Super helpful. Jennifer at the El Dorado hills location is the best! Helped me rehab my back issue and build up my core strength.

Resonance PT is a life changer! I was diagnosed with…read morescoliosis as a preteen and grew up generally unbothered by it. Now in my mid-30s, I'd accumulated a few injuries from rock climbing, which resulted in chronic lower back and hip pain. I stopped all strenuous physical activity for fear of injury. My body became stiff and I began waking up with pain on a daily basis. I stopped wanting to get out of bed. I made excuses. My active lifestyle had completely stopped. I tried stretching and powering through the pain only to find myself in a cycle of reinjury and new lows. X-rays showed nothing of major concern, so I was convinced that there was no medical treatment and tried to accept this as my life. It was a dark time. Years later, after coming to terms with how much I missed being active, I decided to pursue physical therapy. My friend, knowing of my history of scoliosis and hypermobility, found Dr. Sandy at Resonance PT online. I reached out, scheduled a consultation call, and she immediately sounded certain that she could help. She even shares the same passion for rock climbing and dogs as me. After my first appointment, I could tell Dr. Sandy knew what she was doing. She did not make me feel bad for living with my pain for so many years. She assured me that working on my scoliosis would not only help with my pain from past injuries, but it would also set me up for strength and less injury risk in the future. After just three or four appointments, I was waking up without pain, walking without pain, and moving without pain. I even took a trip and flew on planes, which I used to dread due to the pain. While working with Dr. Sandy, I was asked to purchase some equipment and practice the recommended exercises at home. The exercises include breathing, strength and balance work. Dr. Sandy walked me through the Schroth method very thoroughly, over multiple appointments, and ultimately, I feel like I've learned the root concepts enough to apply them wherever/whenever I need to address any pain or discomfort. I saw Dr. Sandy twice a week for about 8 weeks and have been working on my at home exercise regimen for about a month. My pain has shifted from chronic to manageable, and I am confident that I have the tools necessary to eventually overcome it. I've been slowly getting back into rock climbing. Most importantly, I have hope again that I can resume the active lifestyle that I almost gave up on having. That is the biggest impact and I cannot thank Dr. Sandy enough for giving me that outlook. I highly recommend Resonance PT and Wellness for anyone, at any age, struggling with pain directly or indirectly related to scoliosis.

She is very creative, engaging, knowledgable and experienced in the art. I have learned new poses that help my body heal and in the process learned to relax. As a working mother this is a true luxury for me and her insight as to what her clients need is very important to her, which translates in classes that are not only nurturing but also empowering as well. She does not disappoint.

The physical therapist assigned to me was very knowlegeable and listened very well to all my aches and pains. Unfortunately, my rheumatologist only specified my knees, so there was where my PT concentrated on. I have been to therapy 3 times already (of an expected 6 treatment span). So far so good! My range of motion has improved, the pain is still nagging me a little, but I know it'll all get better with time! The place is very nice and clean. Inviting. And the staff are all above par. The treatment areas are all well-lit. And the exercise machines and other equipment are amply spaced...a lot of breathing room here. Even on their busy days, there is still a lot of room available for the patients and the staff. If you have the need for physical therapy and you insurance allows, Burger Physical Therapy is a great place to go!

She was very exacting and thorough in her explanations of what she was doing and what I needed to do on my own. I feel my recovery is a direct result if that . LOCATION: Tucked away is a small outlet near Elvas Ave a few blocks from the Mimosa House. DECOR: In a nice office/room inside a physical therapy clinic. Minimalistic and cozy. PRICE: About $100-$150 depending on each clients needs. STAFF: Ryan Caputi is the owner/operator and not only has he helped me with a physical disability obtained in the military and helped in a way any other treatments haven't, he has taught me so much more about diet and sleep just based on who he is as a person and how he loves his life. I really feel better physically and mentally by the time I leave. EXPERIENCE: Let me tell you about the day I nearly came to tears after I give you some context. I have been dealing with degenerative disc disease, arthritis, and spinal stenosis with most of the pain stemming from my lower back. It negatively effects my ability to hinge and rotate at the waist as well as my ability to participate in most sports. So first we work on my lower back. Ryan's touch is light. Too light for me. I'm thinking "this can't possibly do anything. Doesn't feel like he's deep enough," but I just went with it. Next, Ryan says he'll work on my psoas tendon which is usually cause for a lot of hip and lower back pain. In order to do this, he must go through my stomach. First off, hell no! I can't even set my own hand on my stomach when I'm laying down because it's so sensitive. But it's the only way. So here it goes. I breathe deeply and slowly to prepare for the discomfort, but there was none. He was literally pressing through by stomach and I didn't die. I was in disbelief. We finally finish with that portion and Ryan asks me to sit up when I'm ready and then stand up. I sit up and wait a minute like usual. Then I stand up and can't believe what just happened so I had to sit down and stand up again to make sure it wasn't a fluke. For the first time in almost 10 years I stood up WITHOUT ANY PAIN. To no exaggeration, I had to fight the tears back. The next day I had a spin class and could feel soreness in my muscles. The Rolfing had gotten much deeper than I thought. After the class my muscles felt great. After the class, everyone wanted a fitness photo. So I do the splits which I have been able to do for a while, but not without stretching beforehand. Not only that, when I jumped up (and yes. I do mean JUMPED UP) off the ground, I couldn't even form words. I was in a time warp envisioning my past physical trauma slipping away. Now, my psoas is still putting up a fight over time, but I finally know exactly what is causing the most pain and I feel more optimistic about the future of my physical health than ever before!

I have had the great pleasure of meeting Joy but also working with her over the course of 12 weeks…read more Now before I actually get into this review, I want to throw out a few disclaimers...Joy does NOT have a magic wand that will magically make your issues go away. Joy does NOT have the ability to do your work for you and lastly Joy does NOT by any means sell herself short on the services that she provides. Joy, you are an absolute god send. Seriously.... I have been thru various counseling all of my life but that didn't resolve my issues nor did it really give me the tools needed to actually resolve them. So since I had tried that previously and pretty much got the same result, I knew I had to try something different. So, what did I do? I went to my trusty yelp and reached out and received several responses. I had a few phone interviews because I needed to find the right person to help me thru some heavy stuff. I liked Joy right off the bat. You can simply tell by the tone in her voice that she is an angel. I signed up for 6 sessions with Joy...and after my 6th session, I signed up for 6 more. And I threw Joy some crazy challenges (nothing in my life has EVER been easy)....there were issues that she flat out told me she couldn't do anything about (I appreciate the honestly more than you know) and there were some issues where I really feel like I challenged her but guess what? SHE NEVER GAVE UP ON ME. SHE NEVER TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION (again she doesn't have a magic wand). Instead what I received was far far greater than any gift...Joy gave me the tools I needed to see where my deficiencies came from and also gave me some positive insight as to how to fix the behaviors and this is something I now work on EVERY SINGLE DAY and it's made me a better person. So if you feel like you are stuck, and don't know where to go, and you have tried traditional methods (and they haven't really worked) I would seriously urge you to give Joy a call...set up and appointment and more importantly work on your (O&*%(Q*&)%(. Joy, thank you again for everything. I'll be back after tax season and I've already started a list of things to work on when I return to your place...oh and Mr. Meowghee says hello!
