My kids have gone to Kids in motion for 10 years. It was the only camps either of my boys wanted to go to during the Summers and now my daughter only wants to be at Kids in motion as well! Boys and girls love this camp more than anything, and I truly believe it is because of the pure happiness and positive encouragement that the owner and ringleader brings every day and to each one of his counselors that are with the kids! I can't say enough good things about this camp and the people that run it! 11 out of 10!!!!

However, the…read moregym has becoming increasingly crowded and members use the walking areas to spread out equipment so it becomes very difficult to move about the gym easily. The two small mat areas for stretching are crowded and often times unavailable. I often see coaches chit chatting on the mats and taking up space that could be used for workouts. The movable equipment like the boxes often are filled with personal item like phone and headsets so it's not easy to just grab what you need easily. Several times over the past few months the gym has had no hot water and/or no steam. I utilize the gym before work so this is a major issue. In fact as a write this just received a notification of no hot water. ‍ The sign up part was awesome, with Equinox providing guests passes, gift receipts for the store etc....ending the membership, however, has been painful. I started the process a week ago and my email wasn't on file despite providing all of my info thru the signup process. When I attempted to end my membership thru the email provided it had expired only two days later. Calling back, had to provide my email again. Went thru the cancellation process only to encounter an "error" at the end. Attempted several additional times with same result. Called the club and was informed a "report" had to be made and sent to the general manager for approval. What? My husband is now encountering the same shenanigans. No email on file, no address blah blah. The Equinox front desk manager was rude and condescending saying "I'm sorry mame" over and over. Extremely disingenuous attitude and tone as if just to get me off the phone and not genuinely sorry. Overall an awful experience. Beware, this is a hotel California membership.

You can tell he truly cares about the kids and their development, both individually and as a team. Being part of DAC has been such a great experience for our family. I honestly wish I could tell every parent looking at Development Academy of California (DAC) to…read morethink twice--for the well-being of their kids and for the love of the sport. Our family's experience with Coach Alix goes back multiple years across a couple different clubs while our son was playing youth club soccer. When you first meet him, he can be very charismatic and convincing. He talks about big plans for player development, teams, and future opportunities. In our experience, though, a lot of those plans never seemed to materialize. What concerned us most was the coaching environment. During games and practices, the coaching style often involved a lot of yelling at very young players. Kids need coaching and accountability, but they also need encouragement and respect. When games don't go well, the reaction often seemed to swing between yelling and complete disengagement. There were multiple times where he appeared to turn away from the game and focus on his phone instead of actually coaching. We also saw certain players get singled out repeatedly in ways that felt more personal than instructional. If your son is really lucky, he might draw from Coach Alix: "Do you have a brain?" or "Do you understand English?" Yes, productive commentary and rhetorical questions directed at 8 and 9 year olds. For parents coming from AYSO and exploring club soccer for the first time, it's worth knowing that this kind of atmosphere is not typical. There are many clubs where coaches push kids to improve while still treating them with respect and building a real love for the game. Many of the stronger players and families move on, which unfortunately wasn't surprising given the environment. My suggestion: watch several practices and especially games, talk to current and former families, and make sure the coaching style is the kind of environment you want for your child. Subjecting our child to Alix for so long is one of the biggest regrets I have in my 10+ years of parenting.

Our son and his friend started with the club when they were 14 and Chris helped them develop good values, inspired them to develop good study skills, helped them to visualize a successful future, and last but not least, taught them strong volleyball skills and strong team values. We have seen our son's skills and self esteem develop beyond our wildest dreams through our son's involvement with Chris and his team. Spectrum Volleyball Club is far more than a sport - boys develop into wonderful young men by being a part of Chris Harger's team.

I know all parent think there children should play more. But our son was a good player; he was good enough to be on the team. In reality I think he was just good enough for Chris to cash our check. My son did not go back this year to play. There were a few other players on the team that hardly ever played. One boy was really tall and an asset to our team, but he hardly ever played. That player was going out of state to play volleyball; after the season he figure he wasn't good enough to play so changed his college plans and isn't playing volleyball. Our son will continue to play high school volleyball. We were fortunate that his high school coach was so positive. One boy Chris sought out and told the boy he needed him on the team, his parents told me that Chris showed up at one of his games to asked him to play, emailed and called to try and get him back on the team. He hardly ever played the boy, he was sad. He was crushed. This boy was a good player, I saw him in the paper and he made First Team All CIF. So he wasn't a bad player. I hope that boy didn't quit, he was crushed. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. To add insult to injury, he email us with a flyer attached asking us to recommend him to other people. Instead I wrote this review. Hopefully it was save some boys son heartach and some parent some money.
