First time in the Kilmardinny, sadly was in Kilmardinny for tea time after my uncles funeral, though a sad occasion it was an honor to be in his local for a pint and to raise a glass (or two) in his honor.
The pub is quite large and can accommodate a large party such as ourselves for the afternoon. Lots of TV's to catch a match and craic to feel at home.
We had a lovely veg soup upon our arrival to take the cold from the gravesite out of us and get the warmth back in. The soup was piping hot and light enough to leave room for a lovely tea sandwich or two. And the tea sandwiches were served with crunchy rippled cheese and onion crisps (Hunkey Dorys) that complimented the sandwhiches nicely. The service was a bit scattered but can't slag them considering we were quite a large party all at the same time. Once they got going they were friendly and attentive. The Guinness was nice, the tea and they make a lovely Irish Coffee as well.
To you Uncle Paddy, it was an honor to sit in your local and celebrate you! read more
