i love kiehl's products! i use their ultra facial cream and love love love their retinol skin renewing daily micro dose serum! i was able to book a complimentary healthy skin analysis + mini facial about a month back.. i walked into the store a few mins prior to my appt time and i was greeted by jesse! i didnt know what to expect when booking my appointment. it did not help that i was in the sun the day before doing yoga ..without sunscreen.. ik ik boy did that analyzer show everything!!! the scan was pretty comprehensive! i wish i got a copy of it! but it was neat, it showed every pore, eye puffiness, visible redness, clogged pores, visible pores, dark circles, uv damage, brown spots..omg so much, even how hydrated my skin is!! jesse is amazing, so patient with me while i asked all my questions! jesse explained everything step by step and in detail, jesse really knows his stuff! anyhoo, loved the experience, everyone should book an appointment to get their skin analyzed and then purchase kiehl products bc everything is really lightweight and feels so nice on your skin. highly recommend it!!! it took about 45m my face felt so fresh and hydrated the skin analysis was able to provided us with an entire skincare routine, both AM and PM confirmed my skin is naturally oily i ended up purchasing the powerful strength line reducing & dark circle diminishing vit c eye serum i have a cleanser and toner that i am already using but once i finish those products, will def be back to purchase the line up that my face needs! located inside the village , across from sephora parking: surface and parking garage read more

I came in today to pick up an online order and left really disappointed with the service. When I walked in, there were two associates at the counter and no other customers in line. One of them, Michelle, offered to assist me. She found my order, grabbed the product, and began to finish the pickup process. Since this was an online pickup, I had already paid, she only needed to hand me the product and print the receipt. However, right as she was about to do that, another customer walked up behind me in line. Instead of completing my pickup, she suddenly stopped helping me and switched to assist him, saying he was there first. That made no sense because there was no one waiting when I arrived, and she had already been helping me. To make matters worse, by the time she turned to that customer, the second associate had already started helping someone else , leaving me awkwardly standing off to the side for several minutes over what should've been a 30-second pickup. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. If she was in the middle of something else, she shouldn't have taken my order in the first place. So sadly I don't love this store as much as I used to. Saeed was the best and was always beyond helpful and warm. I've been in the store a handful of times since he's left and I feel as though I'm almost intruding. The associates are not exactly helpful and I feel like I'm interrupting them. If I dare ask for a sample of a new product, I'm met with daggers. (I buy a TON of their products so not sure how this is in any way an inconvenience) I think the company as a whole has taken a step back from customer service (used to be a strong point) My status was always at the highest tier due to the amount of product I purchase, but they have a lot of kinks in their online system where I need to contact them to resolve things. Not sure if this is due to the associates in the Manhattan store not counting my purchases or recyclables but its been a pain. I'm out for the Manhattan Beach store, and will try Torrance since Ive had luck with Bonnie there, but might just be time to find another skin care line. read more

Just spent $153.31 on a mask that had a broken seal. I noticed as soon as I got to my car. I reached out to them, and they refused to help me and told me to come back on a different day. I was super excited to use the product. Unacceptable! I struggled with acne as a teenager and overall had unhealthy skin for most of my adult life. In addition to not eating healthy, I put little to no effort in educating myself on skincare. Not only does the store look incredible in terms of product placement, but the employees are all exceptional. They are professional and knowledgeable. I don't ever get a pushy/sales vibe from them. On my very first visit, Matthew helped me select products that would work best with my skin type. Since then, I have really stuck to a day/night routine. I feel and can see a huge difference and I get tons of compliments on my skin to which I respond "It's gotta be Kiehl's because I'm getting no sleep with a new baby at home". I never expected this to happen so when trying to return the merchandise, I was rejected just like that! I am strongly in like with Kiehl's! I've been to the flagship store in New York City on multiple occasions, so I was really happy to find that there is one in Manhattan Village. The sales associates are helpful, knowledgeable about the products and are genuinely personable. I can see how it would be awkward recommending beauty products to customers: how do you suggest helpful products without coming across as judgmental? The sales associates here are able to navigate such situations smoothly. Kiehl's has great products, there's no doubt about it. Their Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque is effective and in high demand--it's always sold out online, and I was lucky enough to come to the store on a day when they had some in stock. I also like their face moisturizer-SPF 15 sunscreen and their toning products (you can feel the cooling/firming effects as soon as you put them on!) In general, I like that Kiehl's has plenty of product information on their labels, enough to help differentiate between similar concoctions. Other quick suggestions: 1) Ask for samples if they don't automatically ask you. They have almost every product ready for you to try at home. 2) Sign up for their emailing/points list. I wish I didn't have to write this review because this store has always been my favorite because of the fantastic employees they have. Margo was amazing! She remembered me even three months after my first visit and really listened to my concerns. She helped me find what I wanted and what my skin needed. Two weeks ago, I went into the store to restock up on the items I had been using. Margo was not there but a short, bald employee approached me saying if I wanted a skin consultation. I knew what I wanted but I thought sure it couldn't hurt. He completely recommended the opposite of what I had been using and it seemed like he already had an agenda. He was really pushy and persistent that I needed those items and completely ignored my dry and sensitive skin concerns. I told him I didn't want anti-aging products and that I was more concerned in keeping my skin healthy and hydrated due to my sensitive skin. He continued to push those items. I'm in my 20s so it seemed weird he recommended those items and it seemed like he was trying to reach his sales goal more than to help me. I bought the items in order to leave but I'll be returning them and contacting costumer service as well. The calendula wash made my skin feel so flaky and the serum for wrinkle reducing burned me. I've never felt so uncomfortable and ignored. I don't think I'll walk into that store if I see he's there. read more

I'm actually not a customer but as I was sitting at one of the tables in the mall I saw one of the women who worked inside run after a couple of women who had just left the store. I overheard the employee say that right after they left she realized the one woman was accidentally charged twice for an item and that she wanted to make sure it was fixed. This was so great to witness. That employee could have easily just said oops, my bad, and let the customer leave. Big props to the honesty and effort made to rectify the mistake! read more

Kiehl's line of mens products WORK. I have been using their full line of products for a few years now with great success. I start the day with the facial fuel energizing face wash and end it with the oil eliminator. Both of these work extremely well and compliment my sensitive and unfortunate oily skin. To moisturize and stay young and beautiful I use the Facial fuel heavy lifting anti-aging moisturizer. It has a thicker consistency but does not feel greasy or heavy. If you have dry areas that need more attention touch up with the classic facial fuel moisturizer. For body, both the activated sun protection sunscreen and anti perspiring deodorant are effective and again very gentle on sensitive skin. The sunscreen sets quickly and has a very minimal scent. as does the deodorant. The body fuel body wash is a great way to start an end your day, love the smell and the energized feeling it gives off. Some other products to not be forgotten are Kiehl's bar soap and chap stick; eye alert is great after those long nights when your look is not on point. So the products work great, we get it. Why I enjoy going into the store is the smaller more focused experience. This Manhattan Beach location is closest to home. Every time I go in (which is often) I get the attention and knowledge needed to make well informed and pleasant purchase. Take a second to get on the loyalty program, there are easy saving to be found here. I am sorry to say that Matthew at this location sold me the Powerful Strength Eye serum. He was really nice but when I tried a product he recommended I experienced a burning sensation around my delicate eye area. Matthew said it was the concentrated Vitamin C in the product and that this was normal. I trusted the sales person and wanted to try a new product which turned out to be a two day nightmare of hives and two episodes of my entire torso burning. Never had a reaction to cosmetics before or anything else for that matter. I was literally burning from the inside out, almost went to the ER with redness and a full upper body rash with hives running down my leg. Went to CVS and begged the Pharmacist for advice at midnight that kept me from a late ER visit accompanied by a hefty bill. It took me two days to realize that my new Khiels eye serum was the culprit. first ingredient is Propylene Glycol look this nasty chemical up. When I stopped using it.. All my symptoms disappeared like magic. Check the ingredients before you buy. Propylene glycol should be high on your avoidance list. Do not ingest it or place it on your skin. Sometimes it is used in toothpaste also. Manufactures are sneaking this chemical substance into our products. Even if you don't break out like i did... It can cause other problems and you will never be the wiser. Do your research! What an ordeal, because I did not do mine that day in the friendly Khiels store. Also, the label on the product I bought was in spanish...hmm i could not read the ingredients until I went back and found the box it came in? Why is Manhattan Village selling a product with a foreign language on the bottle itself, while the outside box is in English? Aren't these people from New York?? The whole experience was sketchy. Maybe not all their products have propylene glycol amongst many other chemicals, but this one bottle did. And you need to steer clear, trust me. read more
