I've been ordering kiddie cakes for my birthday every year. They are absolutely delicious and such fresh cakes. I ordered the cannoli cake with whipped cream icing. If you haven't tried the cannoli cream filled cake, you're missing out!!! I called 3 days prior to the day I needed the cake and they were able to fulfill my order. My only complaint is that I told them the time I'd be coming and when I arrived it wasn't ready so I had to wait 30 mins. It's the first time it ever happened in my years of being a customer here. Be prepared to be frustrated. Every time you call, the line is always busy for hours on end. Then when the line goes through the employees put you on hold without even saying anything for 5-10-15 minutes at a time. I don't get it?????? They are untrained and very slow. Staten Island has dozens & dozens of bakeries and I've never experienced this poor customer service anywhere else. Yes the cakes taste great and look great for the price but I've just about had it with Kiddie Cakes and plan on taking my business elsewhere. It's been going on for years here and getting worse. i have been going here for years because one of my children was diagnosed with peanut allergy and i was so happy to finally find a peanut free bakery. Even though there were a couple of red flags in the past about their products being safe i gave them the benefit of the doubt. this past year a snack that was our "go to safe snack" was declared unsafe because they now shared lines with peanut products, this product is Oreos. I called when ordering my sons bday cake and asked them about the oreos since they are no longer safe. without having any idea or knowledge they tried convincing me that oreos were safe and sometimes they even used the wegmans brand! i was floored! knowing oreos are unsafe (because i've called 4x this year to check) and knowing that the probability of the wegmans brand being safe is highly unlikely i no longer felt safe. They advertise themselves to be a "peanut free bakery "! after messaging them about this they sent me a google search from who knows when and told me after doing their "research" oreos are safe! i cannot believe the amount of irresponsibility and arrogance they showed me!.. after i told them oreos were definitely not peanut free and asking them if they check all of their other products they wrote me a long message telling me they are "nut free" and check items from time to time, then they blocked me!! people's lives are at risk when they are trusting a company to be nut free! thankfully i'm a seasoned mother for the most part when it comes to my sons allergy but others are not as knowledgeable, and these people don't care ! i hope no one gets sick or God forbid loses their lives at the hands of these people. i will NEVER do business with them again! they should be sued for false advertising! read more

I went with kiddie cakes for my son's birthday party. It was lego themed so they designed an absolutely beautiful lego cake. It WAS NOT fondant. It was beautiful tasting buttercream icing. There was also a layer of vanilla custard. Half sheet cake at $75. You cannot go wrong. It fed 32 people at the party and we still had leftovers to take home. The year prior I threw my son's party at Rab's bowling alley and they provided an ice cream cake from Kiddie Cakes. It was Jurassic Park themed and it was absolutely phenomenal. You always see the gender reveal videos where the reveal goes wrong... the balloons maybe are multicolored or the cake was the wrong color. In my case, the cake wasn't colored at all! I ordered a vanilla cake for the fact that the Baker said he can only dye vanilla cake and not chocolate. On the top, the quote read "Boy or Girl Open to See" and when you opened the cake there was no color inside but the vanilla cake. It was very upsetting that the order was taken wrong after I had a full conversation with a few people in the store. We also ordered a cupcake for my son to smash open and participate in the reveal. Inside the cupcake had the pink icing. And then everyone should've enjoyed a slice of pink cake with him after the cupcake was smashed. Although the cake was good, the cake was not what I ordered for my gender reveal party. There was no pink cake to celebrate my baby girl!! I could've made this cake myself if I just wanted a vanilla cake. I called back to speak with the manager and he remembered our conversation of how I said I wanted vanilla cake over chocolate so that he can color it but since it was not written on the receipt by the girl who took the order (her mistake not mine, i specifically said i wanted a pink or blue cake).. there was no follow up call to even check if I wanted the cake colored before baking the cake. There was no compensation for the error except him saying that there was a bunch of gender reveals this weekend and sorry he didnt color my cake. I am very upset with my experience at Kiddie cakes. I never used kiddie cakes before but went there on a recommendation because they are a peanut free bakery. I ordered the full sheet ice cream cake for my daughters engagement party. It was decorated beautifully and tasted delicious. There was plenty of ice cream. Couldn't believe how large the cake actually was. Definitely worth the price. Also ordered cookies shaped like engagement rings that came out beautiful as well and you can't beat the price. I've used other vendors and private people who charge $3.50 or more per cookie. Great tasting cakes. Pre ordered a cake for my baby shower and it came out beautifully. The butter cream frosting was delicious and the cake itself was moist. I ordered a half sheet yellow and chocolate layered cake with French cream filling. We were not disappointed. The best part of Kiddie Cakes is that they are peanut and tree nut free which is hard to find. My kids were able to eat cake with us like a typical family without having to worry about ingredients and allergic reactions. We have had cupcakes and cookies from here as well and they also tasted great. The only thing I wish they served is vanilla and red velvet cake. So, this past weekend was my first time ordering. I have had their cakes plenty of times. They are delicious. When I called to place the order, the gentleman I spoke with was standoffish. I let it slide because I understand it could have been a bad day. I made a mental note, placed my order and went on my way. I called early to ask if I could move the pick up time. I explained my siblings would come to get the cake. When I sent my brother in to pick up the cake the same man was also present. Again, he was nasty and combative. So I'm done. I'll order from somewhere else. PS- I work in catering. Your attitude will affect business. Be more personable and learn how to treat people. That arrogance is not necessary. Not sure if he was the owner. The cake was good. It was exactly what I wanted, but it didn't warrant that arrogant, nasty disposition and behavior. It turned me off that I will never order again.
