My son attended summer camp here and they did a good job growing his enthusiasm in new subjects and activities. I really like arts and crafts that are offered. We participated at Kidsmart for spring break camp. My kid is a little on the younger side and did not enjoy the "robotic" or science class at all. He said it's boring and teacher did not help him understand what was going on. The science class outcome was a paper cup with seeds in dirt which my kid said he did the first scoop of the dirt and the rest was done by the teachers. What a waste of time and poorly designed classes. The teachers were ignorant and absentminded upon drop off and pick up. Did not even make eye contact with parents. We have been a part of the kidsmart family for almost 3 years, since my daughter started kindergarten. They have never missed a day of pickup. The teachers and the management have gone above and beyond to take care of my kid. Over the last year, the new management has made a bunch of additions including new floors and a variety of enrichment classes and camps. I had an awful experience here. The teachers don't know what they're doing. They don't care about the kids at all. Multiple times I've seen kids watching tv. They failed my son, and couldn't care less about his well being. They locked him out of the classroom into an empty room by himself, then they continued to ignore him while he was screaming in fear. They didn't work with him to make him a better student. They wanted nothing to do with him. On top of all this the place is dirty and breaking down. My son has been going to KidSmart for over a year now. This has been excellent experience for him and us. We love that they offer various enrichment programs in addition to after school care, like Mad science , Art, Lego Robotics. All of these have been favorite for my kid. The teachers, Ms. Shilpa, Ms. Varsha, Ms. Pratiti and Ms. Preethi are very caring and understanding. They pay special attention to each kid and teach them to become good citizens. My son has been going to Kidsmart for more than a year now. When he joined, it was his first time in an after school and he cried a lot on the first day because he did not want to be away from me. All the teachers stepped up to the challenge and made sure that he was comfortable there within a week. Now, if I reach a bit early - he wants to stay there longer coz he still wants to play with his friends. They have a good mix of everything- fun, play, learning and discipline! Ms. Shilpa (the owner) is very approachable and warm to talk to. Pick up from Fostet City school is provided which is a big boon for us. My daughter joined Kidsmart when she was in Kindergarten. She had so much fun and learned a lot. She never complained about anything and was always looking forward to being there. It is one of the best Afterschool program around Foster city. My son was with Kidsmart Academy for 1 complete school year and he really enjoyed it. He always looked forward to go there after school. The point of interest as a mom, for me, was that it was a holistic after school program as they helped with homework, they had art classes, chess classes, science classes and also kept kids busy by making them play games, some dance time and taking them to the park nearby. And as kidsmart is an all year program, I did not have to search another place for him during the school vacation/break time. During break they always have camps with interesting topics. This place was poorly managed by unprofessional owners. They discriminate against some children, make unfounded assumptions, and are only there to look out for their own financial interest. I had sent my children to this place for a week's worth of camp over the summer. They complained about it being boring, and the Lego robots not working. But I still decided to send them in for a one-off day camp for when their school was closed.---what a bad decision this turned out to be! Upon drop-off, the owner (Shilpa) pulled me to the side, and cautioned me not to let my son 'act wild' and break her 'expensive' computers. When I asked whether this is because something had happened in the previous week, she replied 'not at all'. Instead, this is solely because I had identified him as having ADHD in the registration form. She said 'we don't usually take in special-needs kids. But I'm giving you an exception today.' EXCUSE ME??? First of all, ADHD does not necessarily qualify as a 'special need' and even if it does, how can any childcare business institute a blanket ban to discriminate against ALL children with special needs? And how could anyone automatically equate having ADHD with wild and unruly behaviors that would result in things breaking? Instead of asking me what ADHD means for my child and how to best work with him, Shilpa made the completely unfounded assumption about my son and decided to preemptively label him as the 'problem child'. And her sole focus was on her school property, not at all the child or care she was supposed to provide. It gets worse, Shilpa went on to say she had made 'another exception' for 'another child with special needs', whom I happened to car-pool with and drop off that morning. My jaw dropped---when I said she shouldn't share any private information about any other children with me, she said 'but you are dropping him off so it's OK'. EXCUSE ME??? I was dropping him off, but I was not this child's parent or legal guardian. She had absolutely NO knowledge of my relationship with this child, or their parents. How could she divulge student information like this? read more

This place not camp place for your kid. Drop off in the morning before 9am: All the early drop off kids were standing around and staring at each other. There were few broken toys for kids to play. The first time I dropped my son, I saw kids were playing with office folding chairs. Another time, the "teacher" was on the phone who didn't say hi or check in the kid. And a girl came over to us and tried to settle my son in the room. The class: The robot class is shady. My son, 5 years old had never had working robot at the end of the day. They paired the older kid with young ones and relied on the older kid to make the robot with without instruction. Environment: This is place is not clean at all!!! The foam blocks that the kids playing with are almost black (should be in the colors). The carpet is very dirty. We ended up staying a whole week for the camp since we booked on activity hero and had to pay a lot to cancel. But we will never return back. FYI, I'm not the kind of mom who needs everything perfect for my child. But this place is really not healthy and safe for your kid. read more

Putting our 1st grader into Kidsmart Academy was the best decision we made. He comes home daily talking about what he learned through their hands-on science projects and class sessions. He memorized the order of planets and their names, does root word play adding suffixes and recently has been exploring and searching for onomatopoeia examples. Kidsmart conveniently picks up our child from school and provides a snack while in their care. My son looks forward to his after school program and when we pick him up from the Academy, he asks for a little more time to finish his work or say goodbye to his friends.
