I am writing this review in hopes to warn both horse owners/ranchers and homeowners in the Ocala…read moreFlorida area. this place reeks of a scam. My personal experience was first, i of course saw their huge billboard on HWY 40 heading east toward Dunnellon/Rainbow Springs stating they offer wood shavings and peanut mulch for livestock stalls. i wanted the peanut mulch for my landscape as i am reseeding my lawn. so i look up the business via internet and make the call. first alarm goes off in m head as the lady who answers the phone and apparently takes orders for customers, is not at the business, at home as she says and has to find a pen and paper.maybe i thought i caught her off guard so i let it roll. i asked to have 20 yrds of peanut mulch delivered and ask them to call before they come so i can make payment with my credit card.also gave specific directions since my property has 2 entrances. the next day the driver just shows up with a dump truck knocking on my front door, but i havent made a payment yet (second alarm). the driver keeps stating how busy he was and asking me where to dump it. i of course "wait a minute i need to pay for it first". the driver gets mouthy and pushy " where do i dump, here? whats the problem, im just to pick up check" . i stated that i asked you people to call first and ( alarm 3) he lies and says he has been calling all morning, yet not a single call.yet he still seems so anxious to dump this load and run off with no money??? so i walk behind the truck and take a smell, as peanut mulch SHOULD have a fairly strong peanut aroma. nope smells like landfill garbage. so i ask, " how many yards you have in there?" 20-25 he says " i dunno, my brother he messed up". i tell them to leave and get their act together. the website says they have been in business for 20 yrs, yet after 5 search engines on businesses and not finding any reviews ,me having to ADD them here, and them not being customer savvy enough to secure payment before delivery , id say thats a bunch of hooey. stay away and please warn ranchers etc. i dont want any animals harmed as i have 4 pets that would have been subjected to whatever he was hoping to dump on my property.

Troutman Farm Stays - A wonderful site for relaxing and enjoying the quiet and views at the picnic table provided by the owner.

They had a picnic table and umbrella available for use which was nice to enjoy at sunset and for breakfast outside. It's an active private farm so we enjoyed seeing the animals in the fields. Super private space and peaceful. Little local town is 5 mins to anything we needed with Winn Dixie and a CVS there. It took about 20 mins to get to off the main hwy 75. We were there to enjoy WEC and the nature preserves and manatees for the month as a break from winter. Compared to the RV parks at three times the price this delivered for us but we don't need the shuffleboard and neighbors next door!

After visiting multiple facilities and even a few individuals to do "meet & greets", we were thrilled to find the best option for all three needs was with the same team - Procyon. This review is focused specifically on the day training program. Mimi attends DAY TRAINING 2x/week. What has she learned? To SIT and WAIT at the door when it's opened instead of charging through it (picture spilling soda on yourself, the leash slipping out of your hand, her running all the way to the street) - she usually even sits without me asking. To sit in the backseat of the car in her carseat. When I brought her to Procyon she wouldn't ride anywhere but my lap - even when I was driving (yea, I know - not safe). If I tried to use the carseat, she would cry the entire time and jump out of the chair. HEEL - her heel when we walk is much improved - she used to pull like a sled dog! She's more comfortable around strangers from field trips they take. PLACE - critical for us when the doorbell rings. (We're still working on doorbell manners!) She's got a solid "high five!" too, which we use often with strangers because she prefers it to them petting her. It's been a great experience thus far, as have the boarding and daycare. I highly recommend Procyon. PS - Mimi is famous for her "resting sad face"!
