cold and basically said goodbye. What happens next is next level. The owner runs outside and I'm thinking maybe she will apologize. She accuses me of not giving her the $100 bill. She said I only paid $40. I reassured her that I paid. Then Mary comes out frazzled with all the money in her hand and I can see the 100 bill on the bottom of the stack as she runs out.
