They are superheroes and in my opinion, incredibly underpaid. That being said, an organization is a representation of the people who run it. My wife and I had our daycare spot terminated after expressing concern at the daycare's communication regarding fully reopening during Covid. We had some questions regarding the clarity of their emails when the centre rolled out their plan for reopening to full capacity. When we expressed surprise and concern at the response, the director accused us of being 'hostile' and immediately terminated my son's spot. No phone call. No discussion. Terminated. Let me be clear. At no point did we swear, name call, disparage, etc. We simply had questions. Tough ones? You bet. But questions that were important to my family and our immediate future. When contacted (surprisingly) for a follow up 'courtesy call' the day after our spot was unceremoniously terminated, my wife and I were told that the daycare staff was happy to see our family go. Professionalism in spades... I'm a teacher, and I couldn't imagine treating my students' parents with such animosity and blatant disregard when they brought a concern to my attention. When dealing with concerned parents, it's my job to be the professional. This was not the case here. You are nothing more than a monthly payment to these people. They do not want your feedback. They don't want your questions. My advice? Take your kids to a daycare that is willing to listen to feedback from your child's most important advocate; you.

New teachers are lacking experience and does not even know how to comprehend and communicate properly to parents.

We have filed a police report, and a claim with child licensing services Alberta…read more KidsU historically has requested its clients to leave positive reviews in exchange for parent/family benefits. Unfortunately, we cannot support this as it would be untruthful. Our toddler has attended KidsU for a year and a half. The first week of March he was moved into a senior classroom. During this week, he sustained a finger laceration when a teacher gave him a pencil sharpener and left him alone with it. My son is three, and had never seen one of these beofre. The next three days when we came to pick him up, he was covered in large bruises on his face, arms, and back. Thursday was the final straw. We were called regarding an incident where he sustained a facial injury (large bruise and cut) across his forehead and temple. The explanation we were given was "Sometimes they just get away from us. We do our best." This is the lowest bar for childcare I have seen. I have spoken to other parents, and they have had less severe and less frequent injuries however are afraid to speak up in case they lose their spot for childcare. We had to pull him from this facility immediately despite having zero back up options. Things started well on the junior side, with normal bumps every few weeks as it goes - however, there is cause for concern regarding the KidsU approach once the child moves into the senior side. Their are many more young kids per teacher, and they just can't keep the kids safe.
