As a parent of 2 children who have been enrolled over the past 2 years (our oldest is aging out and moving to Kindergarten in Sept), we have watch the children transition from the Toddler room and into the Pre-School and then Pre-Kindergarten rooms. All the teachers show that they care for the children and are open and approachable. The daily photos and summary e-mails allow you to see what is happening with the children and the teachers take the time to write a note if necessary so that you know if there was a particularly good thing or something that you might want to address. The owners are on-site and are actively involved in the running of the location and their child is a student so it is great to see their active involvement and also know that they want the best for the children. During the COVID-19 shutdown, they set up Zoom sessions for all the kids as well as posted the teachers reading stories and doing activities on Facebook to allow the kids to keep interacting and it was great for my children to see their classmates on Zoom and be able to talk with them, as opposed to just staying home.

In fact, Children's Village turns 50 this year, incredible. Like another reviewer said, CV is best at what matters most - individualized, sincere, caring attention by highly educated and trained people who really know how to help children blossom. I cannot say enough good things about CV and it broke my heart to leave when we moved to NJ. The amazing teachers and the wonderful director, Rupal, are extremely detail-oriented and their love for the children is so apparent every day. The center itself is thoughtfully designed as well to allow lots of natural light via large windows and they don't employ garish, overly-bright colors everywhere that I see in so many daycares. Additionally, a majority of the staff lack any educational expertise and seem to view this job as glorified babysitting. Management seems to hire anyone who walks through the door just so they can enroll more families and make more money. This puts a heavy burden on the good staff. No quality curriculum is taking place. My kids never come home with any artwork or projects. The kids are just not learning anything. The center is filthy. I don't think anyone knows how to sweep or mop. I have had to step through my child's classroom to get their backpack and I am disgusted with the state of the classrooms. I truly believe the teachers are so burnt out, they are just too tired to clean. And it shows. There are a handful of wonderful teachers who seem to care about the kids; but unfortunately, that is way overshadowed by the negative vibes in this place. There is a child in my son's preschool classroom (Kairo is the child's name) that has extremely aggressive and violent behavior. My child fears going to class because of him. I have spoken with the Director Heather numerous times about this and it seems nothing is being done and my concerns are being pushed aside. This child needs special help that he cannot get in a large group setting. I know multiple parents have the same concerns about this child. Today 3/12/2020 at around 6:30 pm after all parent picked up their kid. The center sent out an…read moreemail to parents stating the center will be closed the next day morning until the end of the month for now due to the Corona Virus. Unlike other daycare which gives at least 24 hours notice. They decide to avoid any conversation with parents in person and just shot out an email after all parents leave with their children. Closing of the center to prevent community spread is understandable. However, the Center still demand parents to pay for the full tuition which is over 100 dollar a day while it remains closed is not very reasonable. In a time like this, school employees still need to get paid and the money comes from either the owner of the facilities or all the parents, but I wonder if they are getting their full-salary while parents paying full tuition or they are only getting paid on a discounted rate because that would be a shame.

We were with them through first steps, first solids, first words, navigating a pandemic, potty training, having a sibling, losing teeth, learning to ride a bike and write their name, making friends and becoming self-assured and self-sufficient 5 year olds that were ready to make a seamless transition to Kindergarten. Not only is the facility and outdoor play spaces beautiful, but the school follows a curriculum that is shared each week and brings in outside companies, librarians and more to do specialized activities onsite as well. From bike days to pizza/pj fundraisers, apple pie making for Thanksgiving, to art shows, there was always something to look forward to. When we looked at many daycares when my first child was born, this school stood out leaps and bounds above the rest for having an educational plan in place, not just child care. I can't thank the Goddard School enough for the role they have played in such formative years for my children. The teachers care about the kids like family.

That doesn't look like pure coincidence to me at all. A truly safe and well-managed daycare should address parents' safety and communication concerns directly, rather than PR management. ORIGINAL COMMENT: Our experience at LPC was disappointing, especially considering the cost. What concerned us most was the lack of transparency and communication when issues arose. Over a relatively short period of time, our child came home with multiple injuries, and we often felt we were not getting clear explanations about what had happened. Some incidents were not documented, and attempts to discuss our concerns did not lead to productive conversations. We also noticed a level of stress and low morale among staff that made us uncomfortable. Every family has to make their own decision, but based on our experience, we would not choose this center again. Not recommended at all.

LPC has truly become part of our family (so much so that we return for alumni events each year!!). The staff, including the new director Karen, are doing a wonderful job creating a play-based environment where children are encouraged to be curious, imaginative, and kind. Both of our children thrived at LPC. They developed confidence, independence, curiosity, and meaningful friendships in an environment where they felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. As parents, there is nothing more reassuring than this. Highly recommend!!
