This is my go-to Sephora spot and, as always, I had a lovely experience. I specifically went to the Manhattan Beach location to get a "skin scan" done in store to see if 1. my recent online purchase of a new foundation was the correct needed shade and 3. was there anything in particular that I should be working on for my current skin care & condition. I was assisted by cast member Stephanie and she was absolutely wonderful. She was able to help me with my skin-scan (I now know that I need to up my hyaluronic acid application for my dry skin) as well as helping me exchange my online foundation purchase for another shade closer to my complexion needs. I must say that cast members like Stephanie are wonderful to interact with. She was warm, kind, and very helpful with my concerns regarding my (gasp!) aging skin. This Sephora location has always been organized, well stocked, and clean during my visits; today was no different than before. I appreciate that I can almost always spot a cast member cleaning/stocking the store at any given time. I also enjoy that this location never seems to be overrun and crowded, as my mobility issues make being in crowded stores a bit hard in me. read more

I've been here a couple of times over past few years, and I have to say it used to be much better in the past. I liked this store for the variety of brands and product lines they carry, but after the most recent experience I wouldn't want to return. The customer service barely exists here anymore, not all but some of their beauty advisors aren't willing to help and so impatient with questions. Came in here looking for a few options to back up my purchase a few weeks ago of the latest Channel Blue for men. I wanted to look for a viable second and third option since I definitely don't rock the Chanel every single place I go. LOL So I headed to the men's section of colognes, and while I didn't settle on any particular brands, there were a nice selection to choose from. What would have been nice is if they had a few more people out on the floor as their were hoards and hordes of customers waiting on service. This says nothing of the immense line that people who were ready to buy something had to wait in. In fact, I got borderline claustrophobic. The few interactions I did have were pleasant, but it just came off as though the workers there were overwhelmed. They probably need to look into hiring a few more people as we head deep into retail season. read more

I'd love to be able to give this place 0. The staff have zero customer service skills. I asked for help to match my foundation. I was told someone would be there in 4 min. I was standing for 15 min, no one came to help. I followed up with two different sales rep, still no one came. Someone else asked for helped at the register and was helped right away. Sales reps passed me by multiple times and no one offered to help. I will not be buying from Sephora again. Their service in store is absolutely ridiculous. I ended up buying from the Mertit website directly. Horrible experience to say the least. read more

So again, just like so many chain stores, customer service makes all the difference. This is not a huge store, but they do have a nice variety of items, especially the higher end. And of course they carry the house brand. What I was so excited about was to learn some new product products because I'm always using the same thing. Our gal Allie hooked me up! She didn't even make me buy anything, but she explained about a couple of new products and that really educated me. I was looking for something very specific and hard to find cbd lux body oil/serum that we are actually on our 3rd bottle of :) I saw that this location carries it and called the store for when they opened on Wednesday and they only had one bottle in stock for me and put it on hold for me to come in and pick up. They didn't have to do this for me but they made a one time exception because I needed it asap and this was the only place in the tristate area with it in stock so I feel very very fortunate to have got my hands on it! Sephora is my happy place! I go in looking haggard and somehow leave feeling like I just walked off a runway. The free samples are such a perk -- you get to try high-end products without committing, and it's always fun discovering something new. I love "test-driving" the luxury items: washing my hands with the most expensive soap I can find, running some leave-in conditioner through my hair, and finishing with a spritz of dry shampoo. My little cousin is in town, so I got guilted into taking her to Sephora... and by guilted I mean she asked me to take her and I said yes ahahahaha I'm the easiest get with her. Upon entry, I was hit with what I thought was chemical warfare. Thousands of scents amalgamated together to form one of the strongest smells that have ever hit my nostrils. I squinted and almost fell to my knees, but I couldn't show weakness with my little cousin present. We wandered about the maze that is Sephora, and I had NO idea how deep this make up thing ran. I mean I knew, but I really didn't KNOW as I don't have a sister. I am a pretty curious person, so ended up asking my cousins thousands of questions to the point where I don't even remember anything due to pure information overload. My brain just switched off and blacked out essentially. The brain is a funny thing, a real interesting organ. I had a wonderful experience at this Sephora location. I've never really worn makeup but on special occasions I do like to put a little on. I went looking for an everyday lipstick and was totally overwhelmed. I swatched a million on my hand but wasn't really sure what I was looking for or looking at. Also as my hair continues to grey my eyebrows do too. I asked a wonderful sales person for a little help. Not only did they point in the right direction they also showed me how to apply as well as the benefits of the particular eyebrow pencil. They also helped me find the right color. Sephora open calendar and provides appointments for a set timeframe in advance. So, I checked daily to ensure a specific date/time. Scheduled my annual make-up appointment a month in advance, only to get a call from Emily 11 days before to say they are changing my appointment because the system placed me with person no longer there. Remember appts go fast so any other location is out the window. Options given were for one time slot (hour after my original) OR call another (inconvenient) location. I opted for both Just-in-case. Was told would follow up in 2-3 days. Never got that call. So, I called and spoke with ? I could not identify that continued to call me honey (rude). That person spoke over me as I tried to explain while asking for manager Emily. They said she's out to lunch and would call me back. Yet AGAIN, never got that call. Ultimately, just cancelled because the customer service was horrible and the follow through ridiculous. Everyone says customer service is over. Yeah, but human decency should not be. I'm probably old enough to be that's persons mom, at best, wonderful aunt ... smiles. People in service, respect others and use last names, until you are given PERMISSION, to call or refer to people by their first or even honey. It can be endearing or demeaning. I'm addicted to Sephora, practically visiting one of its shops twice a week. It's my guilty pleasure. The staff is always friendly and never pushy. Yesterday, I went to the Manhattan Village location for a Dior cushion foundation. All the other locations were out of stock. And I'm so glad I went to this location, meeting one of the loveliest Sephora reps I have ever encountered. Shamira was helpful, ensuring that I was happy with the color. Cushion foundations can be tricky. She didn't hesitate to answer my prying questions; I wanted to know the products she used. Her skin and makeup were flawless. It's the holiday season, and most reps are in a rush to get you in and out. Not Shamira. She was patient and made me feel like a valued customer. Honestly, this Sephora is the worst location I've visited. I've been to this Sephora twice and have had a similar experience both times. I was in there for approximately 15 minutes and was approached by at least 5 people and oddly a guy with no Sephora identifier asking me if he could assist me in finding what I needed. I politely said no due to wanting to take my time looking at products. He stayed within arm distance of me looking back at me from time to time which was weird. Im assuming he thought my daughter and I were stealing. Very similar to my previous visit at this location. I did ask a question to another employee who was extremely rude. Her colleague standing next to her started laughing at her as she was clearly annoyed by my one question. All of my experiences here were terrible and made me feel uncomfortable. Please do not shop here if you are a person of color. Last year my mom and sisters came and they had a secret shopper in there and the man even followed us to the perfume section. Literally so close to us we could feel his breath. This weekend i went with my daughter and no one helped me while i shopped but i noticed afterwards the cashier left after i checked out and walked in front of me while i was leaving and her coworker behind me as if i was going to put things in my stroller. I stopped, they slowed down and when I turned a corner to be sure the lady behind me stopped and kept walking until i left the store. It was so embarrassing. No one helped me or asked if i needed anything but there were at least four workers in the front talking while leaving one cashier in the front to fend for herself. I'll always shop elsewhere, it's sad that you can't even shop with your baby without being profiled. read more

I encountered a rude, unhappy worker at the front who was abrupt and straight out unprofessional! This woman Shouldn't be at the forefront of the store... Greeter should be friendly and helpful. Came to Sephora to get a color match on the Rare Beauty foundation. I ordered a shade online and wanted to make sure it was the correct shade before I use it. I was assisted by Vicky and she was so personable and sweet. She helped me pick out my foundation. Turns out I picked the correct shade after all. I was commenting on how most of Rare Beauty products were out of stock and that it's such a popular product. I asked her if they had more of the silky touch highlighter in stock because I wanted the Exhilarate shade. She asked me how badly I wanted it and told me that she has one on hold for herself to purchase but she'll let me have it. Vicky is such a gem and went above and beyond and made my day! She was super pleasant, helpful, & responsive. I used the gift card for Sephora eye cream. This is an essential item in my world! She was super helpful & gave me some samples of various other items. Then another woman brought a makeup artist to the station where I was standing and I called out to her for help. She ignored me and walked away. A new person walked up to where I was standing when a makeup artist came up to her and asked how she could help her. I had a $75 gift card and had a new makeup budget of $300. In late September, I bought a $150 Sephora gift card in-store for my niece's birthday. When she tried to use it just days later, the balance showed as $0. I reached out to the store and then to Sephora's corporate office, and they told me to dispute the charge with my credit card. But now, Sephora is fighting the chargeback. This just feels wrong. If you're buying a physical gift card from a Sephora store, the security of that card should be the store's responsibility. Shifting that burden to the customer is unfair and frustrating. Now I'm out $150 with Sephora refusing to take accountability. read more

I went to this store yesterday around 5:30 with my friend and we were looking at some products for her but we needed someone to shade match her, we couldn't find someone to help us besides the girls that work for a specific brand and they called another person of the staff to do it, it took about 20 minutes for someone to finally give us the help we needed and she had such an attitude, I understand that some people have a rough day sometimes so I didn't take it personal and neither did my friend, we kept looking and I wanted a lip liner and I asked someone else from the staff, and said that they were supposed to be two, checked and there wasn't any, when I asked if there was something similar she simply said no again with an attitude. When I went to pay I decided to place the order online since there wasn't any in stock my friend and I were gave such a negative energy and in the process she realized she made a mistake and now decided to be a little nicer. I don't really take my time to write something negative like this but I believe this has to be addressed, I felt like a clown with everyone in this store treating my friend and i like if we weren't paying customers read more

A disappointment. It was a very discouraging experience to receive impoliteness from one staff of my favorite store. I usually order stuff online but today(2/16/22) I decided to go since a day off can be fulfilling by browsing new stuff. This store isn't busy at all. This mall is new and probably saw very few people from the parking to the stores. I had one goal,to buy my shampoo and conditioner but I browsed and wanted to try some moisturizers and hair products that I see in my email. From walking in,no greeting from any personnel,totally different from other Sephora. I grabbed my shampoo and conditioner and browsed other products. Two staff were chatting at the cashier area so I called the attention of one young lady. When she handed me the first sample,she said ,"Is there anything else so I don't have to keep coming back?" Yesterday 1/31/25 my sister and I went to Sephora to do some shopping. I've never had a bad experience at any Sephora until yesterday. My sister and I needed a sample and an employee assisted us. As we were waiting we got strange looks and staring us down from other female employees. I was patiently waiting to receive the sample from an employee that was assisting me that's all.
