What??!! This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in in my entire 50-year-old life!…read more We have been coming to New Orleans a couple times a year from Southern California for about the last 10 years or so and I'm upset that no one even recommended this place!! We are here for the Essence Festival and I just so happen to be rapping to one of the security officers at the convention center, and she recommended this place. I want to go back & give her the biggest hug and kiss on the cheek! It is ridiculous how flavorful everything was! Just didn't make any sense! Lol lol I've sent this location to everyone I know that travels to New Orleans. The price is great, and the portions are very healthy! This restaurant in California would be almost double what your bill is going to be. There was three people at the table & we ordered four appetizers..... (which was all we really needed)... and everyone agreed 1 out of 10, they gave it a 10!! this restaurant is a must to try when visiting or even if you live in the city! So much good food to eat, but this is by far the best restaurant I've ever been to in New Orleans!

The service was nice. The inside was very tight and small spaced. The decor was still nice. It gave off a mom & pop/home style aesthetic. We ordered the Crawfish Beignet ($20.00) as our appetizer. I got their Rosemary Chicken with a side of Potato Salad & Sweet Potato Fries ($22.00). My friends got their Shrimp Bucktown Alfredo ($24.00) & Swamp Fries with Debris Gravy ($13.00). The food was okay, in my opinion, but it was nothing too special for the price. My friend said the Alfredo was a bit salty. The chicken I had was good. I was a bit disappointed with the Crawfish Beignet because the texture was hard, as I had expected it to have a soft beignet-like texture to it. Overall, it's a decent spot, but a bit overpriced for the quality.

I got the Bub burgers with fries, and my order was ready in less than 10 minutes, which was perfect for a quick lunch break. I pulled up on a Sunday and since I called it in just under an hour before closing, I decided to get it to go. I ordered it about twenty minutes out and when I arrived, it was ready. The takeout process was in itself unique. I pulled up to what they called a "yellow tollbooth) to pay. He called on his radio that I paid and I pulled up to a covered door and they handed off my food. The overall ambiance from outside looked cool enough. Next time, I will eat it there, but I just did not want to be inconsiderate to everyone getting out on time. I found a local park and tore into my food. I went with the large surf and turf po' boy (roast beef and shrimp) and found it very good. For the price point, out the door with taxes, it was just over twenty dollars. The ambiance of this place was the best part of the experience - the Vessel is located in an old church building. I loved the vibes and it felt both classy and casual at the same time. Afterwards, I had the seafood pasta and it was great - appropriate balance of the pasta and seafood. We ended with the creme brule and it was perfect - it had the right amount of crunchiness at the top and was soft as soon as you broke into it. Overall, I had a great experience here and hope to try this place out for brunch in the future!
