So super cute. I love succulents. I have them all in my front yard. I love how they look the different colors they change and how super easy they are to maintain. I was invited by a friend to go visit succulent, vertical gardens and of course I said yes. Anything that has to do with succulents, I'm there. I love the set up and how easily it was to view all of their succulents. I love that they have classes and do private parties. Everyone I came in contact with there was super nice and knowledgeable about the different kinds of succulents and where they would grow best , how big they would get and the overall maintenance of all the plants. The prices were really reasonable. At first, I was just going to look, but then seven plans later, I came to the conclusion that I was actually there to shop. I have been to Kileen's a number of times just for succulent shopping. They have a huge variety. But I have not been for about a year. This time I went, utaking a couple of friends for a birthday celebration. We or rather I treated them to the potting bar Situation. With a small party of under six people, we could do a walk-in event and not have to make an appointment. For parties of six or greater it's best to get a reservation and have a set time. The vertical garden had a number of tables dotted around their facility. They've changed their set up slightly so that they have a number of garden rooms. This creates a feeling of intimacy while you're crafting in your event. For the base price of I believe it's $35 you receive the potting soil, the event, toppings of small pebbles, regular moss. You pick whatever succulents you want to include in your potting after you choose the size of container which you want to purchase The Succulents and the container cost are add-ons. You might want to do a ferry garden and have figurines and they have many different choices from which to select and purchase. The staff member explains everything to you and then you go to town. You can take as short or as long as you wish. My friend who was celebrating her birthday, had an absolute ball. We had many many varieties of succulents to choose from; it was a fun and relaxing day in early spring. There's enough shade cover to make it very pleasant and accommodating, and they have water available. What really makes it great is that they have lots of different arrangements on the walls and on the side bars so that you can Walk around the gardening center and see examples of some things you might like to create. This is a fun and unique experience for those who are interested in gardening and want a special event that's fairly affordable. While an overall a decent outing for my group of 7, we felt the customer service and flow of the guided succulent potting could have been more clear and smooth. My cousin messaged the business beforehand to inquire as to whether we needed reservations to do succulent potting and they responded that while they do generally take reservations for larger groups, it would be ok for us to just walk in. When we arrived, the employee briefly explained the concept but was not clear that we should notify her when we were ready to begin potting. As a result we wandered around and just picked pots and succulents. When we asked the employee at what point she would guide us she told us that we should have told her that we were ready before even picking pots and succulents. Oops! We had no clue. We sat at a table and she went over basic succulent care and planting. It appeared she was new as she seemed to forget steps and had to correct herself several times. There was also another employee working with an AirPod in her ear so when we approached her to ask questions, she did not respond. Eventually our group completed our planting, it was an average of $40 for a small succulent planter. But cost really all depends on how many succulents, extra pebbles, moss and accessories. We had fun as a group but the overall customer service experience left much to be desired. read more

I took my BFF for a birthday outing. We decided to try something we have never done before, and this was it! We were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Gianna explained very carefully how we were going to place our succulents into our vessels. We chose the vessel and the succulents, and we had a wonderful time sitting, sipping tasty drinks, and putting our beautiful succulent plantings together. It was a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere with fresh air, soft music, and super friendly and helpful people to guide us. There was a vast selection of both vessels and succulents to choose from, and they were all hand made right there on sight. It was just a super great and relaxing time spent together. I finally stopped by Kileen's nursery and boutique at 7313 N. DeWolf Ave. Just north of Herndon Ave. I was greeted by a polite young man who showed me around and answered all my questions. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I purchasers a large 'W' and was invited to pick the plants to go in it. Then I got to watch as Kileen planted it. Kileen has a lovely set up where you can arrange planting parties and classes. They will even design frames to your choice of shapes. I will definitely be a regular customer. I was at an apple orchard in CA and saw this vendor and loved her arrangements. I live on the east coast so I asked to have it shipped for a specific date. She was kind enough to put the arrangement together for me on the spot so I would know what it would look like. The date came and it did not show up. I notified the vendor and she sent me the tracking number. She also did some research on her side to see where the shipment may be. Days went by and no luck. Well they put together another arrangement sent it out and sent me the tracking information. We kept in touch the whole eleven days it took the second arrangement to arrive. When it did it was perfect. The customer service and people behind Kileens are as wonderful as their work. What a fun night! Killeen and Shane hosted our group of 10 and served up yummy treats and wine while we all enjoyed creating our succulent craft. Shane has so many shapes to choose from and we all got to do exactly what we wanted. The plants are beautiful and loads of choices. They were patient and had a real joy about the evening. The fire was lovely, no one was cold (we dressed in layers but did not need more than a sweater). I would recommend this as a team building or special night out. We picked very large pieces so came out to closer to $100pp total, but the smaller piece that is included would have been enough too. read more

Attended high tea for a friends birthday. It was a perfect afternoon. Killeen and her staff are very sweet and attentive. The food was fabulous especially the scones and clotted cream. We all put together our succulents in the vertical containers and went home with beautiful arrangements. She carries a huge variety of succulents, many I've never seen before. They recently placed a new sign, so I made the turn into their place yesterday...they are about the fifth house on the left.. and so sorry I missed their "grand opening" last week..
