The village is set up fleamarket like. I don't like the hovering as I'm looking at items. I did snag some cute hoodies and trinkets to bring back home. Some stands are really pushy with their sales. I get it, but, it's a huge turn off for me. read more

A shopping mall vaguely reminiscent of street markets in Taiwan or Korea. It's mainly tourist souvenirs with the classics like postcards, hats, shirts, magnets, etc. There's a bunch of shops, but over half of them have inventory overlap so it's a good idea to look around and find the best price for the item you want to purchase. You can get postcards for $1, magnets between $3-$9, and souvenir fashion jewelry around $10-$12. There are a few unique shops like a cutting board stall and a ukelele shop plus some stalls selling more valuable jewelery up in the hundreds of dollars. read more

wouldn't visit again, basically just overpriced tourist goods with asian ladies looming over you as you shop. i would say it's much more worthwhile to go to whalers village or a better value souvenir shop. unless you want bracelets & t-shirts from amazon, i would say avoid this place. the only upside was the nice shade & parking. read more

A bit more than an ordinary street shopping experience. This shopping market is the perfect spot to pick up casual finds or something to bring home for loved ones. Parking was easy to come by and the village has nearby restaurants and other fun local things. The shops are arranged in a bazaar style with long rows of shops, which allows you to feel like you can get lost in the excitement despite it being relatively small. The vendors there range from selling sunglasses to candles to shirts to, well, everything really. There's no shortage of gifts or Hawaii-centric things you can find there. We bit on a deal the sunglass vendor had going on there and others in our party loaded up on gifts. A solid market altogether. read more

Came to Paia fish market to get some food and discovered this little shopping center, There are a wide variety of vendors ranging from swap meet style vendors to more established stores. It's a great place to find gifts for people back home. Though I do have to say I found it generally more pricy than other similar farmers market/swap meet shopping areas. My wife and daughter love to shop at these local businesses. Quality/Quantity - Tourist location, but that's okay as my wife and daughter like to shop local for hand crafted gifts, art, souvenirs, etc. Live entertainment some nights. Atmosphere - Open air kiosk marketplace pavilion shopping, less and less every visit... Couple of restaurants (14ish). Business opens at "Hawaiian" hours; it reads 10am but in reality it is 10am-ish depending on how good the surf is. Public bathrooms, not very clean. Parking around the mall, drive safe. Service - Depends on business, but overall good as they cater to tourists. Price - Depends on business, but overall good as they cater to tourists and it is fairly competitive pricing out here. IMHO I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before, because we always stop by and visit at least twice during a visit to Maui. Is it divey? A little, but it's always fun to meander through the many vendor booths chock full of any type of souvenir you desire! We brought new friends here who were searching for jewelry gifts. They found the perfect vendor with a large variety of Hawaiian jewelry to choose from and left with 3 lovely pieces. My daughter found a Hawaiian dress to wear to a corporate dinner party. I buy my favorite coffee granita from Lava Java located just outside the village, to your left! We also regularly dine casually here at the South Shore Tiki Lounge. We've never had a bad meal here! Everything is super yummy and the customer service is epic! Do yourself a favor and visit this cute shopping market. I'm sure you'll find something to bring home with you! read more

Kihei Kalama Village was an outdoor marketplace convenient to the beaches and other amenities of downtown Kihei. The shops occupy stalls within the cavernous market which offers everything from kitschy souveniers, t-shirts, jewelry, knick-nacks and various activities and tours for Maui tourists. It is fun to wander around. Touristy level quality and prices so beware. The shop keepers are helpful and friendly without being overbearing. There are several restaurants and bars in the area as well as a food truck lot at the Kihei Food Oasis @ South Maui Gardens which is convenient for a fun day out in Kihei. read more

0 's On 3/20/2025 I had a very bad fall inside this shopping marketplace. I landed on my knees then hip and elbow and had a hard time getting up. I screamed when I fell. Nobody came to help. There were many people there and they definitely heard me. As I was trying to get up I saw a man peek around the corner but that was all. Then he disappeared. Why would all those people leave someone lying on the floor and not help? After I was able to get up I walked outside and sat on the bench for a while. Still No one came to see if I was OK. I entered this Marketplace with all the little booths and shops by the parking lot. The shop I fell in was the last shop on the left. The bench I sat on was the bench facing that little shop. Excellent lunch at Three's Bar and Grill where we had a delicious Kalua Pork Quesadilla with peanut topped slaw and very tasty chicken wings. The salad menu made it hard to chose from and there was a wide variety of mocktails for me and beer and drinks for everyone else. Happy hour starts at 3pm. The shops surrounding the parking lot had other restaurants and places to eat along with a large variety of clothes and gift items at small local shops,m. We came to this side of the town and found this market by accident. Since we had nothing to do that day, we decided to check it out. It's a decent size market, selling a lot of souvenirs along with some wood cravings. There are a few restaurants right next to it, and they seem to be quite popular. We dropped by the little shop called Tutu's pantry. The shop keeper kept feeding us free samples and everything was surprisingly good AND made in Maui. As a result, we got a bunch of stuff. I got some sweet coconut chips, pineapple gummies and coconut cane sugar candies. My bf went to town and bought some expensive Hana chocolates bars, macadamia brittle and passion fruit & pineapple butter. Later we saw the same items for sale in the airport for a lot more $. So I'd say it's a good spot to get some local yummies. read more

It seems like it's trying to be like a street market in Shanghai. It succeeds, but only in the bad way. At least in Shanghai you get decent quality stuff. This place felt like a labyrinth with booths of cheap sarongs and Hawaiian souvenirs, most likely made offshore. Upside? If you're traveling with tweens, give 'em each 40 bucks and tell them they have an hour. That gives you an hour to relax. read more

It might be unfair to review a shopping area such as Kihei Kalama Village during a pandemic as only a fraction of the individual shop stalls were open during my recent visit. However, I did manage to visit every single one, and almost pulled the trigger on a couple things. And at that point, I could hear Gayle (who wasn't with me) whispering in my ear that we already had too much stuff. Most of it appears to be locally sourced and I hope to be back for the full experience in post-COVID times. read more

The village houses some of my favorite eaterys on the island plus numerous trinket shops featuring all your Hawaiian needs. Ive started my mornings at The Kihei Cafe for some start me up grindz. Lunch and dinner I've dined & liquored myself up at the Tiki Bar or the BBQ joint called Fat Daddy's isn't so bad either. Shopping for trinkets is not my thing but hey if you need it someone has it for sale. And yes the adult entertainment store is in this place for your nocturnal activities. And if u need a Tiki mugs or photo frames, they have it all for Tiki lovers. Parking is free so use the lot and watch out for the chickens that run around. Folks I recommend stopping by for what ever you need, or just to grab a walk and kill some time. read more

It may be better to close up till they feel comfortable having 'vacationers' come shop (and no, this isn't about masks, social distancing or sanitizing- We think that's all fine of course). This was a pretty neat place to look for souvenirs, though in all honesty we didn't get anything. It's right next to a bunch of popular restaurants in the area, so it's just a nice place to peruse before or after eating! It's an outdoor covered marketplace- reminds me markets I've been to in South America. The variety was pretty nice with places selling clothes, kids clothing, toys, soaps, jewelry, decorations, packaged snacks, etc. I wouldn't say things were necessarily cheap, but they seemed reasonably priced. read more

This outdoor market area is the funniest part of Kihei! During the day the market is bustling with store fronts and vendors selling Hawaiian goods and souvenirs. Plus all the restaurants, fudge shop, and boutiques are open. I was able to buy inexpensive souvenirs for friends and family while at the same time shop jewelry and art for myself. At night the bars and restaurants are hopping! Super fun place to visit and shop! read more

This review is mixed. Most of the vendors are kind and wonderful, one in particular was horrid, rude, and caustic. I would rate most of the vendors a 4.5. One vendor, large apparel section close to Kihei Rd left and center aisle, was rude, mean, caustic and accusatory. I have a large bag so I can shove all the goodies I buy into it. I am NOT stealing! This woman accused me of stealing and yelled at me. Said I'm looking too much and carrying a large purse so I'm stealing and I should go to Macy's to steal because they have cameras. I told her I'm NOT stealing and don't worry, I'll NEVER buy anything from her. She said she's too busy. She wasn't and because of her behavior, everyone who was looking all walked away. read more

A lot of shops with plethora of souvenirs and t-shirts. I like the shirts and they usually have good deals. I saw a few last time for like $5 shirt and hats. It might have been because they were competitive with Amazon deal that week. They also have shaved ice and you'll see most stores have a sign that doesn't want you eat in there store. I saw a slippa store looks like you can make your own. They have a kiosk like that SD; which is so much fun to make you own. This is also where we discovered Tiki lounge. Best margaritas I've found and they usually have artists playing guitar or some type music. Happy hours great and there HH foods decent too. read more

So....I bought a few things while I was at the market! Reef was such a cute helper letting me sample the salts and sauces. All the wonderful spices helped me create a true island experience for my retreat group! I am very pleased with the quality of products and the taste is phenomenal! If you're looking for Makena Beach shirts, visit the T-shirt shack near the Tiki Shack. It's hard to fond Makena Beach merchandise. The sign lady also has Makena Beach signs. Really good, locally sourced gifts. Only a few shops were open but the shop owners were so nice. All had gloves and masks and every item I bought came in a nice gift bag. One vendor was inexpensive and the other was pricey, but both were appropriate for what each was selling. Sea glass jewelry on sterling silver or 14k gold with tons of options and unique designs. The other had tons of souvenir type items but better prices and some great unique boho items. I appreciate the hand made items and wish I had bought more. read more
