My cruise from San Francisco to Hawaii stopped at the cruise terminal in Kahului. There is a walk path from the dock to the street lights of Maui Mall Village. It is walkable and about 15 minutes. A cab was $20 for two and an uber for 6 would have been $21 with a tip. The ladies in my party went to Longs to find deals on cookies, candies and nuts. It was a bit crowded in the store but other customers were friendly. There was also a TJ Maxx. It was pretty clean. There were a few eateries, a movie theater, and a few other miscellaneous shops in this mall. Close by was a Ross and a Walmart. I heard a lot of the crew went to Walmart. It was nice to take a trip off the ship and walk thru this mall. read more

Opening in 1971 as a key retail hub in central Maui, the Maui Mall had a major makeover in 2019 to become a more open-air mall. It is anchored by a Whole Foods, TJ Maxx, Longs Drugs, and a 12 screen cinema complex. It also has an Avis-Budget office, which didn't initially appear on my list of possible rental car agencies. It could be an option for car rental, if coming from a cruise ship. There are shaded places to sit in the main courtyard, so we ended up staying there a bit before moving on. I like this outdoor mall. It's a bit on the older side, but they have stores that you can actually afford to buy stuff in. And a few places to eat. And there's big box stores on the outskirts of the parking lot. There's plenty of parking here. And there's even a movie theater. read more

This mall has changed so much during covid. Lots of empty shops but ones still there are doing well thankfully-I Hop/Longs/Whole foods are main ones. They have added beautiful landscaping hopefully Theater will open again soon. read more

It's time for an update as there are big changes coming to this mall that's been alive since the 1970's and even sported a Woolworth's at one time. Unfortunately it hasn't received it's energy booster shot, until now. There's a new owner, and things are looking positive. While the layout hasn't changed at all, 2 new buildings are coming up on the mall's west side. One will house Maui's first TJ Maxx, and the other about five new stores, including a "burger restaurant," according to a recent article in the paper. There are more restaurants than retail shops, a plus in my book. Parking is plentiful, and roadway access is the easiest of any mall I've been to. This is a small local shopping mall located near the pier in Kahului Maui. Whole Foods and the Maui movie complex are the mall anchors. While this is a small mall, many locals visit on Sundays and hang out near the movie theater or watch local performances. read more

It's old fashioned but it still delivers. There's some basic good shops, restaurants, movie theatres, easy parking. Nothing really stellar. Longs Drugs (CVS) and Whole Foods are the anchor tenants. The water feature in front of the movies is fun for kids in the hot weather. Being a small shopping center is a good thing so you don't have to walk for miles. I have been to Maui mall for a good seven years now, every time I come to Maui. This is nothing like Queen K shopping center but it is a community shopping center and hang out spot for everyone. Some say this mall has seen better days and is kind of rundown but I think it has potential. For the most part, The mall is self is clean and very user-friendly to most people who come here. I first discovered the Maui mall when I had a craving for ice cream and discovered the Longs drugstore when I was driving along Kaahumanu Avenue in Kahului. Need this to say, it was time to explore this new mall - this was back in 2008. I enjoyed the Maui mall because it is easy to navigate and has a lot of stores and restaurants for the budget conscious person - whether you are a visitor or a local. There is a Baskin-Robbins and a subway, as well as a Thai restaurant which is pretty good. They also have whole foods here, TJ Maxx, and a multi screen theater. The Maui mall is located at 275 W. Kaahumanu Ave. in Kahului, literally down the street from the Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center - well, about 1/2 mile apart. The parking is very ample because of the sheer parking spaces dedicated to everyone who works and shops here at the mall. A lot of the merchants here at the mall the mall except major credit cards, so that's always a good thing. When I need to go to the Maui mall, I normally headed to the subway restaurant or by stop at Longs drugs store. However on this recent trip to Maui on January 18, 2016, I ended up craving Thai food for a late lunch and went to the Thailand Cuisine Thai restaurant instead of getting Subway footlong and could have saved a bunch of $$$ before flying back home to Oahu. But supporting local businesses is a great thing and happy to do so. For me, the Maui mall is a perfect place to hang out because it has theater and a small miniature water park in the center of the mall. It is pretty cool to see small kids have fun with the waterpark and it makes me jealous that I am not. Another reason why to visit this shopping center is that it is about five minutes away from the airport. You can have a quick lunch and do some last-minute shopping before returning home and that's beautiful. Nearby the Maui mall is farmers market where are you can do your shopping at there as well. The County of Maui also have their offices here at the Maui mall so that's pretty cool for accessibility to government services daily. The overall experience here can be categorized as an average experience, but best believe you can find your hidden gems within this mall. 4.0 stars because the movie theaters are here and good shopping. Unfortunately I'm going to have to disagree with the previous blogger. I personally think there needs to be a better variety of stores. I think the main reason I would come to this mall would be to go to The Pet Shop, Tasaka Guri Guri or Longs. Otherwise I don't understand how some of those tiny locally owned stores stay in business. I always just end up walking from one end to the other (without stopping) to just go to the restroom and head back to one of my three stores. Bathrooms are gross - no locks on any of the men's stalls - been like that for months

Maui Mall has so much to offer despite the vacancies: the Regal Maui Mall Megaplex 12 theater, Tasaka Guri Guri, Baskin-Robbins, Whole Foods market, Longs Drugs, Ale House, Wendy's, Thailand Cuisine, Pizza Hut, IHOP, Genki Sushi, Fun Factory, TJ Maxx, etc. Maui Mall has gone through a lot of changes in shops and restaurants, but at the end of the day, it is still one of my regularly frequented spots. The businesses in the mall are good and the parking lot is always open, convenient, and easy to get in and out of. Sure, Maui Mall lost big stores like the Pet Shop and big restaurants like Dragon Dragon, but they make up for it with the other great businesses that are still in the complex. And I'm sure they will find a way to fill up the mall with more good shops and restaurants at some point in the near future. read more

I was really hoping once the mall's​ renovations were complete more retail shops would move in. It's not their​ fault, it's a nationwide trend as more consumers shop online. Maui Mall is doing what it can to keep it a vibrant place to visit. They need more retail and a quality local style sit down restaurant​. I come here regularly​ to shop the outer rim of shops; ​Longs, Wholefoods​, TJ Maxx and Tasaka Guri Guri.​ The only inner place I visit regularly is the movie theater. The new fun seating areas, live music​ and pop up craft tents certainly​ help keep shoppers in the area. The large amount of cruise ship visitors need better signage​ to direct them to and from shops, especially TJMaxx, something I'm always doing. Take a drive to that side of the Mall and look for the wandering tourists. I wonder why there aren't any directories or signs to inform​ and guide visitors to all business in the mall? (especially non-english​ speakers) I hope Maui Mall can attract and keep more retail tenants with the new improvements. read more

Small strip type mall in Kahului. This place has been here for years and has gone through some changes. The anchors here are Longs Drugs (a.k.a. CVS Pharmacy), Whole Foods and Regal Theatres. Guri Guri is also in this place, along with IHOP and other eating places. For me, not a great place to hang out, rather just to go and get your business done. On weekends, it seems there is an adopt a dog program near Whole Foods. DMV also in the back portion of this place. Pretty convenient if you want to eat, shop and register your car in one day! read more

Think of your normal mall with all your fancy amenities like real shops, fancy air conditioning, and a nice food court ....then get rid of all the amenities...this is Maui Mall. They should really call it Maui hallway, or Maui Fake mall. Because really what this, "Mall" had was a whole foods, and Tasaka Guri Guri, everything else was literally crap. This is a cute little mall - we came here twice during our stay and it had everything we were looking for: Longs, Whole Foods, and Tasaka Guri Guri! It's basically a strip mall, without the strip - there's a movie theater and other little shops. When we came here on our last day (Dec 22nd) - there was a photographer who was using one of the vacant shop spaces (there are a lot of empty shop spaces) as a temporary photo studio with of course: Santa! So yeah, we had to take a picture with him! It's not Ala Moana or Pearlridge, not even Kahala Mall; but it's a convenient place to stop for supplies and maybe watch a movie. read more

Eh. There are so many better places in Maui for malls and shopping - like Kukui Shopping Center and Queen Kaahumanu Center Mall. This place seems to have no variety. I went to the arcade ... pretty lame and a rip-off arcade if you ask me. Basically, it was 20 bucks to get a rubber bouncy ball. The only thing I found worth while was the ice cream. The Megaplex movie theater SUCKS. I went in there and there was a trash can in the middle of the theater, and it stunk up the whole room. The theater is super dirty. Dead - Moribund - Sad Excuse for a Mall I had an hour to kill before I needed to check-in at the airport for my flight. I decided to kill time at this mall. What a mistake. There are few stores but most half the shops are shuttered. The anchor store is a Whole Foods. There is a movie theatre if you have the time. BTW., make sure you enter through the front of the mall. The back of the mall is an unemployment office and wayward youth hang-out area with some very unfriendly and unhappy people. Very understandable. read more

Three stars only going off of it's name. Not exactly a "mall", but there are a variety of shops (mostly mom and pop) and restaurants at this establishment. The Whole Foods, CVS, and movie theater seem to get the most action, but the local folks have their favorite stores here. Tasaka Guri Guri is world famous so no wonder it has constant business (it's tucked away in the back of the "mall") This place never really gets super crowded as I've been here on a regular weekend and even during Christmas. You won't ever feel like you're battling a crowd. Lots of parking in front and in back giving lots of access to the shops. Cute seating areas throughout the "mall" as well. No mall wifi. Cute water fountains in front of the theater that kids love to play in and public restrooms are nearby. read more

A small shopping mall on Maui with a very small diversify of stores. More of a marketplace with a cinema complex really. It had failed on so many levels after the economy crash on '11. Mostly a stopping place for the tourists off the ocean liners. if it wasn't for the anchor stores, Whole Foods and CVS, I would not even call it a shopping mall anymore. Considered a mall in Maui. To me its more of a Local 4 way walking road with some restaurants on the side and a theater in the middle. There isn't much special in this place to tourist from big cities like me. However, it does have some special shops and lots of free wifi in this area. It's mostly empty since the shopping center about half a mile down has much modern and big brand business than this place. A great outdoor style mall. Probably the most complete list of stores. I found this to be the most standard mall on the island. This is the place to go for department stores, smaller retail shops, etc. I also really enjoyed the food court here as well. Ya lame place. Many of the stores were closed down on the left side with a sign saying, stores being renovated come back in 2010 but in the mean time enjoy our food court.
