Cute little spot at the bottom of the street before going up Haleakala! We stopped on the way back down to get a drink. Got a bottle of pineapple mustard that intrigued the wife, and I got a Maui brew root beer which was delicious!

After driving upcountry we stopped in to do some gift shopping. We did find some nice Hawaiiana style gifts for Xmas and something for me. Very affordable and even has a little can food market. Xlnt selection of wines. Good to know for a pic nic in my future. Nice flower trees in the yard.

On a business trip, we stopped here for second dose of coffee on the way back down Haleakala. They had these cute wish bracelets we took home as a souvenir. I like to get something whenever I go on trips to remember all of the memories made. I love love Maui, so I cannot wait to come back. We went prior to the pandemic so even with other tourists around eating at the place next door, there was ample parking.

Kula Marketplace is one of the last markets on your way up to Haleakala National Park if you wish to watch the sunrise and/ or sunset on the top of the dormant volcano. My husband and I stopped by here on a Friday around 11 am. At Kula Marketplace, you can find grocery items, food and non food souvenirs, sweaters, trinkets, etc. If you did not pack any warm clothes on your trip to Maui and wish to visit Haleakala National Park, you may want to consider buying a sweater here (but Target and Walmart, by the OGG airport may be cheaper) because it can get very cold once at the national park due to the high elevation (as cold as 40*F, even if it is 85*F and above on the island). There are clean restrooms at this marketplace in case you need to use them and can pick up a cup of coffee in case you are getting sleepy or just want to warm up with a warm beverage. This is a nice stop to stretch your legs and browse the many random things at this place (and in case if you want to pick up some food) on your way up to Haleakala National Park, MauiWine winery, Ali'i Kula Lavender farm, etc. There is also a small clearancs section of random items on rbe 2nd floor in case you wish to browse.

I went to the Kula Market Place while I was waiting for a table at the Kula Lodge. Inside the store, there are a variety of things that you can pick up that are made in Hawaii. Items include Christmas ornaments, a children's section, clothes, coffee, snacks, greeting cards, and more! It's perfect for someone that has to get a gift from Hawaii. There is also a convenience store section towards the right of the store where you can get cold beverages, cheese, fruit, etc.

Did an upcountry day trip on our Honeymoon trip to Maui, we were very excited to come to this place and shop some of the "local" artistry and mercantile type things. Was disappointed, they way it was explained in many travel articles was that it was a large row of shops etc. In reality it is one large cabin with small alcoves featuring different goods that are native to Hawaii however most of the goods are similar to those seen in gift shops at hotels, fun to say we've been but not the "best" Authentic Maui shopping.

    Lots of jewelry for sale.

Great gift shop and coffee stop if you're doing the drive up or down to the crater. So many interesting things to choose from if you're looking for some souvenirs to take back to the mainland. Picnic supplies and snacks, local goodies, and local crafts for sale. Be prepared to spend a lot of time here because the selection is so great. All in all a really good gift shop upcountry.

Help was extremely rude. I would avoid this place unless you're a local. Didn't seem to have much use for tourists. : (

Really nice shop for gifts and mementos. Tasteful items. We drove here after the pineapple tour and on our way to the Kula Bistro.

(Whalers village should really reevaluate their parking policy and offer free parking). This place has a lot more stores too over 2 levels. We came here due to wanting to try out the restaurant Lineage (see review). We shopped at island gourmet markets (an abc with more food options), blue ginger, whalers general store (my favorite as I got some souvenirs from here). They also have an added bonus of a strong Hawaiian culture dance and crafts program associated with the shopping center. See photo. It's too bad I didn't realize they had all these cultural programs earlier as I wanted to join in some of them. (I had gone over to whalers village to join a cultural craft program and no one knew anything about it). Will definitely come back here when I visit again!

This has never happened before, or how I almost lost my wife…read more We drove up 1.3 miles from our condo at Maui Banyon on the southern edge of Kihei. Turned into the Kihei Town Center, anchored by the Foodland supermarket. The other supermarkets in Kihei are Times supermarket and Safeway, both a few miles farther north. Ate two lunches here at Kamana Kitchens, where you have to try their $10 eggplant , $12 Chicken Tikki Marsala, and $11 Curry Chicken weekday lunch specials. Came here a third time on Sunday at 5pm to get their before 6pm half price specials at Sansei Seafood and Sushi restaurant, but the line was 40 people deep, so we drove home. Drove here and parked in the shade next to the road, as it was 89 degrees in mid November -hotter than Lahaina, 22 miles up the coast. After eating lunch, we stopped by Rainbow Attic, a thrift shop next to Cuarto, a Latin Asian fusion restaurant -got to try their Popu Steak and spicy Tuna Nachos. Wife was browsing the jewelry. Sat on a bench next to the jewelry on the opposite side of where the wife was looking. Eventually moved to a corner of the store, as was blocking patrons view of the goods, and sat in a corner of the store. Must have dozed off, as my cell phone volume tone was turned off. Got up and started looking for the wife. Cell phone rings, and it is the wife, back at the condo! WTH are you Robert! She was looking for me in the store, and couldn't see our rental car, still parked in the same spot. She talked to the employees of the store, got $2 and caught the next bus to the condo. At least she did not file a missing persons report with the Maui Police!
