My partner and i arrived for a tour, unannounced. We were asked to wait at the door- holding the door open staff came through didn't acknowledge us at all. Once we were asked in, no one asked our names or introduced themselves. the enrollment coordinator walked us through the center, no clear answers to questions about curriculum, teacher retention or did she ask us any questions about what we were looking for etc. the one thing she did say off the bat is that while they do accept DSHS they do not accept children from CPS. Seems a little like discrimination to me... children need a place that they can feel safe in. not sure i would enroll based on the fact that the person giving the tour did not take the time to get some information about us or trey to build that connection with us. Must not want that enrollment that bad. read more

We were here 5 months 2 days/week infant care and paid $1172/month (tuition increased as of 9/1/23). Pros: -self-selected auto-pay schedule -classroom cameras -parent messaging app with picture/video capabilities -cute artwork/crafts -Ms. Vivian (floater) is AMAZING! My son loved her! -Ms. Alaina was great (she has left) -polite and friendly staff Cons: -lack of active supervision= safety concerns. We walked in on another child, ~2 months older, crawling on my then immobile son, who was trapped in a boppy while teachers reorganized cubbies on the other side of the room. On his last day, a child walked up and took all the toys (~5) he was playing with. Then another child (same child as first incident) crawled on top of him, sat on his waist/upper thighs and repeatedly hit his belly ~6 times. An adult was sitting less than 5 feet away and did not intervene, presumably because she did not see it. The child crawled away independently, and I picked my son up early. He did not have any marks on him, or I would have brought it to administration's attention. -communication: I made the mistake of thinking a parent app with opportunities to input meals/diaper changes, message and share pictures/video meant that we would have positive, strong communication. Responses are usually delayed, if received at all, parent requests are not necessarily honored, etc. As a former teacher, I tried to be up front about things going on at home (ie job changes, returning to work, sleep changes/training, etc.), but was met with judgement and push back which I found disappointing and off-putting. I'm paying for daycare, not parenting advice. Daily reports had some inaccuries as to number of feedings (i.e., report says ate 4 times but only sent 5 bottles and 2 sent back unused) and type of milk given (i.e., said my exclusively breastfed baby was given formula then after switching to formula said given breastmilk); however, staff assured me these were reporting errors only and he received only the bottles we sent. -school-like, rigid environment: no drop offs after 10 AM, progress reports though no staff training/education, etc. My baby isn't developmentally ready for school; he's 7 months old. If he needs to take his first nap at home and come in late, he should be able to. Also, I work from home, if I have meetings and cannot drop off until later in the morning, I shouldn't have to ask for permission to bring him late. I pay for the day, whether he comes in or not, so I should be able to bring him in when it's best for us. -This is a business and it feels like it. They nickel and dime you everywhere, you have to provide your own gloves for diaper changes for goodness sakes! -Staff are asked to do too much. My son started daycare at 10 weeks old. We don't have family in the area, so daycare was the first time our son was consistently separated from us, and it obviously caused him some distress. We would pick him up, his eyes/face would be red, puffy, and splotchy. He refused to sleep much and started losing weight from not eating enough. Nearly every time we logged onto the cameras, he was alone in a dark corner on the opposite side of the room from the adults or other children. I thought it would get better, but it went on for ~2 months. Eventually, he started throwing major fits any time we put him in his carseat, and he's usually a very happy baby. This month, a new baby started in his class. Almost every time, except 1-2 times, I walked in, this baby's screaming. He's ~3-4 months, and almost never was he held or picked up unless I commented on how sad he was or talked to him. One time, I stopped to pick up something my husband forgot, and the teacher couldn't hear me knocking in the door over the baby crying, so I walked in. The baby was in the bouncer, next to the counter (he was out of the camera's view), while the teacher did something on the counter with her back to the baby. Upon hearing the door's bell and seeing me, the teacher whipped around and started talking to the baby and bouncing the bouncer. I now know that they left my son to cry alone for God knows how long but would pick him up before we got there which is why his face was always swollen n puffy but he wasn't actually crying. In some ways, I'm unbelievably angry with the staff for treating babies this way. On the other hand, I know they are short-staffed and asked to do way too much. I would have preferred not to receive a "progress report" or fewer cutesy crafts and had my son's emotional needs met. We are now at an in-home daycare where my son is very well cared for. He sleeps 2 hours consecutively (the longest he ever slept at Kids n Us was 40 minutes), he eats all his purees/solids and drinks 12-20 oz (was picking at purees, drank less than 10 oz consistently at Kids n Us). I've heard great things about Kids n Us and really wanted to have a positive experience. Unfortunately, our experience was being charged a premium price for mediocre care. read more

After touring pretty much all the daycares in the area, I am so glad we landed on this one! This is one of the few that offer a part time daycare option. We're in the infant room, and all of the teachers are super sweet. I love the camera system they have because it makes me feel more connected to my baby during the day since I can spy on her and see what she's up to. They also have an app for messaging and for the daily reports that track her diapers and bottles. I really like that we could opt in for them to provide purees, and we chose from a list all of what she could have. It's been hard to find time to cook and provide her a variety of food at 7 months, so I really appreciate them helping her keep up with her repertoire of food! read more

My 18mo old girl has been at Kids n Us for 3 months now, and I am very happy with the care. As a first time mom going back to work, I was SO anxious about leaving her. My main concern was nap time because I co sleep w her ( I know, bad me). But The teachers are kind and gave her extra attention during nap time (patting her, giving her extra attention), and after a few days she adjusted fine to nap time. I also love having access to the webcam app, so I can check in on her whenever I want. Such a relief not to wonder what she's doing, how she's doing, etc. I am overall very happy w the care she is receiving. My LO is in waddler class, btw. read more

I don't even know how to start this review, I'm so excited to write it. Everyone rocks at this center, they all knows the kids by name and totally cares 100%. My son was being cared like a little prince, and every time I look at the camera to see my son I will get so happy with the love his receiving. I wish i can give a ZEROOOOOO for this place. So yes i know being sick is normal in preschool. However; i think the school needs to do something about the SICK policy. No fever: Can still come to school. (oh wow) so my kid has been sick for 3 weeks on and off. talked to one of the representative in the front desk and this is what she said "oh thats normal; and if the child has no fever it ok for them to keep coming to school" no its not OK. because of this my kid had to be run to the ER today cause she had a fever seizure from her being sick of flu for 3 weeks. it is not OK if the kid is having GREEN MUCUS coming down her nose and is sitting with the other kids on the table eating. i saw it myself when i came to drop my child. The teacher didnt wipe it and so she wipe it with her hand and touch her food and table. That is nasty and is a health issues. Not going back to here. Sad cause my daughter loves the teacher. but its not worth it read more

Got my 2 boys out after 3 hours -and my daughter after 3 days- last year because I was appealed by the quality of the " teaching "  I witnessed ( pretty much screaming at the kids while smiling at the camera ..) , and don't follow their own policy ( ex: provide vaccine info before starting school,...) . i had already gave them 2000$ that I wanted back . They wanted 1200$ more ( 1 full month) . I left it as is. 1year letter: I get a letter saying I am about to go to collection! I called them. The accounting lady did not care ( you have to call the school, I just need to enforce the contract, pay by the end of the week or we are putting your up to collection) I am speechless.. After moving to the area, my family was looking for a new childcare facility for our 1 year old. Kids N Us has been in the region for over 30 years and has a great reputation! I've enjoyed interacting with the staff and administrative support team - they were very accommodating and helpful during the registration process. My child enjoys attending here, and rarely do we have those Mommy-please-don't-go-days! In fact, she often doesn't want to leave in the evenings! Love being able to see my child at any time on the video app, and receiving pictures throughout the day is great as well! We love Kids N Us! read more

I have left comments in the past about the Everett Kids N Us preschool and my feelings are still the same. My daughter has attended this location for almost 4 years and my son started once he turned a year old because I've had such wonderful experiences with them from the start. I love that I can watch my children from the time I drop them off (or they pick up my daughter from her elementary school) till I pick them up. I always know what they are going to eat for snacks and lunch are healthy in house made foods from Ms. Toni. The communication is open in person as well as online via the app and emails I receive throughout the day. The lesson plans are all age appropriate and fun. When the school days are out the school agers are taken out to do different activities and not just sitting around all day. I LOVE Kids N Us Everett and always recommend it to my friends and family. read more

This location is great! I recently transferred my three kids (ages 6, 7, and 9) here from La Petite Academy and let me tell you the change has made all the difference. My kids are actually happy when I pick them up! The teachers regularly interact with and do activities with kids. My middle child is dealing with some issues recently and the staff here has been great at helping him work through his problems. Everyone is so friendly and gives off a warm vibe. I would highly recommend this day care to anyone! read more

We've been going to the Everett location of Kids N'Us since 2016. We've overall had a great experience there-- our daughter loves coming to school and seeing her friends and teachers. The front office staff is very helpful and know each of the kids and their families by name. The owners seem to invest their money back into each of the locations -- recently they revamped the Everett location. The Mill Creek location is absolutely beautiful too. Only thing is there seems to be alot of turn over when it comes to the teachers/teachers aids in the younger kids classes. read more

After having a stay-at-home parent for the first year, we were terrified of transitioning into daycare but they made us feel at ease with the ability to watch anytime during the day with the camera app and reports about his day each day too. This place has its ups and downs. Overall I really liked it at first. The staff is good at being friendly while parents are present. Over time they have forgotten to feed my child once when he was two and recently he was asked to leave the table WITHOUT food for talking during lunch. The pre K room always smells like urine and the teachers talk badly of one another and management. I would not recommend this place unless you know someone who works there who will look out for your child. read more

I really did like this day care they have always met my expectations - however now that my daughter is no longer enrolled there and is just a drop in I see their true ways. I am not longer going to be returning to kids n us - if you have a child under be age of one I do recommend you take your baby there their infant room is great and so are the women in there but be aware of your child turns one, is not walking and not able to self feed themselves do not continue here - they will move your BABY into a classroom like room with toddlers, the teachers make you feel uneasy about leaving your kids there and wonder if your child will even be feed (mine was there for 4 hours and did not finish a bottle which is unlike her) the staff is usually great however today was just horrible and I will not be returning. Our children need to be treated as individuals not just by age group. read more

Kids n Us has been amazing. My son is currently enrolled in their toddler class. The entire staff has been awesome to work with. I really feel like he is learning so much in his class. The daycare is clean and organized. They're sign in/ sign out system is all electronic. They also have live cameras to see your child's class at any point. I get a picture of him on their app almost everyday, sometimes several. My son and I love this daycare! read more

Wow , just WOW. I have looked for a great daycare and let me say this, my daughters been here since February and so far it's the best I've seen. She's in the *waddler* room and I love it, not only do they make sure your kids are taken care but they make sure to fit your needs, the wonderful ladies in the front do the same ! My daughter is one special girl and I don't think I'd trust another daycare for her to go too after this place. They have worked with us since day one to the fullest! My daughter has some special things that need to happen during the day and they have always accommodated these. I am so happy for them and I appreciate it more than anything! Trust me , I'm a hard person to please. I can honestly say that this is one of the best daycares up here and so glad I found it! This is not the place for you if your child has any kind of special need. The ratio is 15 to 1 and they mean it. There is absolutely no accommodation, they won't even try. They are also more expensive. Average Western Washington child care rates according to wa.childcareaware.org 2017 is $646 for before and after school care. They charge $720 plus $15 additional per day for non school days and an extra $10 for early release days. This puts them in the category of a nanny, which I just hired for the same price who can give my child all the attention he needs. One of the front staff was also very passive aggressive. I could not recommend this location. read more

If you care about your child, don't take them here. They had my 3 month old daughter in a swing, crying for hours. She was in a swing for over 3 hours in one day (including sleeping) to top it off the swing was broken and didn't even swing. Washington state has guidelines that regulate a child in a swing to 20 minutes per day. When I picked her up she was dripping in sweat with poop all the way up her back. I took her home and never returned. After two months of unreturned phone calls I finally received an email from the CEO, Amber B.,who said she doesn't feel like retuning my phone call would be productive so she decided to email me instead. read more

Mostly I just want to make parents away that they need to read the paperwork closely before paying any money. My husband and I were in desperate need of childcare for this fall and didn't realize when we started searching it would be hard to find 6 months in advance. When we found a spot at Kids N Us were very excited. We had to pay two weeks tuition in advance of 770 and 200 registration fee. They never went over anything in the packet with us it was up to us to read which is fine I just should have done that before spending almost 1000.00. We hadn't been prepared to pay so much up front to lock in a space but that seems to be the way it is. In June our situation changed and we no longer needed our spot. I expected to give up the 200.00 but thought the two week tuition would be given back since there was a waitlist and they would fill the spot easily. I was surprised when I called to find out they were keeping all of our money. They were not mean about it just matter of fact and when I looked in our paperwork it was there. I just wish that is would have been made know to us verbally before we paid the money but at that time we needed the spot so it probably wouldn't have made a difference. I just think people should full know what they are committing to. It is very unfortunate that this company which is all about being local and for families gets 970 for nothing. I completely understand losing the registration fee but the tuition that they would get from someone else doesn't really seem like great customer service. I could see if they couldn't fill the spot but I know how in demand infant spots are and I don't think that would be the case with 2.5 months notice. Just want to warn parents if they are on a ton of waitlists be careful giving money unless it's your first choice because here you won't get it back. read more
