Kimberly & Todd groomed my Golden Retriever and they did the BEST job ever! I have taken him to several other groomers in Redding, and was always disappointed that he still had that "wet dog" smell afterwards no matter who groomed him. I called Kimberlys hoping to get a last minute appointment (wasn't holding my breath as it's foxtail season) and lucky me! She was able to squeeze me in between appointments. I only needed to have my dogs feet, toes and legs trimmed up to help with the foxtail battle. I offered to wash him before hand to make it easier and planned to stay to wrestle him down (he's young and had never been to a groomer before). While we were there she offered to do his nails and continue the shave to his whole body. Of course since she offered I took it! Groomers are great. Location is a problem. There is an Asian massage place next door. The two share a tiny parking lot with 4 parking spots. Every time I drop off/pick up my dog the owner of the massage place comes out and actually screams at me - a few inches from my face - about which of the 4 spots I parked in. Last time, I had my daughter with me and it scared her because the lady was making threats about calling the police, sending me to jail, etc. We continued walking and didn't engage with her but when we came out she had blocked my car in with a couple of dumpsters so I couldn't move it. read more

I was recommended by my totally OCD friend who said it changed her dog and their lives. I knew they would be good. My BFF was going through a horrid time...we all had covid, her mother got it and passed after 3 days. Then my friend began having the same symptoms. I was terrified!! We were over covid, but she has asthma, major breathing issues, 92% oxygen, and a fever. She has 5 dogs and a cat, they shed constantly, I knew this could not be good for her! They are Amazing and helped me take care of my friend by getting her 3 dogs in...the old, cancerous, blind, dog that had feces all over her, a mastiff & pyrenees /St Bernard puppy. She whined all the way to the shop, not a peep on the way home... I was completely shocked at how happy and relaxed she was! They are kind, personable, professional and true dog whisperers! We like this place. We really, really like this place. It is extremely difficult to find good customer service these days; regardless of the type of business. Sometimes I think people have just quit caring about anything and some folks are just plain rude. This place is great. Never really needed a dog groomer before but, we need one now. Kimberly's has groomed our dog three times now and the service is just as good now as it was when we started. She is nice. The place is clean. She answers the phone. Our dog isn't afraid of the place. She tells you exactly how long she is going to need and is done when that time is up. The little guy looks like a million bucks when we pick him up. A mixed-breed mutt terrier slash whatever jumped the fence kind of dog looks like the canine equivalent of James Bond when we pick him up. Like Sean Connery in Dr. No; after a few days...more like Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day. One great looking guy. Prices are fair and absolutely reasonable, not too expensive; but I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". Took my dog to Kimberlys because my groomer couldn't get her in. Won't ever take her there again. I told them she was more than 16, has cataracts, is deaf and has no teeth. I also told them to leave her ears and tail. "Sarah" said Bugsy was hard to groom and that's why she looked so bad. I was in shock. Not only had she completely sheared her ears, it looked like they cut her with scissors through her whole body. Charged $50 and I had given a healthy tip. I took our Giant Schnauzer to Kimberly's today for the 3rd time, it was ERIKA who had been grooming our dog. Today when I dropped off our dog, the agreement was "Just like Before!" When I picked up our dog she was charging me $200 !!! The first time we brought our dog she charged I think 110 which my husband gave tip of $20, the second time because I asked to do the nails she charged $125 plus I gave tip but I can't remember how much. This 3rd time she was charging $200 and said our dog was punching her and to find a male groomer for him, then she said "I could take $160!" I did give it and turned my back and will never bring back our dog again! What do you call this kind of business practice? I have a 5 1/2 year old Australian Shep. He has had one groomer for those 5 years, and she is no longer available. I was very concerned. At Kimberly's, Erica was assigned to clean up Gabe. I asked her to trim up his hind fetters, and dremel his nails. I told her we kind of like his curly ear ringlets, but they could be trimmed. I asked her to do a sanitary clip on his tummy. And, I told Erica that he stresses on all that brushing of undercoat, so let him rest if necessary and take her time. I also wasn't sure if he was a bit skunky... and my girlfriend assured me that he was, so took in a bottle of "deskunk" wash along with his dry kibble to give him as treats. Gabe will do just about anything for goodies. When I picked him up, he didn't seem anything but totally happy, giving Erica kisses. He was brushed out wonderfully. This dog has got an undercoat that is unbelievable! She said, "I could have worked longer, so much fur"... but his fur layed down well, was silky and all his feathers were trimmed up a little, a very nice overall look of care. The nails were smooth, and his rear end shorter but still good coverage. I felt she knew how an Aussie should look and that is just what I got. No complaints, a lot less anxious next time... Thank you Erica, it's tough finding a new groomer when you have relied so strongly and without worries... and you filled her shoes well... See you soon. read more

My Siberian, Mac, had his first Redding grooming today at Kimberly's. Todd and Kim are beyond wonderful! Mac was beautiful and exhausted when he got home. This will be his first summer in Redding so there is a lot of shedding ahead. We will be back to see Kim and Todd regularly. I arrived while they were finishing up brushing Mac and the invited me to come see him. It was a great team effort! Kim was brushing and Todd was holding Mac and keeping him happy. My pugs fight nail clips like tigers, but both Kim and Todd join forces to get the job done as stresslessly (for the pugs) as possible. Todd holds and sweet-talks while Kim does the deed -- and far more efficiently and faster than anywhere else! Not only is this terrific team extremely kind and gentle (a major feat with a writhing --and in certain cases, I'm ashamed to admit, BITING pug in your hands!--they Dremel the nails very carefully after clipping so the quick is exposed (without bleeding) and recedes, so the nails grow slower. Anyone who knows pugs will know how amazing this accomplishment is: Pugs' claws grow curling under, and though they're usually very sweet tempered animals, when it comes to their paws, they turn into savages in a second: they HATE having their paws even touched. It's a weird breed thing, vets and groomers have told me. Todd admitted that my pugs are a tougher clients than some pit bulls -- yet he and Kim are incredibly effective while being incredibly gentle. And even though they still hate having their claws clipped, my pugs love Kim and Todd (not only because of the treats, I am certain Todd's sweet-talking has something to do with it too). I wash the pugs myself, but have also had my porkie groomed there, and she looked utterly adorable! A+++++ for above-&-beyond service! We are so thankful for Kimberly's Grooming. We have been bringing our Bernese to them for the last year to have his nails trimmed and paw pads trimmed up. Our dog would not let anyone near his nails when we first brought him here and would thrash about and have a panic attack- it took about 4 people to finish the job the first couple of visits. Every time we came back, he did a little better and now only requires 1 person to hold him and does so much better. If you are looking for a groomer Kimberly's is the best groomer in town. I have been taking my dogs to Kim and Todd for 10 years. They have always been accommodating to my crazy work schedule I never have to tell them what I want them to do because I trust that they ALWAYS do a great job. My mother passed away recently and her 2 dogs have been a little traumatized by her loss. I needed to get the 2 in be groomed. I called Kim and told her about the two dogs. One is 11 partially blind and hard of hearing I asked if she would be able to take them, without hesitation she scheduled the appt. . My husband took them in At first the old guy was shaking and scared but when I picked them up...they were both happy waiting for treats and looking amazing. We recently adopted this roughly 5 yo Australian Cattle Dog with little or no History, a couple days after taking him to have all his shots and a good thorough health Check up we took him to Kimberly and Todd to Give him a Mani Pedi and Teeth Cleaning. This could have been traumatic for a dog that may or may not ever been to a groomer. Kimberly and Todd paid extra attention and gave him plenty of love.
