Plenty of park benches and trash cans for having bday parties. Also Built in BBQ pits. Parking is free and very conveniently accessible with over 120 spots, with RV parking. Public bathrooms are available and opened and cleaned daily. There are 2 massive playgrounds available for all ages. One is located next to the park benches and BBQ puts and the other right behind the ball field. My daughter and I had an amazing time at cedar grove community park. Very clean and safe atmosphere. A Place to Play on Elliott Street…read more Elliott Street Playground is another fun Morristown neighborhood playground tucked away at the end of a quiet street. It offers 2 play structures for 2-5 year olds and 5-12 year olds respectively, 2 toddler swings, 2 standard swings, 1 covered picnic area with a picnic table, 1 full basketball court, 1 tennis court, a small green space, and access to Patriots Path near Speedwell Lake. No drinking fountains or restrooms are located here so play your day accordingly. This playground is a great feature in a well manicured neighborhood. The playground is well laid out which allows for keeping track of little ones from any angle. This includes the covered picnic area. Both play structures are easily accessible by parents who need to assist little ones just learning how to play here. The 5-12 year olds play structure includes monkey bars that are suitable for kids and adults to use for some play/exercise outside. It also features a double wide slide to allow for sliding down with your little ones on your lap. The 2-5 year olds play structure has 45° angled climbing wall and crawling tube to keep things fun and simple. The courts are full sized and fully functional. There is a green space next to the courts that is just large enough to lightly toss a ball or frisbee around. Just past the courts and green space you will find an entrance to Patriots Path. This entrance leads to Speedwell Lake which offers nature views and trout fishing. The T-intersection near Speedwell lake indicates you have arrived at Patriots Path which is designated for bicycle and foot traffic. At this T-intersection you can take a right towards Speedwell Park or a left towards the Lake Road crossing. Being a neighborhood playground it isn't typically full of children through the day. But it is a nice little spot to spend some time playing outside whenever you are in the area. Our little one loves to walk to Elliott Street playground from Speedwell Park via Patriots Path to get in a walk, some nature, and some extra playground time.

I wasn't able to find many good playgrounds in and around Lincoln Park. Yes, there's a small…read moreplayground nearby, but it doesn't have swings and only has one slide. One day while coming back from Costco, we noticed Centennial Park. It is mainly a children's playground, with a small gravel walking path and a couple of benches for adults. When I searched online, I found very few photos of the park. So during our visit, we clicked around 20 pictures to help others get a better idea of what the playground looks like. My daughter is 15 months old, and she had a great time on the swings. I think kids between 2 and 10 years old would enjoy this place even more. There are multiple slides, climbing structures, a merry-go-round, and lots of other play equipment to keep them busy. There is a gravel parking area, so parking wasn't an issue. The only downside is that the park is tucked away a little inside the neighborhood instead of being on the main road. That may be why it's usually less crowded than you would expect. Overall, it's a nice neighborhood playground and a great place to bring young kids for an hour or two.

Daughter had a blast as we decided to take advantage of one of the last warm days of the year. It has structures for smaller children as well as larger children, and is beautifully decorated with large flowers that can provide shade form the hot sun on a summer day. I was informed by another mom here that this playground was recently renovated. There's also a large grass area and a small trail behind the playground. Tons of space and options. The frog and bear structures at the entrance are actually small trash cans- both a good and bad idea as it's aesthetically pleasing, however not an obvious trash can and leading young kids like my daughter to try to play with them (it took a few minutes for even me to realize they were trash cans). Minus one star as the baby swings and regular swings are on opposite ends of the playground, making it impossible to push both your older child and toddler child at the same time.

The playground area is large with lots of various slide / tunnel / swing / climbing wall options. My daughter is 1.5 and there is plenty for her to do. In addition to a playground there is also a large basketball court, soccer field and a gazebo. There are always a ton of organized sports going on, especially during the weekends. Parking and benches are plentiful. Simons Park doesn't get as crowded as Central Park, but also has a bit more to do than Watnong Park. Because of that it's usually my go-to, and is the perfect way to get fresh air with my mini.

There are both regular swings, toddler swings, and a see-saw in addition to the play structures. You can keep an eye on your little ones from one of several benches in or around the playground. If you would like to watch like a pro in the shade you can keep an eye on them from the gazebo that is located right next to the playground. The ground cover is made of recycled tires to protect your little ones from little falls. The trees next to this playground provide shade later in the afternoon so plan your sun exposure accordingly. There is a water fountain here between the basketball court and playground that is available seasonally. There is currently (end of Spring 2016) a blue porta-potty near the entrance to the parking lot near the corner of Hillview Ave and Mountain Way. The bathrooms attached to the concession stand are typically not available unless there is a large sporting or community event going on so plan your intake and output needs accordingly.

Oh heyy, there's a new playground in town…read more It's not the biggest but it's well done and tucked away from the road so as you walk the pathway it feels like you're on an adventure. The theme of this new park is giving wildlife/tree house vibes. They've got some owls perched in a few locations and the kiddos can press a few buttons and hear what a wolf or raccoon sound like. Sign says kids 5+ and I agree.. with the exception of a toddler swing this playground isn't for the little littles. Bonus -- this playground is located right next to a bunch of fields (town website says soccer & softball) which would be good for running and getting that extra energy out.. and also the Preakness Brook, which is lovely on a fall day and fun for exploring. For parking you'll want to find a [street] spot at either end of the park but the playground is located farther down on Oakley Way (path is located about halfway between Graham and Ashwood).

This playground has a range of activities for the kiddos: - slides (varying in size/style) - swings - a ship that rocks back and forth - merry-go-round with space for a wheelchair - "rollercoaster" - monkey bars/structure for climbing - tunnels - musical instruments & sensory activities Plus there's a picnic area with tables and benches throughout. The area is neighborhood based and very friendly -- we've seen doggies going for walks, walking groups, and music in the park classes. Parking is very limited -- I think there may only be 8-10 spots, but plenty of street parking and a speedbump so you can feel comfortable walking w/ your little ones.

Black Brook Park is 11 acres of recreational area carved into the suburban woodlands of Whippany…read more It's a great spot for a bike ride, jog, or just getting your steps in thanks to it's paved path. You can also check out the smaller field and show your support as the local little league teams play baseball on the 60 ft diamond. There's also a full sized 90 ft diamond as well as lighted tennis courts, pickle ball, basketball, roller hockey, and volleyball courts.    In the warmer months they hold concerts and live events at the gazebo area and they also have a horseshoe pit which can sometimes get competitive. Not saying I'm a ringer or nothing but I have been known to throw a shoe now and again, just don't forget to bring your wallet Lol.    This park is always well maintained and clean and they're very serious about keeping that way. Dogs are welcomed as long as they're picked up after and there are restrooms located near the front parking lots. Come And Get Your Activities On!!

Wanted to explore a new park today and found Black Brook Park, an 11-acre multi-purpose family…read morefriendly park situated in lovely Whippany (Hanover Twp), NJ. Per the township website and as is apparent once you arrive at this well-maintained, clean and beautiful park, it offers the following: Basketball court Bike and jogging path around the perimeter of the park Four lighted tennis courts Gazebo Horseshoe Pit Little League diamond (60 feet) Picnic area Playground Restrooms Standard size baseball field (90 feet) Tennis practice wall Tot playground next to the small diamond Two roller hockey courts Volleyball court Black Brook also offers a snack bar during baseball season, as well as picnic rentals. Even with overcast skies, it was great to be able to enjoy the fresh air and get the endorphins released today at such a pleasant spot. If you're a walker/runner, you may not find the perimeter of the trails adequate in terms of the stretch of trails (you can do multiple loops) but what's nice about this park is that you can venture into the very nice surrounding residential developments to get more distance in, with inclines/downhills. Great place to bring your doggie(s) too! They also have a nice little playground for the little ones. Check out Black Brook in Whippany!! :)
