I am writing about this recreation center specifically as the trailhead to the north end of the…read moreTecolote Canyon hiking trail. The route begins by the tennis courts and immediately descends a couple of hundred feet into a narrow canyon. From there, the journey is flat and winds southward parallel to a dried up creek bed. There is plenty of shade as you are strolling beneath foliage most of the time. After a little over 1.5 miles one way, the path intersects with Balboa Ave. You can walk roadside for several hundred yards next to the speeding traffic before traversing a crosswalk to continue towards Linda Vista and the south end of the trek. That portion contains a series of very steep hills which I have tackled before with the aid of my trekking poles. On this occasion, I turned around and completed the 3.5 mile circuit by mostly retracing the way I had taken. A healthy number of mountain bikers were on the trail at the same time I was. The width was sufficient to allow them to pass me without difficulty. I know that during the summer, many more insects are active in this area so wear repellent if you come at a warmer time of the year.

Parents are highly recommended to volunteer to coach its a great opportunity to be close to your child and their development. Fall season offered lots of games plus play offs. Will consider joining again next year. Volunteers for coaches are always a big plus. There are a lot of kids in the area so I believe that as a community it can be better than what AYSO can offer

When you host teams from different counties, states, and countries, please pick fields that show some pride in your organization. They have no restrooms - only disgusting portable ones that I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole. There's trash and weeds around the field and pathways - just a terrible place for families to try to enjoy a tournament that cost so much to put on.

This includes making a point to see your child play in actual games for a more complete assessment. They're also very attentive to making sure your child is engaged, motivated, and having some fun. For my kid, who is competitive but sometimes needs encouragement to give his best effort, they proposed pairing him with another child. The coaches know their soccer and make training fun. They develop training sessions based on players skill level while providing a positive environment to learn. During the summer they host camps that focus on skills and empowerment which is different than other camps we have been to which really shows not only their love for the game but also their dedication and passion in the development of soccer players. My daughter plays at the highest level in competitive soccer and we have her attend training to continue to develop but to also have the chance to engage with successful female coaches.
