    Irish coffee
    Anna J.

Coming back from a long day and we were looking for an Irish coffee to end our day. Google said this was one of the best ones and they were right! We got a table outside and the server was super nice and patient. Got a round of Irish coffees and sat and drank for a while. Vibes were great the drink was delish! I just love that casual bars can do drinks like this in Dublin. The cream was excellent and the coffee and whiskey was perfect to balance the sweet cream. Truly a great treat!

My partner and I ended up here after the pub we tried to go to stopped serving food a minute after we got there. I'm so glad we went here instead! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the very friendly barman who told us to pick a table and he would be right with us. True to his word, he was there not a minute later and took our drink orders. I just had water and my partner had a rock shandy. A server came by a few minutes later to take our food orders. I got the Cajun chicken burger and my partner got the vegetable rigatoni. The rock shandy was delicious and refreshing. It had just the right ratio of soda to juice. The chicken burger was also very tasty. The breading was crispy and delicious and the chicken was flaky and well-cooked. The fries were also pretty good. The rigatoni was super flavorful and had a great sauce with it. We ate quickly and paid the bill, leaving less than an hour after arriving. The pub was filling up quickly so we knew it was a popular spot, and now we know why. The pub is a bit loud as pubs generally are, so it's not a place to bring your kids or anyone who is sensitive to noise. It's very cozy and has a great atmosphere and I would absolutely go back again. I definitely recommend this pub! The food is delicious and the staff are a delight.

It is a beautiful old pub that is a must-visit--tucked in on a side street with tons of seating and cozy little tables. We had lunch here, and everyone was pleased with their sandwiches. The bartender helped as we were visiting at an off time of day, and she was lovely and helpful.

The Bankers Bar is a classier pub than your typical as you have all their collection of whiskeys lighted up along their wall. It's a nice spot for a date night as there's some ambiance to the place. We ended up here since it was near our hotel, but it's a pretty neat pub. We had some drinks and ended the night with a slice of the Bailey's Cheesecake (€6.95). I liked that it was paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to balance the density of the cheesecake. Great bar to check out.

Very quaint pub with awesome whiskey options (we had a flight) and plenty of beer selections, but who needs that when you have Guinness?! We sat at the very back where they have a cozy area with tables and had a blast watching everything going on. Our waitress was very friendly and took care of us with a thorough explanation of the Irish whiskeys we selected for the flight we had. It can get loud so be prepared to partake in the ruckus.

Really great traditional pub food. I got the bangers and mash and it was delicious and definitely warmed me up. It can get pretty busy in the bar area but it's a great place to meet people over a drink. Not the most comfortable seating near the bar but a great place

The interior architecture is absolutely stunning. The staff works very hard at making everyone's experience pleasure super friendly, super proficient. If you have an opportunity to go and enjoy dinner, I highly recommend it one of my favorite restaurants in Dublin.

I came here with my family for lunch on vacation on a Friday in august. It was nice and quiet at the time - relaxing cozy short booth stool seating. Service was great. Beer was great. Guinness pie was delicious!

The food was spectacular! and the upstairs teller room is so relaxing, and cozy compared to the loud and crowded nearby pubs. So if you're looking to get away from the chaos, this is a good option. They do full, and half pints, plus service was friendly. The fish and chips was super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside as it should be, everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals very much.

Beef and Guiness pot pie with delicious bread: 12.95
    Mark L.

This is a very comfortable and friendly place where I had lunch and a Guiness on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too crowded. They have several high tables around the bar as you enter and I sat at one and ordered a Guiness from the bartender. For lunch I decided to try the Guiness beef stew, which is a kind of meat pie with a very light and flaky crust on top and a rich gravy with large pieces of beef inside. It was a very hearty meal and comes with a slice of a moist dark bread, which was very good. Prices were a little high but standard for the area. The stew was 12.95. With a beer the total was just shy of 20 EUR. I'd recommend this place and would try it again.

I had a reservation for a game and was given a booth. My boyfriend arrived a few minutes, and he should have been able to get in with no problem since we had a reservation, but the bouncer refused to let a single person in due to full capacity. I had an empty seat open in front of me and already ordered our food for the game, so I told this to the bouncer. However, he avoided eye contact as he told me to find a manager. The manager, in fairness, was very nice and he told the bouncer to finally let my boyfriend in. This whole ordeal unfortunately took a half hour, and our food got cold.

Now the bar is understaffed, they don't have the same selection of drinks, and the food has become inedible. Tried two dishes and both arrived cold. The sauces are tasteless and you can tell they are trying to pinch every penny out of the place. The new owners have taken what was Dublin's best sports bar and turned it into a place to avoid. If you like hot wings and good service, sadly, you'll have to go somewhere else.

What a fun sports bar for a night out in Dublin…read more My girlfriend and I googled for a bar that may have the Eagles game on, and word was Sinnotts was one of the bars in the area that frequently puts Eagles games on or whatever the most asked for game is by most patrons at the time. My girlfriend and I were off both geared up in our Eagles jerseys and myself sporting an Eagles hat as well. We were determined to make our presence known and really hope they would put it on the big screen for us if we showed the proper amount of enthusiasm and zeal. Luckly, it worked and another couple came in right after us decked out in eagles gear as well, score, we now had a rooting section as soon as you entered the establishment. They had a great 2 for 1 margarita deal and they were quite good. The food was nothing to sneeze at either, the Irish Stew was probably my favorite of the whole trip, and my only gripe is I wish the portion size was a little larger. I tasted my gf's dish which was the braised beef, and it was a heaping portion size and good, not the best in all of our trip but still very good. This was one of our first few nights in Dublin before meeting up with our tour group for a drive over parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland and I am very glad we chose here as one of the bars. I would recommend if you are in the area and want to make a night out of it watching a sports game, grabbing some food, and if you're in the mood to indulge in a few cocktails, well you will definitely have a wide array of spirits and beer to choose from. As always people SYOY!!!

Such a change from the last experience a year ago…read more We had 8:30 PM reservations. Arrived around 8:10 and were told to wait at the bar. No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.
