1.13.25 Kiehl's is a family run apothecary located in New York City. They have a storefront in the Atlanta Airport. I stopped because of an eye puffiness picture on the wall. It's no secret that women of color like myself, deal with or will deal with eye puffiness as we age. So I met Lena, who works in the Concourse B location. We laughed and talked about eye care, facial care and application sanitation. I learned some stuff during our meaningful conversation. Lena suggested Kiehl's creamy eye treatment with avocado. Avocado oil moisturizes the delicate eye area. Squalane oil acts as an emollient to aid in the skin's moisture loss. It helps hydrate the skin which is the underlying cause of eye puffiness. We laughed because I said, I've tried everything under the sun. I do mean everything. Lena said that I hadn't tried this. After deeper conversation, I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. Lena said that my eyes will look brighter. Yes, they do. Lena said that the puffiness will start reducing in a day or two. YES, it is day 2 today (1.15.25) and the puffiness is almost non visible. I should have taken a before and after picture. Not only that, Lena gave me some samples to try. One is Calendula Herbal Extract Toner. This toner is used to balance the skin's natural oils and soothe the skin. It's good for all types of skin. The 2nd is for Corrective Dark Spots. I'm going to share this with my daughter. Their soaps and grooming products are always great to give as gifts and people appreciate them since the quality is very good. Another high-end skin care shop employing people who know little to nothing about skin care... Or the products they sell, apparently. Fortunately for me, I did my homework. I was looking up eye creams that contain pro-retinol and this one came highly rated. It's the "Youth Dose Eye Treatment" with pro retinol, red grape seed extract, and Vitamin C. I had a few questions about this product, but none of the previous Kiehl's stores I visited seem to have the product in stock. During my layover in Atlanta, I was able to pop into the shop and, to my surprise and relief, they did have what I was looking for. I asked Bukola, the sales associate, a few questions about the eye products in the store. In hindsight much of what she recited sounded relatively scripted... And flat-out wrong. I asked her how the product I was interested in worked. She had no clue about pro-retinol in general or how it works. But she was quick to tell me that she used the product. Everyday. Yeah...Okay. She also tried to upsell me on another product containing only one of the three ingredients contained in the product that I planned to purchase. I asked her what this additional product would do that my product wouldn't do, and she couldn't give me an answer other than, "Oh, it's a serum". Okay, but what is it do that this other product doesn't do?? "Well... the other product is a cream" *Okay, but what does it do that this other product doesn't do??* Right about that time, some very animated (possibly drunk) character, who I discerned used to work in the store (during his conversation with the sales associate, he insisted that he 'wasn't fired', so there's that...) walked in. He swore up and down that he also used the product ("uh huh...") and that it was so great, "it's like an orgasm for your eyes". Uh-huh. Bukola saw his arrival as an opportunity to get out of answering questions she obviously didn't have the answer to, but before I made the purchase I ask one more question. I noticed that the product label claimed to ...'brighten the appearance of the under-eye area." I've purchased enough eye creams to recognize marketing when I see it, and that kind of language usually means they add a very high-end version of glitter to diffuse light away from the dark spots and make the area "appear" brighter. So I asked her if this product contain any of that "light diffusing glitter" stuff. She insisted that it didn't, and reiterated that again it was just a cream. When I got home, imagine my surprise when I apply the product and saw hundreds of tiny shimmers around my eyes. ...but she uses this product "everyday", right? Hmm. If I'm out here spending $40 on an eye cream, please respect me enough not to bullshit me. If you haven't used the product, say so. Instead, share with me experiences that your other customers have had. What do they say about it? That's not a ding on the product itself. I've read good things about it and I'm willing to give it 30 days before I render my final judgment. However, I definitely encourage you to do your own research, because the sales associates know little to nothing besides what they are told about the products they're selling. read more

Yes, I am a beauty products junkie. I love the way it all smells, the way it makes me feel, and the freshness of it all. Located in ATL Concourse B near TGI Fridays, if I am in said area, I make a trip to stop by, if only to try the hydration spray that is excellent for drying skin in flight. Service is helpful and friendly without being overbearing, and am I happy many of the products are available to sample. It's right next door to another fabulous place that carries Lancomb products and perfumes. read more

I'm a fan of this brand. I discovered them online and have never actually seen a physical store so I got uber excited! Seriously excited. The dude working was very nice and tried to be helpful. I was planning on stocking up on a few of the hair items I usually order, but bummer this store didn't carry it. The guy told me since this is in an airport they limit their stock vs other stores. I still ended up with a lotion I wanted to try. Got my free samples. It's all good. Their products are awesome. read more
