This place is amazing! Anyone who knows me, knows I love me some Jamaican food, mon! I was so happy I found this place right before a weekend vacation to Tarpon Springs/Clearwater. It ended up being the first place we ate for lunch as we arrived. There is a decent amount of parking (tip: there is additional parking in the back) The restaurant is huge and can easily hold a party, which supposedly happens on Saturday nights. The decor and smells transport me right back to the island. The service was also spectacular...shout out to our server, the owners son. He is very humble and has outstanding customer service skills. Now onto the food! Literally everything we ordered was amazing and tasted great. The Jerk chicken was cooked to perfection. It had the right amount of spices and was really tender. But the oxtails stole the show. I haven't had oxtails in over a decade and a half, and these were amazing. The sauce was so good that I was putting spoonfuls on my rice even after the meat was done. The rice was good and the steamed cabbage tasted really fresh. There was even a special sauce provided that is made by the owner, which is like a family recipe that is a purée of fresh vegetables! This is a hidden gem !!! Literally hidden. Finding the door is a small challenge but well worth it !! The service is good , the food comes out very fast , and the prices good. Hubby had the jerk chicken which he loved and would not share. My fav was the oxtail. We both had the cabbage and rice/peas. Cabbage we waited a few min for as they made more. Well worth the wait. Rice and peas the rice was cooked to perfection. Not gummy or under cooked. The brown stew is not as spicy as I'm used to but it still was delish. We will return. I literally had no clue this place existed until i signed up for a T-Mobile food app. I only thought tarpon springs was mostly Greek or like seafood. I went and cannot wait to try their other items esp the jerk pork. The beef was good. The only thing is ol being from nyc i never had dumplings, potatoes and carrots cooked with the oxtails. The oxtails tasted good just wish I had like 5 more LOL. There is no Jamaican or Caribbean food in Clearwater AT ALL. I liked it so I'll be going back. We tried so many different things. The best was the festival and the curry chicken. Flavorful and a decent amount. The worst was the Jerk Chicken and Rum Cake. The jerk had no spice! Tasted like regular charbroiled chicken that was drizzled with a jerk sauce. Far from the authentic taste I was searching for. The rum cake was flavorful but very dry and stale- like it was a few days old. Beef Patty was good as expected. Overall, not terrible but definitely not the best. We visited this place in Tarpon Springs for lunch. He had the goat curry and I had the jerk chicken after all it's their specialty. It was very good but the curry was excellent. I'll be getting that the next time we go. The service was slow, they had some confusion about whether they had taken our order. The place does a busy take out business. Its the real deal people! Important note: My father was born and raised in Jamaica so I grew up on Jamaican/Caribbean cuisine and now I can be pretty picky. This place doesn't look like a restaurant, more a banquet hall inside, but I say sit on down order a red stripe and enjoy the bright colors painted throughout because the food is going to blow your mind. Takeout is available as well. The jerk pork is unbelievably tender and juicy, the rice and peas have the perfect amount of coconut milk and that gravy is finger-lickin good and the cabbage is A-Maz-ING. The portions are generous but leftovers taste just as good. I've been to many US located Jamaican spots and these prices are right on par. You also need to have a patty! I choose the spicy beef, not too much of a kick so don't let the word "spicy" detur you. It is a family run establishment, family being from outside Negril. Ordered a side of plantains tasted like the cooking oil needed to be changed. The inside looks very questionable. I would not eat here again. I ordered my meal on Ubereats so I cant comment on the ambiance of the restaurant. I was very happy with my meal, I could probably eat an entire plate of the Mac n cheese. My jerk chicken was very juicy and flavorful without it being overpowering. I think the only thing that was a little off for me was the cornbread, it wasn't like the cornbread I've grown up eating so I do believe it's for an acquired taste.
