Maybe it's just tonight, being a Saturday night and being busy, I'm not sure. Maybe it's simply that two teenagers are "in charge" right now (likely the problem). In any case, this was not a good time to be here. We waited near the register at the truffle counter. We waited while one of these employees talked with and loaded up chocolate for some people she obviously knew well- four or five people; a couple of adults and their teenagers. They had waffle ice cream cones, the dipped and sprinkled kind, a pint of ice cream to go, they ordered various chocolates and "oh can I get a candy apple" for one of the teenagers. Apparently this is free night because the worker told them there was no charge. She apparently knew this was wrong, because she tried to be very quiet about it, she whispered it to them while glancing over at us. Then she just walked away. Hey, maybe she owns the place, or Mommy and Daddy do and they are okay with their kid/employee giving away $75 worth of goods. Whatever. I mention it because it was weird. Like I said she just walked away after that and completely ignored us. She went to help people on the other side of the store to get them ice cream so we followed her and asked her where was the line to order chocolates and she said "oh well this is the ice cream line so I guess here". I didn't bother mentioning that we were standing over there waiting for her to assist us, she knew we were there and she knew we saw everything. Her cohort finally got around to us, we bought our chocolates and we left but Lordy, it rubbed me the wrong way. Snitty little teenagers giving stuff (a lot!) away to their friends for free and ignoring actual customers. What is going on with these kids? Stopped here during a family reunion weekend. Delicious! As soon as you open the doors you are enchanted by the chocolate aroma. There is a nice selection of different pre packaged chocolates and other treats. We headed straight to the ice cream counter. The nice young lady was very patient as our crew sampled different flavors before settling on each of their orders. I personally got a waffle cup which was crisp and fresh with half praline pecan ice cream and half some wonderful concoction with vanilla, caramel, and chocolate covered peanut butter chips ( I can't remember the name). Kilwins is always a solid choice. If you're in PSL having dinner in Tradition Square, end the evening with Kilwins and a stroll. I'm pretty basic when it comes to ice cream. Vanilla will always be my choice. I did sample the praline caramel ice cream, it too sweet for my liking. I thought it would be like butter pecan, but the caramel definitely sweetened the pot. I usually love Kilwins but this location falls below the high standard that I have grown to enjoy. The employees were not enthusiastic and although the ice cream was good the caramel corn with nuts had an odd taste. It is one of my favorite purchases and with a 24 ounce bag priced at $23.99 I expect nothing but delicious. ....Instead I received stale and odd tasting. I would have returned the item but this location is over two hours my home and I opened the bag a day after my purchase. I will not return to this location for chocolates or caramel corn. read more

I usually just get ice cream & I wanted to try something new so I asked for a shake. Once I walked out I tried my drink and it didn't taste anything like the ice cream. So I went back in & said to the 4/5 ladies that were in there, this shake doesn't taste anything like the ice cream. There response was there's milk... it's a milk shake..duh very rudely. Instead of helping me with the situation they made me feel like I was dumb. I've never had a shake before and I didn't know that there was added milk into it. (2%). After going back & forth. I said ...well I don't like this, can I just change it. After all of them looked and talked to me VERY RUDELY, one of them helped me out. THIS WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I can't speak to their chocolate, but the ice cream here was fantastic. I had a cup of dulce de leche, which was nice because I feel like that's not a flavor I always see. It was really creamy and sweet. It definitely tasted like the real thing, and it was the perfect serving size to satisfy. Kinda wish they didn't use plastic cups but it is what it is. I first discovered Kilwin's ice cream while in college in Michigan, and it has been a favorite ever since. Whenever I visit relatives in Port St. Lucie, I try to stop by at Kilwin's. On Christmas Eve, we decided to go for some ice cream, but I called first to check if they were closing early for the holiday. I called at 3:58 PM, asked when they were going to close, and was told that they were closing in 2 minutes. Disappointed, I thanked them and hung up. Then I decided to take a chance and see if they'd be open on Christmas, so I called back, and was politely told that they'd be closed. I was leaving town the morning of December 26th, so I kicked myself for not going there earlier and missing my chance for my favorite ice cream. About 2 minutes later, Joanie from Kilwin's called me back, said I sounded desperate for ice cream (I was) and said she'd stay late so I could swing by. What a wonderful surprise! My aunt and I jumped in the car, drove to Kilwin's, arrived about 20 minutes after closing, and left with delicious ice cream and chocolates. I was floored by Joanie's willingness to stay late on Christmas Eve just so we could get our sugar fix. As usual, the ice cream and chocolates were divine.
