New obsession unlocked…read more Picked up to-go from Latin Bowl in Palm Harbor (Crunch Fitness plaza) and WOW... consider us officially hooked. As a Crunch member, I got 20% off (already winning ). I ordered the chicken bowl with brown rice, all the fixings (minus jalapeños), and my husband got the pork bowl with white rice. Somewhere along the line his bowl turned spicy --but honestly, no regrets because it was that good. These bowls were STACKED. Like... "why is this takeout bag so heavy?" stacked. Every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh, like it was prepped five minutes ago just for us. You can actually taste the freshness, and that's rare. Everything was super flavorful, perfectly cooked, and ridiculously satisfying. We finished eating and immediately agreed: This is our new go-to spot. My last complaint is that the restaurant was extremely warm. We all were on the verge of breaking out in a sweat. For those prices, invest in some sort of better air conditioning. They have been there for over 20 years according to the person I spoke with, which in a plaza not thriving says a lot. The prices were very affordable and all the meats were warm throughout (sadly I have had many Cubans with some meat still being cold even though pressed) but I would say that I would have liked the sandwich pressed just a little longer to make more of a crispy bread. Other than that, we enjoyed our lunch and are happy to have found a new location so close to my parents for when my Mom gets her Cuban cravings. :)
