This dealership repeatedly manipulated sales price and financing terms during my purchase inquiry to pressure me into a deposit before providing a written purchase agreement. The sales staff tried to pass off the MSRP as the final 'out-the-door' price, effectively hiding the cost of taxes, registration, and extra dealer fees that are added later. This makes for a very misleading and dishonest car-buying experience. Furthermore, the finance department quoted higher APR on inflated loan terms despite me qualifying for tier-1 rate only correcting it once I challenged their numbers. I have wanted a Lexus since they first came out and now finally at the age of 60 I decided that this was the right vehicle. After driving several of them I decided to order a NX350H AWD. The salesman we dealt with was Mike Watson and wow what a professional he is. Throughout the ordering process all the way through delivery he kept me updated with text messages. Once it arrived we scheduled the delivery and it too was super easy and no pressure. This is the way a dealership should be ran. There was never any pressure during the process and they gave me a fair trade in on my Toyota Highlander. I am SUPER impressed with the dealership and as shown in the picture they had a bow on the car since it was a gift for my wife at Christmas time. This dealer owes me money! I purchased a $70,000 car from them with an "out the door agreed upon price". They could not add on accessory in time so they told me to have it put on. It would cost $45 and the finance guy would credit that amount. He didn't. I asked the manager where my $45 was. He said we never charged you for it! (He might not be smart enough to know my out the door price should be $45 less.). Next they told me I would not have to do anything with my out of state tags. They would handle and pay for all of that (out the door cost). Florida is now requiring I pay them $100. I told the manager.... He didn't even reply! Overall I am satisfied with the response I got and I think this was just a bad day rather than a reflection of how this company operates. Tuesday, 1/7/2024 I came here looking for a new vehicle. I was greeted before I even got into the door by a polite salesmen who at first seemed knowledgeable and entertaining to talk to. We discussed the vehicles I was looking at potentially purchasing and he even allowed me to test drive a 2025 is 350 F Sport. Upon returning, I explained to him that the vehicle was nice, but I was still torn between Lexus and another car manufacturer. To test the salesmen I asked questions that I already knew the answer to like "Is the 350 F sport's engine Turbo Charged?". The salesmen lied and said that it is. It is not. Since this Is 350 F Sport was the only one available at the dealership, I inquired about the ability to order another one from Lexus to be built and shipped to the dealership, if this one was to be sold. The salesman explained to me that "ever since covid, NO dealership does orders like that anymore. However we can ship in vehicles that are currently at other dealerships". It was kind of funny to hear him say this, as just before I came to Lexus, I was at Acura looking at cars. Their salesmen (and sales manager) assured me that if a car was to be sold out, they can simply order one directly from the factory for me. Before I could get out of the door, the gentleman was offering to hold the car for a $500 "refundable" deposit. My girlfriend who I brought with me (to make sure I do not make any rash decisions, like making a $500 deposit on a car I'm not even sure I want.) shook her head no at me, and the salesman tried to ignore her and tell me that I have the decision on this. The man was nice but this and the lie about the engine were already red flags as to how this experience would go. Over night, I thought about the Lexus vehicles and decided to text the salesmen and set up an appointment to meet to further discuss purchasing a IS 500 F Sport. We agreed to 3:00pm, yet when I showed up at the dealership the salesman was gone. No prior notification that he would not be there at the agreed upon time. I spoke to the receptionist who called him and he had her give me his number to call him directly. Upon doing so, he explained to me that he had a family emergency and would be back at 4:30pm. For a luxury dealership, this is surprising and disappointing that the gentleman did not have the courtesy to call me or even text me to save me the trip! So me and my girlfriend leave and come back at 4:30 and meet with the salesman to discuss the IS 500. They did not have any currently available for a test drive at the dealership so we agreed to have the salesman look into shipping one over from another dealership. In our conversations I asked about the interiors of the IS 500, he explained to me that the interior has REAL leather (And I made sure to clarify that is is genuine, not synthetic leather. I am a big fan of real leather, ass we discussed in a conversation about boots) and a much nicer interior than the IS 350 F Sport. These were also both incorrect statements. The interior of the 350 is nearly identical to the 500 and the 500's only come in Lexus's NuLux leather (which is Synthetic Leather) interior. In discussing financing this vehicle, I explained to the salesman that I plan to trade in my current vehicle. He gave me an offer of $13,000 for it, I stated that Acura has offered me $14,500. He explained that Acura "plays games with numbers, to make it look like they will give me more" and that "we don't play games with the numbers, we just give you the actual price." Another false statement. The salesman was not able to ever get confirmation on if the dealership could ship that vehicle to the Chattanooga location or not, so I texted him the next day (Thursday 1/9/2025) asking about the car. The only thing he responded with is "I will check again". This is the last time I ever heard anything back from the salesman. read more

Service as promised of a pre owned certified NX350 is not covered. The dealer used a 10k service at 6k before purchasing the car and now at the 10k mile service was told I would have to pay for any services needed. For a car with under 10k at a cost of 46k, I think they could do a required service that is required and a normal schedule by their recommendation. read more

(This review is based off of our experience with the vehicle service department, the sales team actually seems nice.) DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CHATTANOOGA LOCATION! We (a local shop) replaced a customer's ABS pump and it need to be reprogrammed. Our software we use did not allow us to reprogram the modules in the car so we sent it up to this dealer. What should have been a 15 minute job to reprogram a module has turned into a week long fiasco about getting this customer's car in time for their vacation. Turns out they will not allow us to get the customer's car back but are willing to give us a loaner car. HOWEVER THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REQUIRED INSURANCE FOR THE LOANED VEHICLE. "We do not own these vehicles, we loan them from Lexus." So this dealer refuses to complete work on a car that was in a week ago that only requires 15 minutes of work. AND IS FORCING THE CUSTOMER TO DRIVE AN UNINSURED VEHICLE AND STATES THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE INSURANCE YOURSELF AND IT WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DEALER. To make this short I was misled and pressured into a trade for my 8th lexus (first from this dealer) I was told incorrect information about the car then was told the offer for my trade for their car was 1 day only and there were others wanting this car. I asked the salesperson to meet me halfway since I was out of the area so we met at a gas station at interstate exit. This is on me but i felt obligated. I was told this car had luxury package and later found out that isn't correct. I made the trade after hours at this gas station but 12 hours later the next morning asked to undo the deal because I had discovered the mis information and the fact that I way overpaid. I was told the deal is done even though paperwork hadn't even been turned in etc. It took 8 days to get the paperwork ! I overpaid by several thousand and don't appreciate being misled and pushed then no attempt to undo a deal that hadn't even been submitted yet. This dealer is more concerned about numbers rather than customer service and I have bought many lexus before and never had a Bad experience but this was one indeed. if I was misinformed about the package and demand then I wonder how many other buyers have been too and may not know it. There are many other lexus dealerships and if I can ever recover from this bad deal I will be trading again but never again from lexus of Chattanooga. Buyer beware I guess. read more

Even though this is not my primary dealership that I utilize for my maintenance, I contacted them because my service light came on once I arrived in town. Andrea was the person that took my call and she made me a same day appointment. I arrived 30 mins early and she was very professional. The waiting area was a bit crowded but because I offered to wait I just walked around the dealership. Fred Fortson greeted me in the sales area and in turns out he was my salesman from when my parents purchased my first car in 1994. He was very professional as well and gave me his card for any future purchases. The reason I did not give them 5 stars is because at Johnson Lexus of Durham a full service car wash is given no matter the reason your car comes in. Im sure my husband paid for this service but unfortunately this dealership did not offer it or do it. If I'm in town and need service I would definitely come back. Having owned Lexus vehicles bought at multiple dealerships in Texas since the year 2000, I have been a fan of their vehicles due to great performance, style, attention to detail, price/value and until moving to Chattanooga their service. While the cost to acquire a Lexus (owned and leased both GS and ES vehicles) puts it in the luxury state, there was never a doubt about my family's and other passenger's safety, getting to my destination with a great ride, quiet and solid. Yet, over the 18 months since coming to town, while I continued to maintain my vehicle at this dealership, I was so disappointed that I vowed not to even consider another Lexus when looking to replace my last car when the lease came due. This was based on less than stellar results to the maintenance details, significant overcharging by twice the cost(later returned difference) and among other things lack of concern by anyone at the dealership including the owner. Even when I turned the car in, there was another error initially citing 50,000 miles more than was actually on the vehicle. I did try to reach out several times to the owner without any success. read more

Recently, I was in the market for a new car. I test drove a 2019 Lexus RX350. The young sales associate Austin was terrific. He was patient in helping is locate the right car, explaining the featues and going for a test drive. During the test drive, my upper back between the shoulders and my neck began to cramp. We determined that it was the wing shape of the seat back along with the wedge at the top of the seat that pushed me into a forward position due to my size (6'4" +). Austin had me try several models of the RX350, but all caused the same problem. So, here is where it totally tanked. He went to the GM who was on-site at the time. I saw the GM laugh, which I thought little about until Austin came back and reported that the GM said that he had never heard of that problem before. Yup, that was all he had to say. Austin, to his credit went, to look for an after market accessory that may have worked. But, I was done. All flows from the top and there was no way I would give business to this dealership with that sort of attitude from the GM. Oh, did he even look at me as I walked past his glassed office? Nope. Did he say anything at all to me? Nope. I decided to go with the BMW X5. I guess one customer matters little to this dealership. It would have been a foreseeable nightmare to deal with any follow-up issues had I purchased from this dealership. You can bet I will share my experience at every opportunity. read more

I have been disappointed with my service at Lexus ( supposedly luxury car service). My perception of the dealership is the customer is always trying to rip them off therefore when I mentioned that my wipers were not correctly replaced on my last visit his (this is Ryan at Lexus) comeback was why was he not notified immediately -- needless to say he charged me again for the wipers. Flat tire was supposedly fixed - again notified him of the flat-- Ryans comeback well he was not notified soon enough and I could have had another nail in the tire (of course the same tire in less than 2 weeks-no coincidence there!!!). Yes and my last service charge was about $800 and Ryan would not refund the flat tire charge or the wipers. Well so be it. Yes they offered to fix the flat. But I do not trust lexus of chattanooga with my car. My next car may not be a lexus-- too many other luxury cars available that would like my business and would not treat me like a low life rip off artist. read more

After calling the Michelin company and speaking to a very nice person who was helpful, we found out that in deed we do have a warranty and were told what it was. We then called Lexus back and explained to them what we were told. After waiting for a 3 hour call back we were then told that we would have to take the car to a Michelin dealer for this service.
