Dr. Irvine is not only a genius at her craft, but also an exceptionally kind physician/surgeon with an outstanding bedside manner. We had a particularly unique and difficult situation when our 35-year-old son with special needs had a traumatic fall and broke his nose in two places in October 2024. His nose was visibly smashed and his breathing was badly impacted. He ultimately needed a rhinoplasty and septoplasty. After an initial consultation with another ENT left him frightened and unwilling to consider surgery, we spent nearly a year searching for a surgeon with both exceptional skill and genuine compassion. Dr. Leslie Irvine lived up to our expectations in every way! Dr. Irvine put our son so much at ease that he requested the surgery himself. He went into the hospital in an amazingly optimistic frame of mind, even during pre-op. His recovery was easier than expected, though understandably uncomfortable until the stents were removed a week later. His surgery was in October 2025, but I waited four months to write this review so we could see the results after most of the swelling resolved. We are amazed with the results! His nose looks fantastic, his breathing is greatly improved and this procedure has helped him regain his confidence. We were so impressed with Dr. Irvine's skill that six weeks ago I underwent an in-office procedure with her called VivAer to improve my own breathing. It took only about 20 minutes, strengthened my nasal walls, reduced my turbinates, and required no downtime at all. My breathing is dramatically better, I'm sleeping more soundly and exercising feels easier. We feel extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Irvine and could not recommend her more highly. She was very nice, understanding and very helpful in everything she checked my eye and nose out. On my 2nd visit she referred me to an Eye Specialist and then she took care of my fractured nose by realigning it back to as close as she could. A great surgeon with a great support staff. I'm a 36 year old male and I've had nasal breathing issues for as long as I can remember (at least 10 years) and those issues continued to get progressively worse over the last 2-3 years to the point where I knew that I needed to do something. I told myself that 2025 would be the year I got them resolved. I interviewed 4 surgeons in late 2024- mostly in Beverly Hills (household names) and Dr. Irvine in Manhattan Beach. It's not an easy decision for patients to make in terms of who they should go with and you ultimately have to trust your gut. I chose Dr. Irvine because she is dual certified (plastic + ENT) - and the correction of my breathing issues was my primary objective. She had a specific case that resembled my own in her before / after(s) gallery, which I found reassuring. She is very straight forward, easy going, no nonsense and very up front in terms of what to expect (duration of surgery, pain expectations, down-time et cetera). Dr. Irvine creates a digital rendering of what she thinks your nose will ultimately look like post operation (these things are never exact) but a good baseline. Her team was the icing on the cake. Leina is extremely professional, thorough and quick to respond. Given the numerous structural issues with my nose - Leina was very quick to engage with my insurance company and gave me a clear and concise breakdown of costs that were covered (functional) and costs that I would be responsible for separately (cosmetic) - split between surgeon fees, anesthesia fees and facility fees. Everything was extremely transparent and I received this all in writing within a few hours of having my initial consult with Dr. Irvine. Other surgeons took days - and were not willing to do that legwork. Dr. Irvine does her surgeries at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance. Her pre-operation and post-operation instructions are extremely detailed (a good thing) and the document reads like someone who actually cares wrote it (not attorney like at all). It even has a description of the operating suite so that people can get mentally prepared prior to the procedure. It is all extremely transparent and well written. My surgery day went very smoothly as follows: 1) Woke up at 4:30 AM - showered - and cleaned the surgical site with special soap that Dr. Irvine Recommended. 2) Arrived at the hospital around 5:45 AM for initial check in / processing. By 6:30 AM I was in a hospital bed with IV ready to go. The nurses at the hospital ask you several questions - all standard procedure to ensure you have a safe operation- and everyone makes you as comfortable as they can. 3) Dr. Irvine came in to check on me one more time prior to the procedure - to ensure that any last minute questions were answered. I had none - I conducted my research, I asked my questions and was ready to go. I went in around 8 AM. 4) Given the various issues with my nose - I had a rhino-septoplasty that involved a) fixing deviated septum b) widening nasal passages (that were collapsing) c) reducing turbinates d) lifting the tip and simultaneously straightening out the nose. The surgery was around 4 - 4.5 hours. 4) I woke up at 1:30 PM or so and a bit groggy from anesthesia (all normal). The nurses at Little Company were great - gave me hydration, a pain killer and some anti-nausea medicine - and within 10-15 minutes I was ready to go home. My wife drove me home (it is an out patient procedure but you need someone to drive you). Once I got home I was really just tired more than anything else. The pain wasn't bad- just felt like a sinus infection (stuffed nose) and you could feel that you were swollen. Pain was mild in my opinion - I didn't take anything stronger than Tylenol / Advil and I only took that for a few days (no opioids for me). Doing this procedure has been life changing for me. This review is a few years late, but I just came across Dr. Irvine's page on Yelp, and I couldn't pass it up without writing a review. Back in 2021, out of nowhere, I noticed a small bump on my forehead, right below the hairline. It looked like a cyst of some sort, and it was noticeable enough to bother me. I contacted Dr. Irvine and scheduled a consultation. Right away, I knew she was the surgeon for me. Her bedside manner and incredible knowledge made me feel comfortable from the start, and I scheduled surgery right away. I've struggled with breathing through my nose as far back as I can remember. It's only gotten worse with age. My ENT considered the non-invasive procedure but believed based on the severity of my deviation it would return to its original form within two years. He recommended Dr. Irvine and my experience with her was excellent! She is very informative, kind, patient and reassuring. More importantly, she is talented and did a great job on my open septoplasty. Going under for four hours is a nerve wracking concept, but she and her team knew exactly what they were doing. It also helped that my fiancé is a nurse and we followed the very detailed pre-op and post-op instructions to the letter. It's been 3 weeks since my operation and the healing is going great. I still have plenty of swelling in the tip of my nose as well as some internal inflammation in the structure. The incision line is healing well. Best of all, I can breathe out of both of my nostrils for the first time ever! I would highly recommend Dr. Leslie Irvine if you are considering a functional (or aesthetic) nose surgery. So I finally had my Septo/rhinoplasty done with Dr. Irvine. I'm not going to lie the 7 days post op was rough, but in that moment that she took the cast and tape off, I felt like I was dreaming!!! I cannot believe with this being a revision from almost 10 years ago, and dealing with a disease just last year that could hinder healing as well as the fact that I am not a spring chicken at 44, she was able to work the magic she did. I am speechless, and have no words that only 10 days postop, everything looks this good. I have never met a doctor in all of my 24 years of being a nurse and a lifetime of being a patient like Dr. Irvine. Dr. Irvine has been one of the best doctors I've ever seen. I went to Dr. Irvine as she was in network for an ear, nose and throat specialist with my insurance, located near my office and was able to see me with minimal wait. I went to her regarding a lump in my throat that appeared very suddenly. After an initial consultation she referred me to get an MRI done which diagnosed me as having a thryoglossal duct cyst. The insurance company originally didn't approve the MRI and Dr. Irvine successfully argued with them that it was medically necessary so the MRI was able to get paid by insurance. Once diagnosed we discussed options and ultimately scheduled surgery for removal of my cyst. I had my surgery this past Friday. The procedure went well and I'm on my way to recovery. What most impresses me about Dr. Irvine is how accessible and responsive she has been. She gave me her direct contact information and answered emails quickly, often within 30 minutes. Throughout the early diagnosis and decision making process about the best path forward we exchanged at least a dozen emails. Before my surgery, that she performed, she gave my wife her cell phone number and told us not to hesitate to call or text with any urgent issues. Dr. Irvine has excellent bedside manner and is someone you can tell truly cares about the outcome of her patients. She has been great at walking me through all my options and explaining both the best and worst case scenarios. In each of my visits to her office I've never had to wait for more than 5 minutes to see her. While I've been a long time Yelp user this is the first time I've had a positive enough experience with any type of service provider that I felt compelled to draft a positive review. Dr Leslie Irvine is the best facial plastic surgeon around! I wish I could give her more than 5 stars. I came to her over the summer complaining about my inability to breathe (due to deviated septums) and disliking the way the exterior of my nose looked. Prior to surgery, we went through meticulous planning of what I wanted done and she was very supportive and present throughout the process. My recovery process was extremely easy and I did not bruise at all. Dr. Leslie was present to answer any of my questions or concerns and support me through the process of recovery. Here is my story: I had a very bad deviated septum and was just going to get that fixed by my ENT (Dr. Rebecca Golgert). But all my life there had been a couple cosmetic things about my nose that I wasn't happy with, so I asked my ENT what I should do and she told me that it would be smart to get the cosmetic things done (cosmetic rhinoplasty) at the same time as the deviated septum (septoplasty), and so she referred me to Dr. Irvine and boy am I fortunate to have been put in contact with her. I didn't know what it would be like to talk to a plastic surgeon, but I could not have felt more comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. From Dr. Irvine to Jill (functional coordinator) to Brianna (cosmetic coordinator) to the rest of the office staff, everyone was super friendly, supportive and helpful with the process which made my decision to go forward with the cosmetic portion of the surgery a lot easier.
