This store is known for its quality cosmetics and skin care products. They are not cheap but they are very good. I have tried a few of their products in the past and i have been very happy with them. I know many people that swear by them. The staff working here was very professional, hard working and friendly. It doesn't surprise me at all that there would be a Kiehl's in Ptown, nor that it was a well stocked and organized store. The one person manning the store that afternoon (probably the owner) managed to juggle helping customers in the store and over the phone without missing a beat. I think one item of interest to me was currently out of stock as well as a few new items. There also seemed to be a smaller inventory of complimentary samples (but enough of interest to me). There was a Mother's Day promotion going on as well. It was nice to have this as a shopping option while visiting the area. read more

This is a great little store. I stumbled upon it while window shopping in PTown. I have a few girl friends who constantly obsess about fine facial lines that look like wrinkles etc. I cannot understand the reasoning. I don't see what's wrong with those lines when they are supposed to happen with age. Anyways. So I thought I should check out if I can pick up a gift or two for some of them. The store is quite spacious as all products are very neatly stacked on 3 of the walls of the polygonal shaped store. It made the store look much bigger than it really is. The girl who was working there - Kiah - is very very friendly and gave genuine advice and suggestions about products that fit the description of my queries. She even packed 4 sachets of samples and was almost about to put a sample of one of the products in an empty bottle because she was out of trial sachets for it, to which I had to say no. I was confident that the product she was giving me that special sample of was the one that one of my girl friends really could use. So I went ahead and bought that and was glad the samples would be an add on for my friend to try for herself. If you are looking for some real no frills advice about anything related to facial skin care, do go to this store and talk to this very efficient and knowledgeable staff / sales person. I went in with two friends yesterday afternoon. They knew what they wanted and selected it, and one of them waited at the counter to pay. I saw a recycling station and went over to discard my plastic cup. Immediately after I did so, a saleswoman appeared in front of me and snipped, "This is only for OUR products." I was puzzled by what she said, and by her profound level of annoyance, and asked, "This isn't for recycling?" (as there were recycling symbols all over it). The extreme level of aggravation of this woman cannot be understated. She exuded impolite annoyance. "NO," she said, "it is NOT for general recycling. It is only for KIEHL'S PRODUCTS." She then yanked open the top of the recycling unit, grabbed my cup and huffed off. My friend and I were flabbergasted by her attitude. I then walked over to stand next to my other friend, who was paying for his purchase. The saleswoman reappeared behind the counter and icily asked me, "How can I help YOU?" She then noted my proximity to my friend and said, "Oh, you're with HIM," and rolled her eyes. This sounds like a small, incidental interaction, but it was so over-the-top that another customer in the store noticed it and raised his eyebrows. It's a quiet little store and her huffiness was impossible to miss. I'm a longtime Kiehl's customer and have never been treated rudely in any of their stores, including crowded locations in Manhattan during holiday rushes. There is no call, EVER, to treat customers like this. I see from Yelp that this is not the first complaint about this woman; why would Kiehl's continue to employ someone who is so obviously reluctant to perform her chief job responsibility? Again, this seems like a small incident, but it stayed with my friends and I for the rest of the day because it was so disproportionately unpleasant. None of us will ever return to this Kiehl's location. read more

Very friendly and personable staff who were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their products. The guy (whose name escapes me at the moment) who's been behind the counter every time I've visited is a doll. He's always very helpful and offers up suggestions, and he's super friendly. They're really generous with their samples here, so I never hesitate to ask for something specific to give it a shot - I think they know their price point is high, but the products are so great you'll be back for more. I love Kiehl's products. I was happy to learn they had a location relatively close to home as I typically had to purchase the products from Sephora online. The first time I visited this location was back in March or April. There was one woman working in the store and we were the only customers inside. The saleswoman seemed annoyed that we were there. She did not greet us and she was extremely unfriendly. I could tell she did not want to help us. She eventually asked if we were looking for anything. I felt extremely uncomfortable so we walked around for a minute or so and left. I decided to try again the end of last month (July) because I really needed more of my favorite conditioner and I knew we'd be in Ptown. Same woman was there along with one other saleswoman. The store was pretty busy. We once again were not greeted when we entered. Understandable. They were busy. I knew exactly what I wanted, so I grabbed my conditioner and waited at the register. I waited for a few minutes before anyone came over. The same woman from before saw me at one point and actually rolled her eyes at me. I purchased the conditioner because I needed it, but needless to say, NEVER AGAIN. I'm back to buying my Kiehl's products from Sephora. I'd rather pay for shipping than be made to feel uncomfortable for no apparent reason. read more
