We have been at Kids N Us for 3 years and have been happy with it overall. Of course there is turnover in staff, but that is to be expected in childcare. We love the established curriculum, outdoor time rain or shine, and the fun art projects. I am amazed at the way the teachers handle all the kids in the class and make them feel loved. The school seems great about following licensure requirements, and any time there is an incident, I'm notified right away. Like many, I was drawn in by the beautiful lobby- stocked with coffee and snacks, boasting video monitors of each classroom, and high tech security services. Within our first week, we quickly realized this facility was lacking in many areas. The "teachers" were overwhelmed with kids, often unsure of who my child was because of the large turn over of staff. Everytime I picked my daughter up I met a new teacher. My child attended from 7am-5pm and often times did not eat anything the entire day. This is because starting in the toddler class (12 months and older) they are expected to feed themselves with little coaching. They are also expected to immediately transition to one daily nap. The final straw came when my daughter woke up significantly earlier than their scheduled naptime. She was then strapped into a toddler table/chair set (think miniature high chair or tv dinner tray) and sat there from 12:30pm until 2:46pm, when I finally sent my emergency contact to pick her up. There is absolutely no excuse to leave a child strapped into a chair for that long period of time. While the teachers did come by to check on her periodically and pick up the toy she had thrown, no significant interaction was had. When I approached the director about this incident she explained that "Teachers must have their lunches during this period" and that's why she was separated from the group and left to fend for herself. \ The ONLY pro that I will give this facility, is their use of camera systems that parents can access at any time. Wonderful footage presented in real time. Because of this system I was able to watch how they failed to care for my child that day, and make an immediate decision to leave the facility. read more

OOh they removed my earlier review which was also one star! this management can make parents life alot more difficult than it needs to be. They are not careful about their own actions and precautions they need to take for covid, but they will make a big deal out of it if your mask slips down from your nose. We've had a great experience here, in both the infant and waddler rooms. Extremely kind staff, always welcoming when we enter, and easy to bring our daughter in knowing she's in such good hands. She runs inside the classroom every morning happy to be there. You can tell the teachers genuinely care about the kiddos. Clean preschool, some teachers really nice and lovely, new building, my daughter was there for more than a year, preschool 1 with miss Brenda was pretty cool, later she was moved and I wasn't very happy with the new classroom,the main teacher wasn't there when I dropped or picked my daughter up, switching assistants most of the time and they seemed very overwhelmed with the amount of kids in the class, my daughter had a few incidents because of lack of attention, I had to remove my daughter because the covid 19, has been tough for a lot of people ,I didn't like how they managed the situation with the parents in the beginning, very cold and everything about the business and the money, a few days later I learned that they had to be more considerate with the parents. My son has been attending KNU since it opened in 2017 and we absolutely love it! It is amazing to see how much he's grown and learned in the time he has been there. His teachers are dedicated and loving, I would highly recommend sending your kids to KNU! read more

As stated by many, the school is clean and the facility is beautiful. My two boys were enrolled here for 8 months. My older son in pre K, his experience was alright. Learned a lot, had fun playing. My younger son was in preschool 1 and then preschool 2. This is the rooms we struggled in, my son doesn't nap but it was clear the staff replies on nap time for breaks, and he was often getting "in trouble" during nap time. They teachers would hold him in their lap to try and correct him, which he didn't like and there were multiple biting incidents where my son bit other kids or the teachers. We tried many times to come up with a plan to i help, brought special toys for nap time, suggested he could earn stickers for staying on his mat, ect. But we finally withdrew the kids after seeing him sitting on the teachers lap with his blanket wrapped around him, being held at his neck and at his waist, essentially to restrain him, while he was kicking and screaming. When we asked him about it he said he was yelling to have the teacher stop. What my assessment was is that they don't have the staff to pull a child out to calm down if needed and this was their best solution. I think overall the teachers are trying their best, but the preschool room is rough, that's a tough age for kids and the ratios just didn't suite my child's needs. read more

We have had our daughter in the infant room at Kids N Us for a few months now, and it has been going really well. They have been very attentive to her, and are always happy to report on what she did that day when we pick her up. It's nice to have the cameras so we can check in on her every now and then. We have been sending our son now 2.3 years old to this school from the time he was 10 months old. He went from infant to waddler to now pre toddler all in this school. One complaint I have is that they didn't send him to toddler at 2 since they didn't have space. Now with new school year starting in sept I'm guaranteed his transition to toddler class. My son has learnt a lot from here.. he eats on his own most times, knows his abcs, days of the week, months of the year, colours shapes etc. He has really developed a lot over the months going to the school. I recommend it to all my neighbors and friends. They increased the tuition rate for the new semester which is a bummer may be they are banking on it being so full all the time read more

I wish I had a better story.. I am a mother of 3 and I have had experiences with 3 preschool daycare and 1 after school program and never had an issue .. I always loved the staff, ambiance of all those place. Kids n us is quite different. it's like having your kids in some children's hospital... My impression is all the money is put on the fancy lobby, video equipment,... not on education. From start to end the relationship seems to be about money. I had my 4 year old daughter 3 days in there before I pulled her out . I pulled my boys out after 3 hours .. My girl had been through 2 daycares ( we travel a lot) and never cried when I left her . She came the first day all exited about the new school. On day 2 and 3 she was crying for me to stay and holding my leg both morning. So sad.. i witnessed one morning cession on the first day . I guess the parents don't realize what is really going on when they look at the video: kids are seating listening to the the teacher . The video does not have the sound system. So.. long story short in 1/2 hour I heard "  be quiet ", "  it s not your turn to speak ", "  be still " over and over .. before the circle time the teacher tells the kids they each need to read a book by themselves . On video it looks cute. In reality ... it s a LOT of reminder of again being quiet , staying still.. at one point the teacher said "  fine, you are not doing what i said, you took 5 min of my free time so I am going to take away 5 min of your recreational time ".. I was there with my mother who was an elementary school teacher all her life, she could not believe it . So I looked for an other place to put my daughter the same day and we pulled her out after 3 days . i told them my mother will take care of her since my 2 boys were still signed up and I was hoping the program for older kids was better.. My boys started the day I removed my girI went to pick them up at around 5:00pm. There was 2 kids laying down on a couch staring at a TV that was not on, a little girl doing homework , and one of my son drawing . My other boy was just going around in circle . The only teacher in the class was cleaning the floor .. No activities , kids were just waiting in that room .. after we left my older boys was crying in the car begging me to not bring him there ever again. That was also a first, he never had issues with daycares or after school program, always loved it . So sad .. I removed them right away. Also they took the boys in without any record of immunization which Surprised me because I believed it is illegal.. But again the only part that they really cared about when I signed In was the banking information.... So.. if I could put only 0 star I would . Oh and the icing on the cake : my 2 boys stayed 3 hours in there and my girl stayed 3 days. When I removed them all no one asked me why , they just told me I had to pay for 30 days of service. We attended the Mill Creek location since the day they opened. It has been a rollercoaster. The first year or so, things were great, they had an amazing director and the facility was brand new, teachers seemed happy and they were doing a good job. Then they fired the director and everything went downhill, they were constantly out of ratio, no consistency whatsoever in teachers in the classrooms, they stopped communicating with the parents, etc. We waited to see if things would change since it's hard to find a decent daycare these days and the kids were already familiar with the place, but we were never really comfortable since the director left. Fast forward to March this year, and when the whole Covid situation started, they lowered staff and encouraged parents to stop taking the kids unless it was totally necessary to do so, we were completely ok with that, and they continued to charge full tuition without communicating anything for a month. I then found out they were not paying the teachers that were not working, so basically we were all still paying tuition, but the teachers were not getting paid. When I confronted them and asked them what was going on, they began a terrible fight making me feel really uncomfortable, to the point that I decided to pull my kids from that place. The new director is just not in charge of things, the teachers have no direction whatsoever, the place is a mess, and on top of it all, there is no transparency with the parents. So overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Yes, the facility is beautiful, but don't be fooled by that, they only care about making money, their main focus is not caring for our children, it's all just about the money, they don't care about their community. read more

We have our baby in the infants class and love it so much. They do more than just watch the kids; they do a lot of art projects with them and things to help their sensory development and other skills. The teachers seem to really care about the kids. Going back to work full time wasn't easy, but knowing our daughter is in good hands while we're at work has made it much less stressful. read more

Their facility is big, new and clean so I was really positive about starting daycare here. My daughter attended the infant room and I could tell that the teachers in her class did not care enough. Every day when I picked her up her shirt was wet with her drool and they would not change her. There were times she would come back with her bottom still dirty after a diaper change. All babies would be mostly crying and the vibe in the classroom when I would go to drop my child was not welcoming. It seemed as if the teachers were silently saying "why have you come"? There were days my daughter would throw up in class and they would not report it to me. She was vegetarian and there were time they said there was no lunch for her as the kitchen did not make enough vegetarian food, so they fed her a muffin or cherrios for lunch. My daughter went here for 2 months and they had a strict 30-day exit policy. Even though we were unhappy we had to pay for the full 30 days before we could leave. They are just interested in collecting money, they truly do not care about the kids and families. It 100% commercial and very poor service. read more

This is my own opinion and how I felt about this school after sending our children their for more than a year. We loved the school when it opened and to be honest it is clean and the set up is nice (it is new). Our children had a good experience until the previous director left and the the owners opened their headquarters next to the school. The vibe has changed and we felt at this point that all they cared about is to collect money and we were not happy to see the previous director leave especially after they struggled to bring the nice welcoming environment again. They have these substitutes who set in the front desk and they are not as vested or trained to deal with parents, which sometimes makes me wonder why don't they hire someone with people skills. Watch for their leave policy as it is 4 weeks which is not a good policy in case something happened in people's life, how far ahead you plan? Most if not the majority of schools have 2 weeks notice policy, well, that says something and it means they want to take as much from you if it happened to decide to move somewhere else. read more
