This policy was not in place when I made the appointment for my kids and I, by luck, happened to get the message in time, under an hour and a half before their new deadline or they would have shamelessly charged me 50 dollars before we even showed up tomorrow to our appointment. When I called the office for clarification from Ashley, she went silent before answering my question, then she said there must be a bad connection. She was incredibly rude, condescending and unapproachable when I sought clarification for this strange policy change. I cancelled the appointment for my kids, and we are now happily going to another dentist with a more respectful and professional practice.

Yesterday, after regular check-ups and cleanings (no x-rays), staff demanded to see proof of legal guardianship (which I originally provided 5 years ago) to talk with me about a treatment plan for a small cavity. When I asked why, I was told that this was because my grandchildren referred to me as "grandma" when asked who brought them to the office. This was clearly discriminatory as staff doesn't require proof of legal guardianship from any other client's parents (which they confirmed). When I asked for written procedures of how to file a complaint I was offered the Havasu office manager's name and phone number, clearly to avoid escalation or resolution of my concern. I insisted on contact information of someone who supervises the entire office and, after 3 verbal requests, I was given a post-it note with handwritten info. I WILL NOT be returning to Kids Little Smiles in Havasu. I will not refer any of my parent friends to this place. I will make friends aware of this discriminatory practice through social media, and I will take my business elsewhere

Second child has two cavities; extraction of one plus the addition of a spacer, and a crown for the 2nd cavity (both on baby teeth). Might get a 2nd opinion before acting. Our pediatrician office uses Summerlin Pediatric Dentistry and I had a really great first impression upon calling and speaking to staff. She explained and taught me so much over the phone since I had questions such as cost, recovery ect. Fast forward to day of appt. Didn't know the office is on the 6th floor and only a certain set of elevators go to this floor in the building! I think when patients are making a NP appt, a heads up about this is necessary. It took over 10 mins for the elevator to arrive and get on. I also went to a different set the first time and ended up being a bit late. I told them it needs to be fixed as soon as possible since we're going out of town for Christmas. My daughter is scared of the dentist and I asked if they could help us with that. But wants to put her to sleep and take X-rays and go ahead and do crowns on every teeth that has the smallest cavity, "it might be 10 teeth that need to be fixed" he said. Also he wanted to be clear and upfront about the fact that he doesn't do fillings on baby teeth, even if the cavity is small!?? Dr. Lo told me that he would refuse treatment on my 5 year old daughter if I didn't let him just do whatever he wanted. I'm beyond livid! How UNETHICAL AND DISHONEST!!! I told him that he can forget about ruining her healthy teeth and I would never accept that! I'm a dental hygienist from Europe and have family members who are dentists and never heard anything more fraudulent than this!! Save your money and your children's oral health and go somewhere else! BIG RED FLAG Please, ask questions and don't accept anything blindly. It's not normal practice to put a crown on a baby teeth and specifically if it's just a small cavity. You want to save the real teeth as much as possible. Crowns/caps are only for severe damage to the teeth.
