After the 1st class I was told my 2.5 year old son needs to listen better. Now of course, any 2.5 year old probably needs to listen better, and lord knows my son does, but considering he sat on the edge of the pool the entire class waiting until he was told what to do was impressive by itself. But no worries, I was working with him to listen to his teacher better. Yeah he splashed the water some and blew bubbles while waiting his turn, but come on. THEN to be asked on the 2nd day of class if he is non-verbal because he "only listens to her sometimes and only responds sometimes" was the final straw for me. He's 2 years old and excited to be at the pool. No he's not non-verbal, he's taking it all in and wants to play. He doesn't respond to everything you say and listen to you perfectly? HE'S ONLY MET YOU TWICE, HE HASN'T EVEN WARMED UP TO YOU YET! No 2 year old is ever going to listen to everything you tell them or do exactly what you say! Especially when he's in the same class as 3, 4 and 5 year olds. You can't hold him to the same standard. That's a huge age difference. And he was not being disobedient because I would've surely intervened. Terrible experience and will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone. And worst part is, not a single phone call from management to understand what happened or apologize.

When the second lead resigned abruptly, we chose to withdraw. The school enforced a 45-school-day withdrawal clause, effectively billing families for two school months after notice. Hard to reconcile was the asymmetry: families must guarantee 45-school-days of tuition, yet leadership at times appeared to give staff as little as one week's notice of termination; in other cases, staff were listed as "on vacation" and didn't return. Whether that reflects limited loyalty from management toward staff or low staff loyalty to the workplace, it ultimately points to a management-level failure to foster a supportive environment that keeps staff committed--while families are asked to shoulder the cost of the resulting staffing and retention issues via the 45-school-day policy. If you visit the school, ask detailed questions about current turnover, staffing ratios, contingency plans, and how the 45-school-day policy is applied when staffing changes disrupt a classroom.

It's very clear when you can just tell a person was made to work with little kids, and I've felt that with every single teacher I've met here so far; and that was not the case anywhere else. The communication and attention to detail has exceeded my expectations. I LOVE that this school is smaller, I think only one class per age group, and that Nikisha (director) knows every single parent and child by name. When I ask my son if he wants to go to any daycare (gym, church, etc) he says no. But every time I ask him about going to "school" he says yes, and he's out the door. I feel so at peace here, I'm so impressed with what he's learning every day, I love how diverse it is, I love how safe he is here, and I could not speak more highly of this place.

We were told a good thing for him to try would be coding camp. After find several extremely high precede places, we found Code Ninjas. The owners are soooo friendly and take teaching and caring for your child very seriously. One fo the owners is previous law enforcement and you can tell he takes pride in maintaining a safe environment for the children. My son loved the program and was so excited when he came home everyday wanting to read about a new program. He completed camp last week and we plan to have him do the monthly program. It is pretty cool, drop in 2 hours a week (two separate 1 hours sessions). They work at their own pace from a white to black belt with someone giving them one-on-one help through the entire process.

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to warn others about this studio. There is extreme…read morefavoritism and cliquiness here. I'm not talking about getting overlooked or disregarded, even though that does happen, but I am mentioning the appalling way that the teachers praise their favorite students and only criticize the other students. I can understand criticizing for the purpose of helping a student grow, but telling someone their turns look like sh*t and kicking them out of a dance because they missed ONE rehearsal is unacceptable. When I left, they seemed to learn their lesson that it is unrealistic to expect a child to not miss a single rehearsal, so they allowed up to two missed rehearsals. Still, I missed one rehearsal and was again excluded from the production dance that everyone was involved in. Had this been one of their favorite students, I do not believe it would have been the same case as many of them had missed rehearsals and yet I was the one getting kicked out. On top of that, the auditioning process for performances such as The Nutcracker are completely unfair as roles on pointe have been given to girls a year in opposed to others that were clearly more advanced. I have even seen a girl cry and runoff during her audition because she didn't know the choreography and yet she still got casted for a main role. Additionally, I have been gossiped about by the students and told by one of them that they weren't sure if anyone would care if I killed myself. Yes, I was extremely depressed at this time because of the toxic environment I was in and no one comforted me. I would run out of the room crying from PTSD and yet no one batted an eye despite my panic attacks being extremely obvious. Currently, I now struggle from gastroparesis due to having gone to the studio and not being allowed to eat, despite actively losing weight unintentionally. When I did stop to eat for just 10 minutes, the teachers would be highly annoyed, and yet, I was not allowed to receive a second solo as a senior which every senior does due to my weight. It was as if no one had realized that I was trying to eat during the 5 hours I was there every night in order to maintain a healthy weight. When I did naturally lose weight, one of my costumes passed down was not altered for me, even though it had been altered for every girl before me. I have also seen horrible treatment to others as one girl was kicked off of the team because she had told her friends that she was going to a different studio the next year. This meant she wasn't a "team player" and she was bringing in negative energy simply because she told her friends in the middle of the season that she wouldn't be there next year. False rumors were then spread that she was saying bad things about the studio online. Keep in mind she was around the age of 10 and she did not deserve to be treated like this by adults acting like teenagers. Lastly, a teacher had been fired due to not being able to attend every single competition. There's always this idea of you have to give your life to this studio or your out mentality. Said teacher was engaged and working multiple jobs yet they had no grace for him and he was unfortunately one of the only good teachers there. I refer to this place as the cult because they do not deserve the title of a dance studio. This is an extremely toxic place and I have heard owners of other dance studios agree with this claim. When you are in the dance world, word spreads like fire and it should be known that this place is a living hell.

I went & bought brand new underwear & sweatpants for his cubby & they couldn't even take the time out to change my child. The day before I withdrew him, he had a literal piece of poop in his underwear & I know they must have smelled it b/c as soon as he got in my car, I did. They made my son VERY uncomfortable going here & NEVER took the time out to stoop to a toddler's level to talk to him & care to see what was bothering him. He was coming home to me with scratches & telling me everyday that a kid in his class was hitting him DAILY(I have this on camera) & when I brought it up to the staff they smacked their teeth & dismissed it.
