I'm not sure why this place does not have better reviews! Very cool bar, friendly staff, unbelievably delicious drinks and reasonably priced... our first day in Dublin and we'll make a second trip bsck

Don't ever let the location or address fool you....this is a gem of a bar in the middle of Coolock village. It is very on the inside, sleek, shine and glamorous with a very well stocked bar. The cocktail menu is huge and they were been ordered left, right and centre....which is the sign of excellent cocktails! The DJ rocked the place and had everyone up dance to any request made!!

We visited twice, and the first time was on a Wednesday night. They were able to accommodate us mid-week without a reservation, but Friday night we made one to come back. There were gobs of people waiting to get in so we're glad we did! The entrance is very non-descript. It's an ugly grey metal door with VCC randomly applied, so if you didn't know what was there it would look industrial. There is a door bell to the left of the door. Ring it a few times and someone will open the door and check you in. With reservations they do make you wait until exactly that time so don't be alarmed. Your table is already selected for you. The inside is loungy and very swanky. Both times we had extremely comfortable chairs. Service is immaculate. Their menu is massive, very well published and explained. Our servers were both able to explain exactly what the cocktail may taste like as some of the combos might blow your mind. I had the Dirty Wizard which sounds odd on based on ingredients but was delicious. I also had the Purple Pearl which was my perfect cocktail. My husband tried a few different whiskey concoctions and he was impressed by all of them. I highly recommend adding VCC to your Dublin itinerary!

Inside are three floors of cozy cocktail lounges with antiques, art, and decor to match the name. The dim lighting added to its speakeasy vibe. Good for relaxing compared to the noisy bars nearby. Located in the middle of an alley - look for a plain metallic door with the letters VCC and ring the doorbell. A reservation is highly suggested though our small group did a walk-in.

Went to Gilbert & Wright in Malahide and have to say I would not be recommending it ever again…read more Buying my first glass of wine I was stared at by a second bar girl who asked me was I going to pay for my wine. I had already paid the girl that had served me?! On my second glass of wine and needed the toilet, while leaving my glass with a little wine in it. On arriving back from toilet my wine was gone. Mentioning this to the lounge boy he politely informed me he would check what had happened. A few minutes later and I get a visit from what this pub calls a 'manager' (name witheld) and apart from him being enraged, he simply denied that my wine was ever taken, then proceeds to shout over me and act in a very confrontational manner, squaring up to me while roaring into my face. This 'manager' guy at Gilbert & Wrights would not even allow me to politely articulate my issue. His default mode was shouting full denial into my face. Not wanting to get barred from here, I felt I had no other option but to forget about my wine and go purchase another glass at the bar. This review is not about a wine glass, it's about Gilbert & Wright's response to my very polite comment about their removal of my drink. For to be treated in this manner by their raging 'manager' is inexcusable and I will not be returning here any time soon. Gilbert & Wright Malahide please get your act together and stop insulting your customers. AVOID Gilbert & Wright Malahide at all costs.. AVOID !

The pub is quite large and can accommodate a large party such as ourselves for the afternoon. Lots of TV's to catch a match and craic to feel at home. We had a lovely veg soup upon our arrival to take the cold from the gravesite out of us and get the warmth back in. The soup was piping hot and light enough to leave room for a lovely tea sandwich or two. And the tea sandwiches were served with crunchy rippled cheese and onion crisps (Hunkey Dorys) that complimented the sandwhiches nicely. The service was a bit scattered but can't slag them considering we were quite a large party all at the same time. Once they got going they were friendly and attentive. The Guinness was nice, the tea and they make a lovely Irish Coffee as well. To you Uncle Paddy, it was an honor to sit in your local and celebrate you!

Thought provoking albeit populist musings on systemic corruption in Irish politics are always offered. If hunger in addition to an unquenched thirst draws you to Kenny's then I suggest the Planter's Peanut salad as an appetizer followed by Cheese 'n Onion Lasange. For smokers, the front patio offers spectacular views of the sun setting over Lorcan Avenue.
