I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews posted here. Based on their timing and content, they do not reflect our experience. Having seen several staff members come and go during the time our child has been enrolled, I believe these reviews should be considered in that context. Our experience with the school has consistently been positive, professional, and supportive. Take a tour and see for yourself. There is no other place where I would feel as comfortable sending my child. This is a school my child is genuinely excited to attend each morning, and that speaks volumes to us as parents.

I always felt completely confident in the care they received. The teachers are attentive, thoughtful, and create the sweetest crafts for the kids. I also really appreciated how they managed nap time--providing a structured 'quiet time' for children who didn't feel like sleeping so everyone felt included and rested. As a neighbor who lives nearby, I can personally confirm how clean and well-maintained the facility is, as I often saw the maintenance or cleaning crew coming in weekly after hours. One of my absolute favorite parts was their annual school pictures. They brought in a professional photography company to set up a temporary background in one of the classrooms for half a day. The professional photos of my children at that age are truly priceless, and I will forever cherish them. The Director, Ms. Anna, is truly beyond amazing--quite honestly my favorite human! She goes above and beyond to ensure every single child is cared for and was always attentive to our family's needs. She is warm, accessible, and remarkably perceptive; if she noticed friends having trouble playing well together, she would thoughtfully rearrange activities to keep things positive. We're actually surprised that this location site only has 2 prior reviews and quite old. But here we are.... Our then 5 yo son was first registered at KC with Ms. Celina and her team last summer for Summer Camp. Kiddo's assigned elementary school is BCE and we debated whether or not to enroll him within the SRVUSD for Kindergarten, but ultimately decisioned not to. However, that is not to take away from the wonderful care he received last year at KC during Summer Camp. Last year was extremely difficult because of the severe COVID restrictions, but kiddo had a blast with Ms. Celina and team. They were attentive, took special care to adhere to COVID restrictions, and was able to pull off safe and fun activities for the kids to do. There's water play, bike or scooter play, walking and van driven field trips to various parks, movie time, playground time, and weekly themed activities, etc. Obviously our kiddo was at the K-2nd Grade group, but there's also the 3rd-5th Grade group in the connecting room. Given that it's now Summer 2022 and we still have some COVID restrictions, the staff are still quite as engaging and prepared to give the best and fun care for the kids. When we were getting ready to sign up for summer activities when the school year was ending, our kiddo asked to register at KC once again for this summer, and he is thrilled to be back. Of note, we didn't exclusively register for the entire summer at KC because there's other activities our kiddo preferred to do on some weeks, but he is still very excited to stay here periodically. He comes home and shows us his completed activities and speaks excitedly about all the friends he met. The hours are also great during summer (opens at 7:30AM and closes at 6:00PM). My daughter went to Bollinger kids country when she was at kindergarten…read more She absolutely loves it. She always tells me "Mom, please don't pick me up too early. I want to stay longer." Celina is always kind and patient with the kids. She is so helpful and always addresses our questions timely. During the pandemic, there were many health policies. She not only sent an email to remind the parents, she also told me in person when I picked up the kid. Highly recommend the after school. It offers a caring, learning and enjoyable environment which means so much to our family.

We visited many other schools, but none of them made us feel like our child's happiness and safety were truly the priority. Many were Montessori programs with rigid classroom settings and rules that we felt were unnecessary for kids at this age. The family-run team at DHCS has always made us feel like partners in raising our daughter. Communication has been great and it's clear they really know each child individually. They've been flexible with schedule changes and even welcomed us back without requiring re-enrollment when we briefly tried a school closer to home after our second child was born. We continue to do the 30-minute drive each way because of how much benefit we've seen this school provide to our daughter. Over the years we've seen our daughter become more confident, social, and excited about learning, which has been wonderful to watch. They teach the kids about different holidays and cultures and always find a reason to celebrate. We also really appreciate how diverse the student body and teachers are, which helps create a welcoming environment where kids are exposed to many different backgrounds. They're not the cheapest school and not the most expensive, but for us it has absolutely been worth it. Every concern or piece of feedback we've provided has always been taken with great care and met with a professional, non-defensive attitude. A huge added bonus is the location -- the police station is right next door, which gives us extra peace of mind as parents. They also have a giant playground with all kinds of outdoor activities for the kids, and they strongly encourage outside play. We've especially appreciated their flexibility when we needed it most. While there was a period of staff changes in mid-2024, Shilpa, the owner, was proactive in addressing our concerns and ensuring our son continued to receive the care and developmental support he needed. Thanks to their dedication, he's thriving and hitting all his developmental milestones. The curriculum is engaging and age-appropriate. Our son constantly surprises us with new things he's learned, from days of the week to counting to 100! We also love the regular updates through the mobile app, which make our post-pickup conversations more interactive and fun. Some of our favorite moments have been the Christmas concert (adorable chaos) put on by the teachers and the drop-in dance sessions, which give the kids a chance to burn off energy in a fun way. I had a really weird experience with this school, but the main issue was with a "dance teacher" name Jamie Aston who was hosting some type of "Disney Camp", if that's what you call playing it's a small world and having them jump around with ribbons. My daughter went to try it out on her first day, it was so unstructured and ammeter, but was planning to let me kid participate for the remainder of the week if she had fun. By the next morning, I got this very tactless email (in photo) which I decided to just dump the class at that point bc why are you hassling me for $150 on her first day? Which is separate from the actual tuition and enrollment fees and you knew we were doing a trail run?? She asked my 2 yr old to tell the class about herself and was expecting her to answer questions that required actual stories and details... which shows lack of experience dealing with toddlers. I asked the Director Stephanie about how long she's been teaching dance and working with kids , and this is the response I got which clearly shows she discussed what I said to Jamie. The next day, she gave me a very nasty look, I asked her was there a problem and she was ready to combat, which she did I front of her class/ camp of 2 yr olds. It got so heated that I took my child completely out of the school in DAY 2! The administrative staff did nothing and allowed her to disrespect me, and no one ever contacted me after the fact so clearly they allow this behavior from a third party ... disappointing and completely unacceptable. As for the school itself, I was literally on the fence the whole time prior to this incident as I stayed for most of her first day to observe. I did like the price and that they have a cook that serves lunch, but hated their potty training system. They have your 2 yr old do it by themselves with no help, and they walk around with no underwear. One kid took his off and sat in their activity rug with it all out ( unsanitary) my daughter had never seen a penis until then. They didn't even notice yet unruffled, like a normal reoccurring thing . I could only imagine what goes on when a parent isn't around watching. Also, some staff were friendly and some were not, also seemed very young and inexperienced be running a class. There were a few other things k can't remember but will add if I do. Just know that you get what you pay for with this place.

Since this was going to be Amber's first experience in a school setting, it was very important for us to feel comfortable, and the teachers immediately gave us that confidence. Now, six months into our journey with La Petite, we truly couldn't be happier with our decision. Amber is thriving and learning so much from the curriculum. One of the biggest changes we've noticed is in her English speaking skills. Since we prioritized speaking our home language at home, it's been amazing to see how much her confidence and communication in English have grown. What stands out most is how caring the teachers are with the children. During nap time, I've seen teachers gently comforting the kids and patting them to sleep, which really shows how nurturing they are.
