I had cancelled my sons appt day of due to him having a runny nose and a cough i took him to the doctor that day and was told he was contagious i immediately called because as a parent I was putting the other children and staff first not to spread germs . We rescheduled for the following Monday in hopes he would be better , they are closed on the weekend so I couldn't provide 24 hours notice to tell them he was still sick and I didn't think it was a good idea to bring him in where other children would be , something some people would think is responsible ,so come Monday morning i called at 8 am first thing to let her know my son would not be in until he was well ! Ashley decided to argue with me and tell me i have to pay $50 , I then told her fine ill just bring him in sick if that's what would make them happy because I am not paying more than what my copay is , she didn't want a sick child in the office but still wanted to charge me $50 . THAT IS DISGUSTING ! trying to do the right thing as a parent and keep the germs away from others and you want to charge me for it , i could see if i was cancelling just at random for no good reason BUT MY CHILD WAS SICK AND CONTAGEOUS. So after arguing and being forced to reschedule she told me I couldn't have my Monday appt and settled on a Thursday as frustrated as I was with how rude Ashley is I decided id give it another try because the therapist Jessica was great . WELL , Jessica calls Monday and tells me I'm 10 minutes late for my appt , I said my appt is Thursday she told me I would have to take it up with Ashley in the morning , fine ! I call Ashley in the morning and as per usual she is rude , and combative , demanding money so I told her clearly this is not going to be a good fit . I told her I can not afford to take my son in twice a week , she told me I should have the money because it was for the previous weeks appts ..WHO IS SHE TO TELL ME HOW I SHOULD HAVE FUNDS ? first off I have to take off work to bring my child and doing that twice in a week does not work for me so I'm not sure where she gets off pinning what and where my money should be going the balls on her ! It is disgusting how this place is being run I can't imagine how many people bring their sick children into this establishment so they don't have to pay $50 to miss an appt doing the right thing exp to save time and a headache with arguing with someone as rude as Ashley ! If you do decide to go here , make sure you wash your hands , maybe even wear a mask because you probably have to be on your death bed to miss an appt with these people !

SMH unreal considering the therapist knew exactly how to handle him. She had never had a problem with him. The owner on the other hand who was stepping in did not even have a clue how to deal with him. Of course because he's non-verbal at all of his other issues he was confused. So he started the only thing he knows to do because he can't talk and that was pulling on her needless to say that upset her. Truthfully I believe she is in the wrong profession. Again both my boys go there and they had great therapist not-so-great the owner. At one point I highly recommended this place now I would say don't take your child there especially if they're not a typical child SMH. They don't mind collecting the insurance money but yet this lady was unprepared to deal with a child of his disabilities yes. She did not have a clue what was wrong with him she must not have taken the time to even look at his file. It's extremely difficult to put in words how much BCOTB has meant to us and our son. However, I…read morewant other parents to know how special this place is, so I'll try... Our son had just turned 2 and my wife was concerned with a couple behaviors he had been exhibiting. They were rather subtle, so I didn't pick up on anything. This was very much "mother's intuition." Even our pediatrician thought he was fine. We took him to see a child psychologist to be proactive (Dr. Danielle Sutton in Tampa was amazing), and after observation, she diagnosed him with ASD. It was difficult to hear, but we got him into therapy right away. He has been going to BCOTB since April 2015 and he absolutely loves it. He has worked with several therapists since then and they are all amazing, special people who we trust completely. In the past few years, it has been nothing short of remarkable to see his progress. When looking at the charts that quantify his progress, it shows him almost caught up to where he should be. But as his dad and interacting with him, I don't need to see charts to tell how much BCOTB has helped him. We feel absolutely blessed to have BCOTB in our lives. We actually took our son to see Dr. Sutton 6 months into therapy to see what she thought of his progress. She was ecstatic. She made a comment that I thought was worth sharing. After observing our son, she said (and I'm paraphrasing) "Whatever BCOTB is doing is working wonders. Unfortunately, many kids come in after going to an ABA clinic, and they just do 'pony tricks.' It's not really developmental progress or social skills and it gives ABA a bad name." And I wanted to say, as a dad/parent, don't be afraid. If you feel something is off with your child, no matter how slight, take your child to be evaluated. Don't be so afraid of a potential diagnosis that you don't get them the help they need. The sooner you intervene, the bigger the impact therapy can have. I have seen other parents "wait it out" and hope their child catches up, and it's heartbreaking. Every day counts.
