I have been going for acupuncture for 30 years. Having lived in many cities I make finding a great acupuncturist a priority. I usually know from the approach and first needle if they will be effective for me. Dr. Kim has a unique approach that I have not encountered before. I have a shoulder impingement that he is helping me with. The first few minutes Dr. Kim works on opening up your body channels with a very strong manipulation on your back. Almost like an acupressure massage but stronger. When I first encountered this it was uncomfortable as it is very strong. When he is finished you turn over and he gives you the more traditional acupuncture treatment. It was explained to me that his approach in opening up your body channels allows the energy to flow better when you are getting the acupuncture done. I have gone to Dr. Kim 3 times so far. During the first 5 minutes I swear I will not come back because it is uncomfortable. By the time I leave, I feel great and of course I make another appointment. My shoulder is feeling much better. I have had many people try to treat my shoulder in this past year and Dr. Kim thus far has made the most improvement. This has been an interesting process for me and I am happy with the results. Dr Kim and Mason have been very kind to me and they are always making sure I feel comfortable and that I am okay. I have a unique case and was getting juggled around from Dr to Dr not knowing what was wrong with me. Dr kim was able to diagnose me with mild Bell's palsy. I'm 6 sessions in and while I'm not 100% healed yet I'm confident with Dr. Kim's experience and care that we will get there soon. The swelling and pain have gone down quite a bit. Dr.Kim is a true acupuncture expert. He is friendly and his wife does all the intake and scheduling. She too is expert at her job and works hard to accommodate her patients. The office is nice very attractive and comfortable. Dr. Kim had me back walking in three visits while I am suffering a pinched nerve. When I came to him he diagnosed me as have a bursitis in my hip. This clinic seems to provide good treatment. The assistant is to the point and expressed care for my case. The only thing I found awkward is the acupuncturist does not speak any English at all, and the assistant translates for him. I just didn't feel completely comfortable with needles sitting in my skin and no way to communicate with him once left alone with him in the treatment session. I have been to tons of acupuncturists all over California through the years, and I absolutely love Dr. Kim and Mison (the office manager and his wife I think). Acupuncture really helps me with chronic pain, hormone related issues, and anxiety/mood and the total relief I've gotten from Dr. Kim is wonderful. He is the real deal! He is definitely a natural healer, and though they did an extremely thorough intake appointment, I love going in every week and he knows just what to do. My favorite part of the treatment is the Tui-Na which opens the energy channels, basically it feels like an epic massage and I'm sure it helps the needles be more effective. He also has this massager machine which feels sooo good. Also, i was introduced to their practice through Groupon but dont do it- they have a great package deal so just ask Mison about it. It's hard for me to put into words the wonders. I'm sure Dr. Kim knows what his doing. Dr.Kim have worked on my back and neck. When I first went in, I was unable to walk or hardly move for that matter. The results have been amazing!!!!! I wasn't sure about Accupuncture before, since I had never done it. I went in after throwing out my back and neck, I was barely able to stand or sit up straight .After one session I was able to walk without pain. After six sessions, it was like nothing ever happened. Mison's response to my review is a complete lie. There are many other reviews I have read since my negative experience that echo my exact sentiments. Several clients complain of how "rude and nasty" she is and her level of unproffesionalism. I have another accupuncturist who I love and have been seeing regularly. I will never return back to a clinic where I am not valued as a person or paying customer. Mison needs to be fired immediately. By the look of dissappointment and disgust in Dr. Kim's eyes, I could tell this is not the first time he has witnessed her bad behavior towards a person. It's a real shame, Dr. Kim deserves a more helpful and compassionate person working for him, instead of the rude and aggressive Mison and her obvious unhealed trauma. Horrible, rude, nasty customer service. Mison is nasty and rude! I didn't have a Chance to meet at Dr. Kim, because his reception is extremely unprofessional and have no idea how to run customer service, she doesn't like people in general! I arrived to my appointment on time. She wants me to revile my credit card information or put cash down , in case If I'm going to be late for my next appointment or in case if I'm not going to keep appointment they will charge me , so already threatening me with punishment ! When I said I don't have on me credit card or cash she said we cannot take you ! I was driving 25 miles with the pain and she turn me down?! I didn't came to dance, I was looking for pain relief and she refused to help me just because I didn't have cash! With that rude attitude she should never run customer service! After sharing this experience with my friend, she told me she had very bad experience with this people too, when they make her pay cash telling her then her insurance is not covering and charging her insurance for the sessions she never had in the same time, it is horrible! I was crying from my pain and horrible experience. Everything this lady is saying in response it's completely false, lies and not true! I had an accident a few years ago and tried all different things but still in pain. Went to see Dr. Kim 5 times here, I feel I'm making progress after a few times. I highly recommend acupuncture with Dr. Kim and Mison for any ailments, aches or pains that traditional medicine does not seem to be helping. I had something called Grover's Disease, which doctors told me there was really nothing they could do for me except prescribe a steroid cream, which didn't do anything. My experience at KIM ACUPUNCTURE has definitely imporved my life. I've been dealing with chronic shoulder pain probably caused by wrong golf swing or bad habit of wrong sleeping position. While the location is convenient, clinic is clean and comofortable, the best reward is getting a true expert in both acupuncture and manual therapy. I was very pleased on my first session with Dr. Kim.  I was looking for an acupuncturist for the longest time due to my neck, shoulder and lower back pain that has gotten worse over the years.  I have seen a chiropractor in the past and also seeing a specialist in getting my carpal tunnel syndrome issues resolved.  I came to see Dr. Kim with an open mind, since I've never been to an acupuncturist.  They saw me that same day, had my consultation with Dr. Kim and Ms. Mison. Dr. Kim and Mison have been so helpful to my family. I was looking into a good place for acupunture since my mom has been suffering from migraine since 20 years or more and heard acupunture would help. It did wonders thanks to Dr. Kim. I've had low back pain for over 10 years. After trying all kinds of treatments, therapies and medications, I almost gave up and thought to live with pain for rest of my life. Acupuncture was one last chance referrals by my PCP. My 1st visit was incredibly cosy and comfortable. I've experienced being relaxed enough to fall asleep. I highly recommend Dr. Kim. I had no idea if he could help me but really wanted to stop taking HRT medication (hormone) because of negative side effects. I stopped taking my medicine, saw Dr. Kim the same day and it has gone very well. The negative side effects from the medicine are gone as well as the reasons I was taking the medication to begin with in just a little over a month's time. Amazing! I'm starting to feel like my "old self" before all my hormone issues began - more energy, stable mood, thicker hair (medicine made it thinner), no high body temperature or hot flashes and I've even lost a little bit of weight. I'm very excited and relieved! The Tui-Na is very relaxing and makes the acupuncture needles better (I get very nervous for that part). He is very intuitive and a wonderful healer. Mison is very nice and translates, so you feel all your questions are answered.
