Since this was going to be Amber's first experience in a school setting, it was very important for us to feel comfortable, and the teachers immediately gave us that confidence. Now, six months into our journey with La Petite, we truly couldn't be happier with our decision. Amber is thriving and learning so much from the curriculum. One of the biggest changes we've noticed is in her English speaking skills. Since we prioritized speaking our home language at home, it's been amazing to see how much her confidence and communication in English have grown. What stands out most is how caring the teachers are with the children. During nap time, I've seen teachers gently comforting the kids and patting them to sleep, which really shows how nurturing they are. A special thank you to Ms. Ronika, Ms. Monica, Ms. Veeda, Ms. Manju, Ms. May, and Ms. Deanna for being so kind, patient, and attentive with Amber. It truly means a lot to us as parents. I reached out for general information about their academic curriculum offerings + tuition $$) because La Petite Academy is not upfront about this on their website. You will fill out a Information Request Form and then receive multiple phone calls and messages from their national call center. Once they get ahold of you, they'll tell you that they're unable to tell you any tuition information unless you schedule a tour. And then they tell you that the location you are interested in has a waitlist. So essentially the call was a waste of time and the Call Center department is utterly useless. This is an embarrassment of a business. You can easily remove the middle man (call center) and employ a local/regional office manager who can filter and coordinate inquiries and manage the enrollment process. This is not what I was expecting at all. Be better. Suggest that the Academy publish academic/tuition information online or make an information packet available, instead of holding that information hostage. Jesus Christ, it's 2023 for crying out loud.

We're actually surprised that this location site only has 2 prior reviews and quite old. But here we are.... Our then 5 yo son was first registered at KC with Ms. Celina and her team last summer for Summer Camp. Kiddo's assigned elementary school is BCE and we debated whether or not to enroll him within the SRVUSD for Kindergarten, but ultimately decisioned not to. However, that is not to take away from the wonderful care he received last year at KC during Summer Camp. Last year was extremely difficult because of the severe COVID restrictions, but kiddo had a blast with Ms. Celina and team. They were attentive, took special care to adhere to COVID restrictions, and was able to pull off safe and fun activities for the kids to do. There's water play, bike or scooter play, walking and van driven field trips to various parks, movie time, playground time, and weekly themed activities, etc. Obviously our kiddo was at the K-2nd Grade group, but there's also the 3rd-5th Grade group in the connecting room. Given that it's now Summer 2022 and we still have some COVID restrictions, the staff are still quite as engaging and prepared to give the best and fun care for the kids. When we were getting ready to sign up for summer activities when the school year was ending, our kiddo asked to register at KC once again for this summer, and he is thrilled to be back. Of note, we didn't exclusively register for the entire summer at KC because there's other activities our kiddo preferred to do on some weeks, but he is still very excited to stay here periodically. He comes home and shows us his completed activities and speaks excitedly about all the friends he met. The hours are also great during summer (opens at 7:30AM and closes at 6:00PM). Celina is always kind and patient with the kids. She is so helpful and always addresses our questions timely. During the pandemic, there were many health policies. She not only sent an email to remind the parents, she also told me in person when I picked up the kid. Highly recommend the after school. It offers a caring, learning and enjoyable environment which means so much to our family.

About the school and its activities: The team is fantastic, and the teachers are well-educated. There are tons of activities, all following a curriculum-oriented approach. We receive daily updates on books read (in case we want to share them at home), songs sung, circle time, outdoor play, and fun indoor activities when the weather doesn't allow outside time. Activities range widely--baking bread, painting, dancing, creative play, and so much more. With these daily updates, we feel connected and well-informed about our child's day. This school is a very happy place filled with positive reinforcements and encouragement, and our daughter had a wonderful time here. We will miss the school and only wish we didn't live so far away. The family-run team at DHCS has always made us feel like partners in raising our daughter. Communication has been great and it's clear they really know each child individually. They've been flexible with schedule changes and even welcomed us back without requiring re-enrollment when we briefly tried a school closer to home after our second child was born. We continue to do the 30-minute drive each way because of how much benefit we've seen this school provide to our daughter. Over the years we've seen our daughter become more confident, social, and excited about learning, which has been wonderful to watch. They teach the kids about different holidays and cultures and always find a reason to celebrate. We also really appreciate how diverse the student body and teachers are, which helps create a welcoming environment where kids are exposed to many different backgrounds. They're not the cheapest school and not the most expensive, but for us it has absolutely been worth it. Every concern or piece of feedback we've provided has always been taken with great care and met with a professional, non-defensive attitude. A huge added bonus is the location -- the police station is right next door, which gives us extra peace of mind as parents. It feels good to be part of the community and use their support and expert opinion for my daughter's education. There are different teachers for English, Math, and even second language, like Spanish. All of them are pros, and they take their job very seriously. It's hard to control classes like this where students come from different schools, each student with different skills. Yet, the teachers have succeeded in providing a safe, nurturing and educational environment for my daughter. I am also very happy with the pick-up. There has never been any issue. Everything gets coordinated by the staff in a very clear and organized way.

Until third grade, he went to different after school program but this time one of his friend went there so I enrolled him. On month three, they mail me that my son has serious mental health issues and they can not continue. They gave me two weeks notice to withdraw my kid. After one week the director told me my child has behavioral issues that needs to be consulted or treated! Well his school and other afterschool never informed me! I talk to his school teacher and she informed no issues at all. I asked Lauren the director why she didn't inform me during three weeks of summer camp? She told me she wanted but didn't know I was enrolling him for afterschool! That was the answer. My son went to different summer camp before their one. No issues at all. Second month, my son was having nightmares not to go there and this time we set up a meeting. The teachers told us they will take care of his needs. His needs are he wants help of his Russian school of mathematics homework and breaks from their own stressful curriculum. They said Russian math school is their rival so they won't help! They told us they will give him breaks and I told them I am not worried about their curriculum because my son is at the good side of his school so I am not concerned of his education. He never goes afterschool with homework. He finished at school. They told me my son multiple time told them "HE is not a good person. He doesn't have any point of existence." "HE wants to nuke the whole world" "He wants to crashed to the windshield of the car and doesn't want to wear a seatbelt". He did says all out of his frustration of that creepy place. Teachers treated him so bad that he just wants all the negative thoughts. A nine year old having nightmares of a new afterschool means a lot. The director Lauren didn't inform me any of those when happened. She mailed me with a date of withdrawal which is against California licensing. I informed my son's teacher. She was surprised the way they address his behavioral issues because none of those happening at school. I withdraw him right away and put him to another facility. Asked for what teachers thinking about him after two months. The teachers answer was "He is a nice addition to their classroom". So this management and director doesn't know and doesn't care about children. They wants your money and specific children. The children who will sit down on a space until parents will pick up. Children wants some moving will be addressed as a behavioral issue child when no one else before informed parents. They pushed my son to act crazy and put a notice of withdrawal because they have lots of waitlist of children who are quite and can sit on a space for three to four hours. Others will get a withdrawal notice after one or two weeks. Business will run fast too.
