We needed something to do on a Saturday morning, so I took my kids to Kids Empire at Citrus Park Mall. I'd completed the waivers ahead of time, which made check-in quick and easy. The staff pointed us toward the free lockers, I showed the kids where the bathrooms were, and then they were off. The play structure is huge and sturdy enough for parents to climb through and play, too. The big blue wavy slide was a blast, and the giant pink slide is intimidating even as an adult, but absolutely worth trying. There are also giant building blocks for making forts, a small soccer area upstairs, and plenty of climbing obstacles and challenges. After about 30 minutes of really playing with the kids, I was soaked with sweat, so this place will definitely wear everyone out. We stayed for around two hours before leaving for lunch. Don't skip the little disco room either. It has music and scenes projected on the walls, and it was noticeably cooler in there. We spent about 15 minutes having a dance party to cool down. The staff was friendly, the other parents were relaxed, and we had a fantastic time. We'll definitely be back. read more

I am incredibly impressed this is in a mall. Taking your child to play, going shopping and then coming back to play is a wonderful day. I loved the infant and toddler area until there were so many school aged children it became unsafe for my toddler. The staff are great about getting older kids out when it isn't busy, but after that it's a free for all. I don't care if the older kids are jumping in the ball pit but they could really hurt another baby. It was very clean and well stocked with fun things for kids to do. read more

I have taken my toddler here twice and only stay in the toddler section. The set up for the little kids section is age appropriate and engaging for the little ones. My son enjoys the obstacle courses, going down the slide and the ball pit. A waiver is required to be signed for everyone .Socks are required for everyone but I am not sure why socks without grips are discouraged. You are provided with a tote bag for the shoes. The prices are reasonable. I hoped there would be more enforcement by staff with ensuring that only toddlers are in that area because both times there have been older kids including teenagers who are in the toddler area. I also wish there was more enforcement with parental supervision- parents have left their crying toddlers in the ball pit area with no supervision. read more

New Indoor Play Area at Citrus Park Mall . First off, thank you to the birthday host for including the exact location in the invite, right near JCPenney. If not for that, I definitely would've wandered the whole mall looking for it. Whew ! Let's start with the good: * The place is very clean a big plus. * You're required to remove your shoes before entering the play area (baskets are provided), and socks are mandatory (grip or no grip, doesn't matter). * A waiver must be signed before entry. * It's $20 per child, which includes admission for two adults. * There's a cute little area for babies and toddlers, complete with a huge ball pit that's nicely separated from the big kid zone. Now for the not-so-great: Having a teenager , I've been to almost every play place in the Tampa Bay Area , and I've never felt this overwhelmed. The number of kids and adults crammed into one space was intense , we're talking about maybe a foot of walking space throughout the entire area. We came on a Sunday afternoon for a party, and the party tables were all in one shared space, side by side, with no private rooms or separation. It was so loud I couldn't hear myself think, let alone have a conversation with other parents. The play structure itself is like a giant jungle gym with three different slides and even a hidden car play area (costs extra) but it is not safe for toddlers to go in alone. It's understaffed, with no staff supervising the play areas, which is a big red flag. Kids were bumping cars into other kids . Any small child like mine could have gotten off and been pinned by moving cars , kids would run out of tokens and stay seated in the car while there was a long line. Parents had to step in to keep things moving along . And that big pink slide other reviewers have mentioned? I believe every word. Watching kids go down it gave me anxiety . it's way too steep, and I saw several kids flip or tumble off the end. Kids pushing other kids off the slide . Def need parent supervision or a staff to supervise that area . I also witnessed multiple kids fall straight through the round webbed climbing area, dropping 3-4 levels. No staff, no one helping just chaos. If you're not flexible, or if you're claustrophobic, you're going to struggle navigating the jungle gym to keep track of your child. Honestly, I think I'll stick to good old outdoor playgrounds and walks with my little one. This place might be fun for some, but it's not for the faint of heart. read more

Updated to 1 Star Safety Concerns and Unacceptable Customer Service I initially left a more measured review, but I feel compelled to update this to one star after the complete lack of follow-through from Kids Empire's customer service team regarding a serious injury my daughter sustained during our visit to the Citrus Park Mall location in Tampa. My daughter received a second-degree burn from one of the slides, which has been a painful and slow-healing injury. I contacted customer service promptly after our visit and was told that my concern would be forwarded to a "special department" that would be in touch. That was over a week ago. The last communication I received was six days ago, when I was told to be attentive to my phone for a follow-up. I've heard nothing since then -- no phone call, no email, no acknowledgment. This experience has left me not only disappointed but also deeply frustrated. When a child is hurt at a play facility, the bare minimum should be timely and compassionate communication. Instead, I've been left in the dark, following up on my own, with zero accountability or concern shown by this company. While accidents can happen, how a company responds to them matters. In this case, Kids Empire has completely failed. I will not be returning, and I hope this review serves as a warning to other families to proceed with caution. read more

We went on a Monday and it was chaotic. Really busy which I was surprised. Well, maybe because school is out so there were a LOT of kids. I'll try going again once the school year is back on and see how it is on a weekday. Pro- good location coming to the citrus park mall! We needed something like this nearby. We can wear our own socks and not have to buy theirs. Con- no outside food or drinks, expensive (we got a 10 pass card and it was $160 something), music was way too loud, chairs at the tables are way too close together and you have to pay extra for the motorcycles that just go in a circle basically. The toddler area is a bit lame but the older kids area is too big for my 22 month old so it was a bit overwhelming for him. I had to follow him around and make sure he wasn't getting hurt. The older kids will push and fly by without looking out for young kids. Overall, I was a disappointment because this place was hyped up so much from the reviews. I wish I didn't buy the 10 passes card because now I have to go back 9 more times. I wish I just paid the $20 one time entry. read more

This is a pretty cool indoor playground located at Citrus Park Mall nearest Dillards. I took my toddler here on a random Monday over the summer and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. There are lots of slides for the kids to enjoy which are all attached to a very modern jungle gym. There's a special area for younger kids in diapers that includes a ball pit and couple of small slides. The place is pretty clean. Adults and children have to remove shoes and wear only socks during their time in the facility. There is no outside food allowed except for personal containers of water. Payment for my child was around $20 and it allowed him to play all day, including leaving and returning (if I remember correctly). I'll likely take him back here especially on a rainy day for some indoor play. They have a couple of claw machine games and a few electric cars you can rent using a play card you add credits to. read more

We had such a great time at Kids Empire today! They just opened about a week ago and they weren't that busy...yet. We went at 11:30 and there were maybe 6-10 other kids there. My daughter is 2.5 and needed some assistance with some of the climbing. She was able to find a few pathways that were built for her size. There is so much to do! The slides are super fast and we went flying off of them. Take note: EVERYONE must have socks on to enter through the gate. (Shoes are NOT allowed) You can bring your own socks (and they don't have to be slip resistant.) Smaller children will most likely need help, so be dressed for the occasion. You MUST sign a waiver and can do that on their website in advance. They have 2 kiosks where you can also register or a handy QR code to do it on your phone. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. There are a few activities that cost extra, which we opted not to do. The glow-in-dark dance room was a hit with my daughter and her friend. There is a little tot play area for smaller kiddos. It's very well spaced out. I thought the pricing was really reasonable, at $20/kid for all day play. We're so happy they've opened up near us! We'll be back! read more

I didn't see any reviews mentioning that this place is inside of the Citrus Mall so I think that's worth mentioning -- not that it's a dealbreaker but for those who aren't familiar with the area. I thought it was a standalone place like Skyzone but it's inside the mall and it's huge. It's probably easiest to do your waiver online or if it's not busy then you can do at the store. Staff were great and helpful. They also informed us that the motor bike rides were extra so we got a $10 card and it was worth it since it wasn't too expensive for each ride. You have to take your shoes off before entering the area and there is no place to park your stroller so it can get really crowded fast and space fills up quick. There's plenty of stuff for everyone to do and you can do it with your kid too! It is very family friendly and your price includes all day so you can come back anytime during the day as long as you show them your receipt. You don't need grip socks and can just wear normal socks or you can purchase some for $3. Overall, my family and I had a blast and will definitely return! read more

if I could give this star, I would The experience I had was absolutely ridiculous. Me and my children were attacked by another family. The front desk was notified and also the team members they seen it happen. A manager was called and she seemed like she did not care when I left. Nice layout .. my kid loves the slides and tunnels. However, I feel there should be a limit of how many people they accept inside, as this place literally gets jam packed.. I'm talking people are elbow to elbow in there, which can present safety hazards due to the volume, so if your kid is an introvert then I'd advise maybe a weekday in the morning, if possible. All in all, I'm glad they made use of the space as we need more jungle gyms. read more

They had no directions on what to do. You stand in line for 20-30 minutes and then you get to the top of the line only for them to tell you you have to put in a waiver first. If i could give it a ZERO i would In 5 days it'll be 30 days that my friend and I have been waiting for a refund from this company. Never in my life has it ever taken this long . I spent Under 10 minutes here with 3 kids under 5 & wanted a refund IMMEDIATELY because the place is not SAFE at alll I got told the company doesn't provide refunds . That is absolutely absurd when i was inside for less then 10 mins . Everyone is bunched up at the door trying to check in and hold on to there stuff . You have these tacky small totes to put your shoes in you have to carry with you or leave at a table to be stolen or go watch your child . You have unsupervised 14 Year old children playing with the same equipment you have a 3 year old playing with . Literally playing throw & dodge blocks While you have infants running in between .Teens doing back flips & tik tok dances off tables in the back corner There is HUGE lack of staff it took 20 minutes for them to find us a manager just for her to say we dont give back money , There is no one at the play station's making sure things are going smooth . . There is no one making sure the kids are sharing the cars to go down the slide my kid watched the same kids go down with it multiple times just pushing past the kids waiting to go . .Ive been calling every 3 days about my refund . The place is new and we were the first party so there were some bumps BUT they were addressed and resolved very well and that is what matters! All the guests raved about how fun it was.
