Kim is fantastic! After a disastrous experience at Ulta, I came to Yelp in search of somewhere to get a haircut. Trouble was, many places in Marin are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Thank goodness I found Kim on here! I was worried she'd be all booked up on Sunday but I messaged her hoping we could get squeezed in. I got a response in less than an hour! She was able to fit us both in. I'm picky with my hair. I love my length so I really only like to get the split ends trimmed and some layers added to freshen it up. Often I leave salons with less hair than I had hoped, but she knew exactly what I wanted and cut it perfectly! On top of that, she is very friendly. :) She even gave me tips on how to get my stick straight hair to curl. I've not yet had time to try it, but I'm saving those tips for the next time I attempt it. I have finally found a place I like in Marin. I will return here again when it's time for another cut. read more

I had a series of bad hair cuts (not just aesthetically, but structurally bad) from other shops in Marin as I was looking for a new stylist. For each one, I had to wait for it to grow out, then start again. I'll admit, my hair requires skillz-- it's crazy thick so washing and cutting takes 3X as long. It's part curly, part straight, and altogether doesn't dry the way most stylist expect it to. When I landed in Kim's chair, she immediately recognized what needed to be done. She got the "engineering" of it all. She put to words some of the things I'd been trying to explain for decades. I relaxed. She cut. Like cartoon birds to a Disney princess, I ended up with the head of hair I always wanted. read more

Just had haircut with kim for my very long hair. She got rid of all damage hair and still kept my hair same length. I don't know how she did it but she was like a magician. I had a lotto damage ends and wanted to keep the length. She also spent a lot of time on my hair. She went into detail and went through my hair several times. She has a kind demeanor and used relaxing shampoo and washed my scalp really well. Thanks kim. I will make more appointments with her. Definitely recommend if you have long hair and scared that someone might mess it up but kim did great! read more

I found Kim when I was randomly looking for a haircut on a Monday. I had been putting it off after my regular stylist moved away. Then the day came when I was sick of my hair (we've all experienced this!). I spoke to Kim on the phone and she was extremely accommodating, getting me in that day. My cut turned out GREAT! I have long hair with layers and have always been picky about my cuts (I've ended up with layers that look like a shelf and I've had other people thin them out so much that they looked stringy). Kim listened, focused and gave me exactly what I asked for! I am so happy with my hair and will absolutely be seeing Kim again. Beware! I was a new client and got the worst haircut of my life, and I've been getting my hair cut for over 40 years. Kim gave me an incredibly uneven cut--she was cutting quickly and randomly on one side of my head and trimmed very little on the other side. The result was atrocious, and for this I was charged $40. I found Kim on Yelp and with 9 perfect reviews, I was hoping for the best. I wasn't disappointed. After just a few sentences, I was confident she knew what I wanted. This is one of the best cuts I've ever had! And while the fee is higher than I'm used to, it appears to be modest for this upscale area. Besides, perfection is cheap at any price. She is a miracle worker. She was able to rescue this poorly executed cut and completely transform it into something cute and flattering...and, to be honest, there wasn't all that much hair to work with! Kim is amazing.
