However , this man refused to forward my paperwork. I wouldn't go back to this man if he was the last alleged physician on earth.He should not be caring for any person place or thing! I've been waiting over 10 years to write this review. I never thought that he would be on yelp and I got a knee surgery when I was 17 years old from this guy and it ruined my life believe it or not. Yes my life. I was a minor so at the time my parents helped me pick the doctor. Well insurance actually picked the doctor, but my parents didn't know any better and I didn't know his name till I found his card recently. I had a torn ACL in my right knee and a torn meniscus and I also had a torn meniscus in my left knee. We were supposed to start with the right knee and the insurance only gave authorization for the right knee to any other doctor would've repaired my ACL he told me I'm not an NBA player making millions of dollars a year and it's better to just fix or take pieces off of my meniscus. He basically shaved it to the point that I am bone on bone and never addressed the ACL during the surgery. He took it upon himself to also operate on my left knee and also take the cartilage out of the meniscus on the left knee without my permission or my parents permission. His excuse was he didn't want to put me under again because anesthesia is not good. I never recovered from the surgeries. I spent years addicted to pain medicine and a 30 years old. I have arthritis on my knees and the last time I took an MRI a few years ago a doctor told me I would need a whole knee replacement. I was 26 when I was told I need a knee replacement. I went from a kid in sports who was hurt from a basketball injury to never being able to play any sport again having pain when I walk and years of taking painkillers that letter some pretty bad health issues. I don't even know if what he did was completely legal but so much time his past that I doubt there's anything I can do legally doctors like this should not be around insurance sends them a bunch of people and they just want to do a easy fix and make money and after my surgery, he refused to make any more follow up appointment to see me. I'm still dealing with issues because of the surgeries the sky gave me. I'm here to tell anyone especially young people. Do not go to this guy. I was a young athlete and he basically told me to just give up on any sports for the rest of my life, I got second opinions that told me they should be fixing the ACL first, but they weren't covered by my insurance and we figured a doctor would know what he's doing and I don't think at the time there were any yelp reviews. I wish I could give it negative stars when I say this guy ruined my life. I don't say it lightly. I have arthritis now I can go on for hours not to mention those waiting room visits of sitting in there for hours until he would see you and talk to you for one minute and not answer any questions I had no idea he was gonna shave off most of my meniscus and fix my ACL or I would've never done the surgery. I was given so much painkillers afterwards that I think that's the reason it's a blur and for the next few years I didn't even realize what he had done. I don't know how he's still around. I was reading reviews on this doctor, and would say, that thankfully our experience with him is much better. What I like about him that he is not a surgery only enthusiast, he likes to try all the available options before he goes to the final solution - surgery ( which again never guarantees 100% results) He is an old school, so some people might not like the way he talks, but he is not sugarcoating anything and will lay out the truth to you. I gave them 4 stars, because in general they could be friendlier with their patients, and doctor seems to have a little bit impatience when you ask him more than 3 questions But he is a good doctor, knows what he is doing and I would recommend him. read more

WARNING!! BEWARE!! CAUTION!! STAY AWAY!! RUN!! AVOID!! DO NOT GO!! I went to see Kim InSoo, who took an x-ray. He had to put in a request to my insurance to approve of a cortisone shot for my elbow for an abrasion sprain. The approval goes through. Upon my next visit, Mr. InSoo comes in and says, "How did the shot work?" I told him, "That is why I am here...to get a shot." He then says, "Where does it hurt?" I mean really! He is the expert and asking me where it hurts. So, he orders to have a cortisone shot and when the syringe is ready, he asks me where it hurts again. I thought to myself, "You are the expert, shouldn't you know where the shot goes." I have to pinpoint the pain deep down, near my bone and find the sensitive spot and tell him where it hurts. AND HE DOESN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE X-RAY!!! And so he jabs the shot in me where I show him relatively where my pain is..and calls it a day. Although, this was my second cortisone shot (the 1st one was with a different doctor in a different county). When I had my first cortisone shot done, that orthopedic doctor knew exactly where to give me the shot and never once asked me where the pain was or where he should give me the shot at. I specifically requested for a MRI with Mr. InSoo, but he refused, saying that all I needed was a cortisone shot. Although I already had had one, Mr. InSoo tells me that it is typical to receive more than one cortisone shot for the same issue at hand. The second cortisone shot with Mr. InSoo was a horrible experience. I was in pain for 5 days with an aching pain in my elbow and heart palpitations. I thought something was wrong with me and that I might die, due to the excessive heart palpitations. Mr. InSoo is a quack and doesn't know what he is doing and sure has a bad memory. I filed with the medical board for malpractice! I suggest everyone avoid Mr. InSoo AT ALL COST!!! read more

Inefficient office procedures. Long waiting times at appointments. Promises of "calling back next day", not kept, more than once. Had to nudge office twice about scheduling my surgery. Then not allowed to find out who anesthesiologist is before surgery. Anesthesiologist at least as, if not more important than, surgeon, when undergoing surgery under full narcosis. If you are like me, you know it is prudent to check out credentials of all doctors involved in the procedure. Unnecessary rudeness experienced. Not recommended based solely on personality and attitude, not surgical procedure itself, which I elected to cancel and reschedule with another surgeon. read more

I will have to agree with the rest of the posts in regards to wait time. I went to Dr. Kim ' s office over 6 times, and each time i had to wait over an hour to be seen. The receptionists were unprofessional in every aspect of service; from not calling me regarding changes to my insurance coverage, to lying about leaving messages which I never received. The service was definitely a 1 star or less. As for Dr. Kim, i fely he come off very cold and uncaring. Each visit was less than 5 minutes long and he didnt seem interested in answering any of my questions. I dont think he meant to disregard my concern because he knew that I was progressing without complications and didn't have anything to worry about. I guess i just wanted more reasurring than I received. On a positive note, at least he didnt't waste my time bullshitting me about me condition, and within 3 months I was back to work after suffering from a distal fracture in my humerus. The girl nurses here are all so nice and helpful they smile at you and are super friendly. Sadly when you get to see Dr. Kim himself it's a different experience lol. He's not rude he's just very blunt but he can seem rude for example I tore my acl ligament and fractured my knee when I was recovering he bent my knee forcefully and I understand that's how it's supposed to be done but I told him to wait cause it hurt and he kept saying In a rude way let me do test ! And I was just like well it hurts ! The 5 stars are for the girls in the office on today's visit. .... So far so good . They called me to reschedule my appointment, and found me and appointment a few days later kudos to these girls :-) .... Todays visit my wait time after signing in was maybe 10 to 15 minutes but that's OK because I was running late myself. They were very understanding and very professional about my lateness . I'm going to get my MRI results read and explained to me today hopefully the Doc will take time to answer my questions and explain things so that I understand them. This place deserves no stars. My appointment was at 3 but I was not seen by the dr. until 4. Horrible place!! Not to mention they don't even call to confirm your appointment the day before. I recommend you all to STAY AWAY from this place. Dr kept ignoring my concerns and interrupting me while I'm trying to explain what is going on with my knee. My Mom was referred because of debilitating elbow pain throughout July 2015. We finally got an appointment August 12, at 4:30pm. We waited an extraordinarily long time, but I didn't care about that. Dr. Kim was professional, knew exactly what was causing Mom's pain and, we, as a group, decided surgery would be the best course of action. We wanted surgery immediately to alleviate Mom's pain. HERE'S THE ISSUE: The person responsible for scheduling surgeries told me on our way out August 12, she would call the next day to discuss surgery dates. She did not. After waiting through the weekend, I called the following Monday to inquire how soon this procedure could be performed...She assured me she would see to it Mom's procedure would be scheduled as soon as possible, coodinate all pre operative appointments and call me with the dates. On September 16, this 'scheduler' called, saying Mom missed her pre-op exam on that day (9/16)! We knew absolutely nothing about it. We have a longstanding, respectful relatioship with our PCP and would call if Mom was unable to make ANY appointment. The 'scheduler' also claimed she informed us Mom's surgery was scheduled for September 22. Impossible as we have our annual fall appointment with our PCP that day, which needed to be rescheduled due to a Jewish Holiday. Bottom line: we'd never schedule a conflicting surgery date. This individual said she was certain she informed me of all the appointments listed above. Just the surgery date alone would indicate disception. The last time I spoke with this individual was in August for less than 2 minutes, and I told her I expected her to finish scheduling all remaining appointments for contiuity. I had her on speaker when she called September 16, while she was firm in her position she maintained contact with me and provided every and all appointment dates, so Mom could listen. The 'scheduler' is an androit liar! I just found out this day, September 17, Mom was not scheduled for a pre-op cardiology consult when I called this morning to cancel. This girl never scheduled the cardiology appointment!!! This is Dr. Kim's business, and he hired this person. Employees represent whatever the mission the employer sets. If this type of deception and duplicity and non-communication goes this deep, it begins with the Dr. I called our PCP Office Manager immediately after speaking with this 'scheduler' to inform her of our situation. I called again, today, as soon as I found out Mom had no appointment with her cardiologist. If I cannot trust the staff of a doctor to be professional and understanding the severity of a situation, I absolutely will not trust the doctor to care for my Mom! There is far too much incompetence on the front end, so what could there possibly be on the back end? Surgery canceled. New doctor to be consulted, and Mom is still suffering. Thanks scheduler....for nothing. I pray, as poorly as you treated us, you never have to endure someone like you. read more

My mother was taken to the hospital 911 on a Friday and admitted for pain. The next day, it was discovered by me at 2pm that she had fractured her long neck femur. It was now Saturday. Dr. Insoo was called in to consult and do the repair. I was concerned as this was not a hospital I was familiar with, I googled Dr. Insoo and saw many negative reviews. Needless to say I was freaking out and immediately contacted UCLA Orthopedics and requested a transfer. I went back into my mom's hospital room and was advised by the nurses that they "read" Dr. Insoo the x-ray report and that he ordered she be put in traction (mistake). I told the nurses I wanted to move my mom to UCLA and they literally told me "no", Dr. Insoo would be arriving any minute - Dr. Insoo never arrived and when I called his "exchange" they refused to put through the call. At 2am - almost 12 hours later now - we finally arrived via transport at UCLA Santa Monica - Dr. Insoo never did arrive, he never saw my mom and the medical "order" he gave the nurses to put my mom in traction was wrong and it was immediately removed by the team at UCLA Orthopedics. Always follow your intuition and never be afraid to move your loved one just because 911 took you to that hospital. read more

If there is such a thing as negative stars, I would. First off, my mother in laws MIL went in for continual pain on her left knee for over 3 years. Only a little over a year ago, she started having pain in her right lower back and when she sleeps on the left side with her right leg over her left, she would have numbing sensation. That first visit took over an hour and a half wait and another half hour after the doctor arrived and by the time he came in to see MIL, another 30 minutes or so. Once he came, he said, in order to know the problems, he needed to check for the problems. So he ordered X ray. It was for her back so another 3 hour visit and this time to the knee. This was repeated for the MRI process as well. After few more visits, he said, he wanted to inject steroid to the knee. It had 0% affect. He also prescribed medicines. Also no affect. Finally, he sent us to get MRI. We both heard, because the X Ray didn't show the problems, he wanted to see if there's torn something. The MRI he ordered was supposed to be for the knee. Each visits take from 2 to 4 hours. It's been 5 visits, 2 x rays, 1 MRI to the back instead of knee (doctors screw up), another MRI needed. Each MRI is $60 out of pocket. It was his screw up so shouldn't he pay...? Also, he couldn't remember or have noted that he prescribed certain medication. The office people are not friendly or courteous. They said for us to bring the MRI disc or x rays so we did. On our appointment, they said that we failed to bring the report with the disc. Had they called prior to let us know, I didn't have to take a day off from work to go there. Also, I could've picked it up before going or something. read more

WARNING! DO NOT GO HERE!! The most unprofessional being (I do not want to call him a doctor) ever! I want to give him negative stars and maybe even report him to the board. My boyfriend has been coming to him for the past few months because of a fractured humerus. When he first saw my boyfriend's arm, he said "oh my god" for literally an hour and a half. Oh! Before that, expect to wait at least 2.5 hours even with an appt. Finally, after informing us of the possible side effects of the surgery (complete loss of movement from the hand down) the surgery date was set. Even though there were possible serious complications, this doctor did not properly explain the procedure of the surgery. He just kept saying he has to study it some more. Day of the surgery, we still are not sure of thr procedure but expect him to explain to us when we arrive at the hospital. We were suppose to get to the hospital by 10am and at 9:45, the doctor calls us to say that he can no longer do the surgery because the equipment he ordered was not there. Instead of postponing, he cancelled. Why did he drag us along this emotional roller coaster just to bail bc he was incompetent. He could have saved us time and copay (which was 70 dollars each visit and my bf went at least 5 times) by referring us to someone else. The cherry on top of the shiz sundae was when the doctor refused to pay the 45 dollar bloodwork bill my bf had from the office right next to this doctors. In Soo Kim is literally THE WORST. I hope my review helps those that truly are seeking skilled hands to service them or their loved ones. I have read every review here on Yelp concerning him and again hope my diligent open minded approach of researching each review and those peoples tendancies when they write reviews will assist others in determining if they want to proceed with him. Please dont take my words as rude towards others. I believe the majority, over 80 percent of these reviews are completely misplaced and have nothing to do with the blood covered skilled hands that will be inside you or your loved ones. First his office staff sucks. That is prominent in most Doctor offices of today due to complacent workforce and inadequate interest in going above and beyond for anyone but themselves. I have been a home care nurse for over 3 years now and am disgusted by the horrible behaviour of office staff. Not just his but literally every office we have visited have more bad apples than good ones. Rest assured these uneducated, entitled space cadets won't be taking a scalpel to you or your loved ones so do your own diligence and make sure everything is being done correctly in scheduling and followup. These office people are not your babysitter. Write down your appointment or demand your appointment written on a card. Now don't whine if they don't call you the day before. Grow up and take responsibility. They are not your babysitter so keep a calender and keep your appointment. I have about 5 more points I could make concerning these reviews you see here but I am not interested in beating this subject into the ground. The front office in any doctors office is not your personal life guide or private valet and babysitter. We pass people everyday that simply dont have their crap together. Unfortunately the health care industry front office staff are kings and queens of disfunction. The take away is they simply are not Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim is the one doing your surgery or evaluation and he is direct and no nonsense. His English is better than most any person working the counter of a fast food joint or a retail store. You can clearly understand him because he is direct and to the point and he does not use a single flowery word to massage your need to feel good about yourself or the way you are being spoken to. Again, he is direct and to the point and he could care less if your insurance will have a problem covering something he says you need. Its not his job or training to teach you the ways of insurance company denials. Figure it out. Google insurance problems, ask a friend or ask a homeless guy on a street corner but don't ask Dr. Kim. None of that is his specialty or his calling. What is his specialty is elbow deep inside your body piecing back together a tramatic injury. He excells at that. Call random hospitals and ask the nurse administrators what orthopedic surgeon they have found is consistent in getting positive results. The 3 I enquired of all stated his name within the top 5 with one of them stating he was the best they had seen as far as success rate. This one even said it was sad he was not closer to their hospital because if they could have him do all their orthopedic surgery they would. So, whats more important here. The fact that his office is not good at changing your diaper and wiping your snotty nose or the fact that his skilled hands lead you to much better results bringing you or your loved one closer to walking again or bending elbow or whatever ails you? I have no connection or reason to give him good praise other than the fact that one of my patients that hasnt walked in over two years just walked into room and told me she is headed out to start riding horses again. That's what matters most and the reviews here are based more on an emotional experience and a misplaced sense that every person in his office needs to be saints and child care (for adults) professionals otherwise they will post a whining review that has nothing to do with you or loved one functioning normal again. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!!!!! I cannot begin to tell you the horror stories I have with, not only this "doctor", but his incompetent and uncaring staff. I am filing a formal complaint with the BBB. The only reason I ended up with this surgeon is because I was in an emergency situation. I never would have gone to him after seeing his reviews. He gave me 1 minute of un-educating facetime before my surgery. I heard him complaining about how stressful his job is while I was in pre-op (surgery was an hour + late). He neglected to do promised follow up on me for 4 days as I sit and wait in pain in the hospital. I complained, so he tried to discharge me over the phone without even checking on me. I insisted he see me, as promised, and he berated me for not remembering a conversation we supposedly had while I was under anesthesia and fresh off the operating table. His staff screwed up my insurance information and tried to deny it, only to find out I was correct. NOW they are trying to say that I am responsible for using one of their wheelchairs within their own building (which we were given permission to do). Apparently they lost it and want me to pay for it. I will not be responsible for their incompetence, especially after being informed by me calling you several weeks later. I've cancelled all subsequent appointments. I will NEVER set foot in their office of horrors again! read more

I m suffering from a huge back pain . It s been 5months I am with Dr Kim and didn t get any better. He doesn t really listen to you he only comes for 5min to see you and run away. He gave me twice injections for my back. Saying that it was a sprain that I have in my back. I went back to him today for my routine control to see if it gets any better . When I told him not he just replied " strange , it should have worked . I don t know" then I told him that the pain get worst when I m nervous so he didn t hesitate to transfer me to a brain doctor like his job is finished . I asked what I do if nothing is wrong with my brain ? Do I come back? I been told that if nothing is wrong with my brain then it is fine . Everything is fine . (I would put ZERO stars if I could) The only reason why I came here because i was referred by my Dr. I don't recommend anyone here. The waiting is always long. I constantly had to be rescheduled. The Bulldog in the front was always disrespectful, unprofessional and completely stuck up. All the employees for that matter. Aside from the unprofessional environment the Dr was just as bad. He wasn't communicative, I never felt like he had the answers and was always up in the air. In a Dr I want to feel secure, safe and I want to feel free to ask away and I didn't get that here. Right after my surgery I was in severe pain and was expecting him to be there to walk me through how the procedure went etc. But instead no one had any idea where he was and the nurses there couldn't give me any pain medication without his permission. Worst hours of my life. Not till hours later he finally answers. Again this showed me his lack of communication and his lack of caring for his patients. After he did surgery on my leg I felt as if he felt his job was done. He didn't care about my well being during recovery. I came to find out after I left this place for good that I needed intense physical therapy that he never mentioned I would need. I ended up with nerve damage on my toe when my fracture was on my leg/ankle. Again I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO MY WORST ENEMY. Hope this review helps another person. read more

Went to their office today for a second opionion. It was the worse experience I have ever encountered. The office staff didn't even acknowledge me when I was standing at the counter, they didn't even say hello or good morning, nor did they ever look at me. They just went about their business, and ignored me like I wasn't there. I asked them if they wanted me to fill out the new patient information sheet that was on the counter they just ignored me, and the receptionist was sitting right in front of me. After asking them 3 times a lady behind the counter rudely said I don't know you'll just have to wait. The receptionist then asked me for my authorizaton and my medical card. I then asked her if they received a faxed copy of the authorizaton? She said she didn't know she would have to look at mine before she can look to see if they have it. After I gave her my authorization she then went through a folder and said ok we have it. Then she looked at the code on the authorization and asked me what I was there for? I said both knees and shoulder. She said they can only see me for 1 thing. She said she didn't know what the authorization code was. I asked her to call the insurance company to verifiy the code. She said that's not her job. She then called her office manager and asked her if she knew what the code was and the office manager didn't even know what it was. I told the office manager to call the insurance compeny to verify the code, and if it was wrong they could fax over another one. She said that it's not their job and that I should of have had everything in order before coming to their office. I then started to call the insurance company from my cell phone while standing at the counter the office manager then handed back my authorization and said well, maybe your doctor should send you to someone else. I was shocked. I said excuse me? The office manager said, I suggest you have your doctor send you to someone else. I could believe it, she was so rude. I then proceeded to call the insurance company myself while standing at the counter and the office manager rudely said, have a seat. Before I could even turn around to go sit down the office manager raised her voice at me and said MAM!!, I SAID GO HAVE A SEAT!!! I was completely shocked and looked at her and said you don't have to be so rude. I then asked her what her name was? She gave me her name, walked away and gave me a dirty look and went about her business. I then walked out of the office. I will never go back to them again and I don't recommend this office to any one. The entire staff is disrespectful, rude and unprofessional. My dad said there was another new patient behind me when all this was going on and she saw how I was being treated by the stafff and she turned around and walked out. read more

The worst doctor ever. He does not listen to what patients say. He does not have the compassion and the care that patients deserve. I did not even hear the usual but relevant "how are you doing today?" question from this doctor. He went straight up and read the x-ray results, did some scribbling and went on to schedule the next appointment. You feel more like a commodity than a human being talking to this doctor. I guess he was more concerned about the $$$ than anything else. The wait time is horrible. I checked in for my appointment on time and was seen two and a half hours later. This is unacceptable especially if the patient is old and has pain from time to time. I share the same sentiment with the staff. They seem to not like what they are doing, or the least know what they are doing. They are rude and do not care if the patients are comfortable or not. One of the staff was very disrespectful when he asked a patient to move from where he was sitting. The tone of voice and the timing was really bad. Okayyy, here we go!!! I was referred to the um what should I call him. Won't call him a Dr., specialist ect, this over my long life thus far I have not ever witnessed such displeasure fr. A dr.s visit. 12/20/2013 was my 1st visit, didn't especially felt comfortable with him, he was cold, short, callus with this consultation. Gave him my X-rays tried to explain why I'm here. For 6 mos. I started to have lots of pain in my tibia both legs, cont to work they progressively gotten worse. The pain started to travel upwards to both knees. The real concern came in as I work on my feet 8- 9 hrs out of my work day. He won't give me any anti- inflammatory meds nothing he was going to write a note for time off I declined with this being a busy season for us and, my coworkers really needed me. Cont to work anyway. Along with that I developed another medical Emergency and had to go to ER 12/27. My visit today 1/10/2014 was so upsetting. When he walk in I greeted him n said Happy New Year no response. Wow!!!!he than sat down n said which knee did u fall down onI said I did not fall down. As, I proceeded to give him a quick overview about my condition, he cut me off, talked about other patients, mine is not serious enuff,won't write a take off work slip ( mind u he was going to do that 3wks ago)disregard my words what I'm FEELING, I told him this is me n my body I know what I'm feeling. Can u plz stop talking about other people. At the end if it all I told him I will not b coming back, I will seek out another ortho, thanks but no thanks!!!! He gave me a steroid injection, and told me it will raise ur blood pressure n glucose level, that's what I went to the ER for on the27th. When I went to explain I don't think that was a good idea, once again he rolled his eyes to the ceiling. My daughter was with me(all she can say was omg) the asst. also was looking with eyes wide.... Putting all this in a ball of wax... This guy to claim a professional really should b out of practice. Dr. Kim is a failure as a surgeon. He did a total hip replacement on my left hip. He runs around telling everyone they are stupid. I have had complecation from day one. He was well aware of my post opp problems. Had to beg him to give me a shot in my groin area due to an impenged tendon. I now have siatia problems , impenged tendon in the groin, pain from my hip all down my leg to my ankle and a 3/4 inch leg descrepency, very painful he gave me the shot and handed me a business card for a specialist for total hip revision and told me how stupid I was and never call him again. Unprofessional narssasist , no one should ever consider a consultation with this terrible surgeon. read more

Do not go to this office. My husband ripped something in his knee and was referred to this orthopedic surgeon from his primary doctor. When he called to make an appointment he was asked why he felt he needed to see this doctor. He explained his problem and then was put on hold for 15 minutes. He ended up hanging up and calling back to have to explain his whole problem all over again, no apology for keeping him on hold so long and this time was told after they asked what insurance he had that they don't take that insurance even thought the insurance approved him to see this doctor. He called back his primary doctor and was advised to call this ortho doctor back and tell them it was approved by the insurance. My husband called back explained everything all over again and this time put on hold for 30 minutes and then told first available appointment was Dec. 3, knowing he is in extreme pain and can't walk. I have been to this doctor before, if that's what you want to call him. It was the worst experience with an M.D. I have ever had! While I was in the waiting room I heard some lady screaming in pain. And then I heard someone yell "Shut Up". I could not believe what I was hearing. Then I saw Dr. Kim walk out of that room where that lady was screaming blooding murder. He then walked into my room where I was waiting. He looked at me like I just called his mother a bad name. He then looked at the MRA results for a total of about 10 seconds. No kidding. He then said that that operation would be too hard to do and if I choose to do it would probably be unsuccessful because to try to fix it, it would be too hard to see what he was doing because it would be too bloody in there and he might cut a nerve. And then I would lose all function of my arm. Now I am about ready to freak out thinking I'm going to lose my right arm. Oh didn't I mention I was there for a rotator cup repair. So then I asked him. Well what am I supposed to do? I'm right handed. And I need my need my arm. He then just coldly said " plenty of people live life just fine with one arm". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I walked out of his office in shock thinking my life was over. Well after suffering from a bout of depression for the next two months thinking on how I am going to live the rest of life with only one arm. It hit me. Just ask my primary care provider if I can get a second opinion. Which I did not think that I would be allowed to with my insurance. Medicare. Well, he felt so sorry for me he pushed it through. Thank God!!! I got a second chance at life. I was referred to this great surgeon named Michael Bahk, M.D. He repaired my arm and it is still doing great today. Bad news though is now I dislocated my left shoulder and I was referred to Dr. Kim again. Well I am not ready to live with one arm, so going to ask my primary care provider to recommend someone else. Anyone else. Wish me luck. Say a prayer. I know that I'm going too. I know the obvious answer to my problem is to ask for Dr. Micheal Bahk. Believe me that was the first thing I thought about when I opened the letter with the referral to Dr. Kim. Unfortunately he office advised me that he was no longer contracted with my insurance. read more

The only reason I'm giving this doctor one star is because I cannot give him ZERO! I guess he overbooked patients for the day because his office staff made me wait over two hours to see the doctor. I had an appointment at 12pm and didnt get in until past 2! Not to mention, the first time I went to see this doctor, I showed up and he was out for the day. The receptionists never called to notify me and reschedule my appointment. I live over 40 minutes away and drove all the way down there for nothing! The receptionists are so rude and inconsiderate and do not treat their patients well. Never going back here! read more

This was the worst Dr. I have ever met. No bed side manner. Very rude/cold. Never smiled or made eye contact. Waited 3 hours to see him. The office didn't know where he was. I said really, don't you work for him??? When he finally came in the room, it took him 20 minutes to read my file that I had brought. I tried to talk and explain about my shoulder and he told me basically to be quite. After he read my paperwork and saw the MRI, he wanted to treat me with anti-inflammatory medication which I told him I didn't want to take. He then said he was worried about be - I was like what? Looking at the reviews Dr. Kim has received, a lot of them seem to focus on pain, etc. As a former patient for an injury to my right knee, I can say that he's definitely as blunt as it gets, but I really do appreciate that honesty. I asked about potential pain reduction and he recommended against it due to the fact that dulling the pain might cause me to accidentally do more damage to my knee. I spent a while trying to rest as often as I could along with his advice and a brace. At the end of that painful month or so, I'm happy to say that I have more range of motion in that knee than i've experienced previously. It feels springy rather than sore all the time. The best part is, I didn't use any pain medication, which seems to be incredibly addictive based on the current opiate crisis. As a student, I applaud Dr. Kim. for his professionalism in terms of caring for the patients well being, despite the way his observations might be blunt or negative. read more

GREAT DOCTOR!!! I guess each and every person has their own point of view for Doctor Insoo Kim. And it very unfortunate for the few who have bad experiences with this doctor however in my perspective Dr. Insoo Kim is one of the best doctors out there. I was not the patient but my grandfather was. My grandfather was seen at the hospital where he was told he has a fractured clavicle. He was told to follow up with an Orthopedic so we called to make an appointment to see this doctor. They accommodated him so that he was able to be seen asap because of his fracture. And he definitley was scheduled as soon as possible. As doctor kim examined my grandfather, he told us that he not only had a fractured shoulder but he had 4 broken ribs as well. ( which is something the hospital could not find themselves). I honestly did not think my grandfather would heal as soon as he did but after seeing this doctor he is feeling so much better. He took great care of him. If it weren't for Dr. Insoo Kim I don't know what we could have stumbled upon. I am very greatful and appreciate the doctors services to my grandpa and give him two thumbs up!! read more
