The only frustrating thing was I wanted the car repaired and picked up by a friend since I was going to be out of town on business. I had a check made out to pay for the repairs but when I called I was told they would not accept a check. I reminded her I had stopped by a few days before to set up an appointment and at that time I explained I would be out of town on business and would they accept a check. I reminded her we were both were close friends with dealer who recommended them, she verbally agreed. I even suggested she contact him since I have done business with him over 20 years. She said that was not necessary. However, when I called to get the price and mentioned my friend would bring a check, drop off my truck and pick up my car. She told me she would not take a check. I reminded her based on my earlier visit the week, she agreed to accept a check since I would be out of town. It was no use, she said she never said that. I reminded her of our discussion but she did not remember. Why would I make that up since I came in to discuss my being out of town when making the appointment. I tried to convince her of out discussion but no use so I gave up. I ended up paying a 3% credit card surcharge. I was extremely annoyed because I really dont know anyone in the area and dont know any mechanics. I looked at 5 mechanics and when I called 3 answered but no one could get me in until a couple days except Rivermont. It was my 2nd choice overall since it was out of the way from the hotel I was staying at, but I managed to limp the car over there with a combination of throttling and letting it coast. I let the guys know that I needed the car back ASAP and they had it ready at the end of the same day. Turns out it was a sensor or something like that causing knocking and hesitation. They diagnosed, got the part and fixed it all within 5 hours. I picked it up before rush hour and made it back to hotel and continued my stay in Chattanooga. I don't remember the guys name, but I think he was the owner of teh shop. He was 100% honest with me about what was wrong, he didnt try to upsell me crap I didnt need like other shops do where I live. Since I was from out of town he could have easily taken advantage of my situation and tried to overcharge or screw me, but he has integrity, honesty and respects people and their hard earned dollars. Not just a good mechanic , a good man. He just found out what was wrong and fixed it. I wish I could find an honest shop like this back where I live. I would have them do all maintenance on my vehicles and any repair. Hands down I would go here again, if you are looking for HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY mechanics this is your shop. When I arrived, they gave me a diagnosis that was on par with what I suspected and did not mislead in attempt to get more work/money. While they had the majority of parts on hand for the job, they have suppliers who work closely with them and was able to order the two parts they didn't have on hand that arrived from out of state the next day. This shop is on top of it and does not waste your time (which is great especially when considering labor costs- they do not mess around). While I was waiting in their lobby for the work to be completed, I observed a lot of positives. There's good karma and energy here. Smiles and hugs, people dropping off food to thank them, and workers aren't approaching you all greasy or sleazy feeling. Perhaps an odd observance to note, but seems like confirmation that honest, transparent, and reasonably priced work is done here for everyone. I can personally attest to this with my experience.
