Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms and a stunning view of the water and high rises are a must! Deep deep tubs to dissolve the day away. Food at the bar is not that great, bartenders not that great either. They do not disclose that there is an automatic 18% gratuity added so we were drinking and did not read and gave additional tip. Normally I would not mind but these bartenders were not that great and the drinks not that great. Valet charges $48 dollars a day on top of the tip. Very expensive hotel but it is beautiful. Love love love this hotel so much! It's our first time in Miami and we decided to stay here for 1 night (our last night). The views are amazing and the room are spacious. We opted for the 1 King Bed (Water View High Floor), which was booked through our Chase travel portal. Check in went smooth and they were able to give us the room way earlier than expected. I love how check out is at 12 pm too and you can also request late check out if your an IGH member. The staff is super accommodating and friendly here. Not a 5-Star anything The room is so dim. There's insufficient lighting. The mattress had only a sheet over it. 5-star hotels have a mattress protector, a mattress pad, a topper, etc... The button to flush the toilet had green rust on it. The light in the bathroom was coming apart. I was working on a conference call with the "privacy" indicator light on. The cleaning woman just WALKS IN on me. She can't speak English. She refused to leave. I kept saying "no". She insisted that I wanted my room cleaned. Meanwhile, I'm still on my call!!! This was crazy. "Privacy" means do not enter. The location is great & the front desk texts you so you don't need to call or go, but for the money, stay somewhere else. read more

On our driving trip to Key West, we decided to spend a night in Miami to break up the drive. This Kimpton Epic had a location right in Downtown which is why we chose it. The lobby is spacious and beautiful. The staff was friendly and our room was very nice. Beware there's a huge opening between the bedroom and the bathroom which may make it odd for "friends", or even odd for a middle of the night bathroom break. There was a balcony which overlooked the water and the cool buildings like a scene out of CSI Miami. The Valet was an absolute Cluster! It's so backed up that you literally just sit at the light waiting to get in. There's barely any room in the tiny circle turn around spot between the entrance and the new hotel going up next door. There is plenty of stuff within walking distance but we didn't partake as we basically checked in, went out to eat (drove), and came back and headed out early the next morning. Of all the Kimpton's we've stayed out, the room was the largest and nicest as Kimpton's typically overtake an older hotel as a boutique style. read more

My 2nd time staying here was a wonderful as the first. Same time one year apart. I think I have a new tradtion. I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. I enjoyed returning to a freshly made bed and fresh towels each day. I enjoyed the happy hour, the afterdark vibe on the 16th floor, the views, the morning coffee, the refreshing lemon water upon returning from the heat. I enjoyed the watching the river and the boats passing by. I enjoyed the convenience of the location. I enjoyed being greeting each morning as I exited the building. I enjoyed the late checkout time. It was POURING when I got there and there was a long queue to get the car parked bc I don't think I saw a self-park option. I was in room 2729. It was a great room. That is the majority of the four star rating. i loved the bathtub. It was a great soaker tub and it had a view into the room which I respect. There was free wine in the evening which was great. The hotel had a lot of bro types so i avoided them. the parking was very expensive as was breakfast, so i ordered extra dinner from doordash the night before. Arriving to Epic, there were all types of luxury cars and liveliness in the front of the hotel. Yet, the luggage attendant did not skip a beat as they opened our doors, grabbed our luggage and escorted us to the front desk. We arrived a few hours prior to check in and the very friendly front desk gave us hotel access, tagged and stored our bags while he gave us information on the hot spots of the hotel. We waited no more than 15 minutes before I received a text saying the room was ready. We came here to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary and Valentine's Day in which Epic definitely made EPIC! The General Manager Ericka and her team made sure that our celebration and stay here was nothing less than perfect. We were not only upgraded to the Presidential Suite (which was EPIC, thank you!) but also greeted with a bottle of champagne, the cherry on top was our photo was printed and framed. The Presidential Suite was nothing short of amazing with 3 balconies, a full living room, massive bedroom and incredible bathroom with a massage jet tub just sitting in the middle of it all! The views left us speechless of both the city and the marina. We could literally just spend the day on the balcony watching the yachts go by. The social hour with champagne in the lobby was well executed even with COVID as everyone spaced out throughout the large lobby. It's nice that Epic provides this to their guests! The staff was great with anything we needed they were just a phone call away and did not take long at all to deliver it to our room. The pool we didn't use much but it's a pretty cool spot and it's heated! Overall, we would continue to go back to Epic and love the proximity it had to some other spots we wanted to check out. There're things good about it and there were things bad about it Cleanliness: 3/5 I've seen stained towels multiple times and glasses are not cleaned. Location: 5/5 It's super close to the water, very walkable area. For people who don't have a car in Miami, it's super accessible. Food: 2/5 We had a lot of catered food from the hotel and I have to say, I had some of the driest chickens in my life at this hotel. It was the item on the menu every day. Very expensive and the service is sub-par Paid $22 for 6 over- sauced chicken wings and a $20 salad that was quite small by the pool. I worked in food service and hospitality for over 20 years and have substantial knowledge about food cost.. anyway We were grazing on the food and the busser came and bussed our food without even asking if we were done. Almost half of this super expensive salad and 3 wings left. He should have asked if we were done before just grabbing it all and dumping it. We had also rented a suite there for 2 nights and a cabana. Spending close to $5000.00, brought down a beer from our room downstairs to pool and was quickly reprimanded by our pool server about that. Meanwhile, any time we needed someone around to order, they were not available. Overall disappointed with the experience I had here despite the profits they made from us. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay on this trip to Miami. The hotel is beautiful! Very modern and chic and the grounds are well kept. Our room was great with a view overlooking the Miami River, the staff was excellent, and it's a perfect location. Downtown has a lot of hustle and bustle, but the hotel was a nice retreat. Unless we had the sliding door open, it was reasonably quiet and a good place to rest which was my main priority for this trip. We had a room with a king bed and it was very spacious. There were two rooftop pools and a bar (great cocktails!) on the same level with access to the hotel restaurant (the food was pretty decent for a hotel, tbh). The pool area was so pretty with lots of seating and private cabanas available for renting. I will say I thought it was odd that the pool closed so early (around 7 every night), but I realized later that it's not just a hotel, but also has residences attached so maybe that had something to do with it. There's also a 24 hour fitness center, a cigar bar/watch shop/spirit bar and a Japanese restaurant as well, though we didn't go to the last two. The hotel sits right on the water, so there's a dock for those who are super fancy and what to either arrive by boat or go out on the water during their stay. One of the best parts about this hotel is the location, it was within walking distance of several eateries and shops. It was nice to be able to just walk out of the hotel and explore and not have to drive or take an Uber to find something to do or eat. Speaking of transportation, parking is somewhere in the ballpark of $40-50 a day, so if you don't have to bring a car, I wouldn't. It was always very easy to get a ride share and, as I mentioned, within walking distance of lots of businesses. I'd absolutely stay here again. read more

The entrance both from a pedestrian and vehicle point of view is a bit of a nightmare, but perhaps you came by boat instead! (They have some docking space). Mainly have come through here to visit Zumba, Area 31 or visiting a friend that stays here once and a while. It's both a hotel and a residency with split entrances. The hotel lobby is modern and well maintained. Prices here are in the high end / luxury category. Oof. This hotel is (was) my pre/post cruise default. It's Ultra Music Festival Weekend (cool). Food here is good. Staff are excellent for the most part. But, dear god, the pool party they've had going on today is ridiculous. I'm on the 30th floor, and the pool is on the 16th. I can keep beat with the music by watching the ripples in my toilet (not exaggerating). The TV is vibrating itself to death on the wall approaching 11PM. Look, I'm not the "GET OFF MY LAWN" old guy, but this is stupid. Also, the one exception to a good staff experience is the dickhead working the door to even go out to the pool as a hotel guest. I can see why this hotel was luxury a few years ago but coming back in 2022 it's charm has started to fade in my opinion. It's definitely overly crowded and valet was a bit chaotic, there was construction in the building next door creating a bottleneck of cars waiting to just go into the location every day. It was about a 30 minute wait from the moment I ordered for the car, I would advise to give yourself ample time. Food and service was underwhelming which did not make the cost of the stay feel worthwhile. My family had a layover in Miami for 14 hours and we wanted to be able to use a good dayuse room for a decent price. This is where the Miami Kimpton Epic comes in. For its $129 price (exclusive of taxes and resort fee), you can't beat it. Check in starts at 8am and you have until 7pm. The hotel is in a excellent prime location with numerous eateries and a mall all nearby. The check in experience was flawless and the bellman, Eduardo, was excellent at his job. As a former hotel employee, Eduardo checks all the marks in what you would want in a Forbes Five Star service bellman. He took all of our luggage up to the room and explained all the amenities of the room and hotel to us. He arranged to get us some bathroom amenities too. Perfection! The room was clean and nice. I loved having the outdoor balcony for fresh air. Great place to lay down and nap for couple hours. The only negative aspect about my experience hotel was the evening bellman. I made numerous trips from the lobby to my vehicle to store my bags and nobody offered any assistance, even though he was just standing at the door. Despite that, I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again. I loved my experience here and didn't have to pay full price for the Miami Kimpton Epic. read more

My 1st time here and I loved it big time. Pricing: Whoahhhh pricing. Expensive is what I would say. For an average non celebrity nor instagram model the price here for me was extremely high . But per others deals are always out there, maybe I just missed them. Location: The location is ideal for those visiting Miami. Close to all the hot locations. It's centrally located in Biscayne, down the street from Bayside, South Beach is maybe 25 minutes or 30 minutes away, and Wynwood maybe 20 minutes away. Rooms: My room was pretty high up with a beautiful view. Thank goodness. The size is nice and set up nicely. The decor was beautiful. My room was clean except for a twix paper found under the bed I laughed it off since I only found it because I lost my shoe. It was so far back hence the reason I can see how housekeeping may have missed it. The beds sleep comfortably as well. The bathroom were luxurious which was my favorite place. Beautiful sinking tub and stand up shower and double vanity sink. The walls are a little thin because I definitely heard my neighbors a few times while there but nothing outrageous. Parking: please don't drive here. Parking was an additional $40.00 per night. For those who may not mind or need their car while here this is a FYI. The car is valet only and you have to call ahead or wait at least 10 to 15 minutes for it be brought to you each time. Uber or lyft is essential and always avaliable here which is cool. Pool & Amenties: I loved the pool. It's two pools here both so beautiful. Music is playing, restuarants are in the hotel as well so food and drinks are easily available. Pricing is normal as most luxury hotels drinks can range from $17 per drink on up. Overall my experience here was nice. I loved the area. I loved the look. The staff was very nice and attentive. The hotel is pretty and modern with all their amenities on one floor. The on-site food is good with pretty views from one of the restaurants. They offer free coffee in the morning as well as wine for happy hour each day as well. The room is good with a balcony, a few spots could have been cleaned better but overall still good! This hotel is the one to stay if you're on vacation, passing through, on a business, want to spend a romantic night with your partner. I enjoyed their bathtub and shower in the room where we stayed. That alone, I could have stayed a week to enjoy. They have a nice gym to exercise. My girlfriend enjoyed her spa day and was feeling fabulous. Moreover, I liked they had bathrobes to use should you prefer. I didn't have time to use the pool, but I will next time as the views are gorgeous as you enjoy a swim. Spectacularly beautiful hotel with stunningly bad logistics: it is located in the busiest area of downtown Miami, with a steep cul de sac entry drive that is a pandemonium of valets trying to check cars while the condo owners in the same building attempt to get into the parking deck. The official address in all GPS systems is actually the back side of the parking deck which faces Brickell Avenue. Uber and Lyft drivers get confused by the hotel seeking the status of the Brickell address but having the entry actually on a side street. The actual crowded cul de sac nightmare of an entrance is to the northeast of the street address on a very crowded side street. It can take 30 minutes just to get in or out of the driveway. Once inside the hotel itself is beautiful. The soaring lobby is filled with art and interesting unique shops. The setting couldn't be more stunning, facing directly out on the Miami River and Biscayne Bay. The yachts are at eye level from the lobby. The same lobby leads to the condominiums, which sell for $600k (1 bedroom with view of traffic) to $4 million (3 bedroom with water view). You can bet with the hotel rooms $300-400 and up a night, this is a VERY nicely appointed building, with very good staff. It is managed by Kimpton. The group of restaurants includes some of the best food in Miami. There is a pool deck about 15-20 stories up that is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. The flowers in the lobby change every day, with arrangements a couple of feet taller than me (and l'm 6'2"). This level of luxury is not cheap, and it sure is pretty. It would be perfect without the tough logistics to just get to the front door. read more

The only saving grace for this hotel is their location and the fact that Zuma restaurant resides here. My parents got a suite and I had a premier room. The suite was about $600/night and mine was about $400/night. I guess for that price in Downtown I shouldn't have expected much. We were off to a bad start the day we checked in. We arrived 2 hours after check-in and both of our rooms still weren't ready. Then everything pretty much went downhill from there after using the spa service and left super dissatisfied. read more

Oh man, this place was AWESOME!!! I stay in a lot of hotels for work and this was really above and beyond. The experience started when airline delays got us into Miami at (ugh) 4am. We came dragging into the hotel and the front desk clerk not only made us feel welcomed, but he gave us a free bottle of rose and some bottled water to make up for the airlines screwing up our night. Then, the lobby was gorgeous and the rooms were even better. And, then,.....THE POOL . The pool was such an event. They had a DJ at the pool. And drinks with umbrellas in coconuts. I mean, how much more Miami does it get? Every aspect of this place was well thought out. I mean, even the rooms smelled good when you came in. Two minor nits: 1) The weird "pass-thru window" between the bedroom and the bathroom. My girlfriends and I didn't want to watch each other bathe, TYVM, so the privacy curtain went down. 2) The pool closed too early! A little night swimming would have been just the thing. read more

Stayed at the Kimpton for 5 days. The location is perfect! The hotel itself and customer service is 10/10! Rooms were very nice, comfortable bed and exceptional view on the balcony! The reason I'm not putting a 5 star is because the the bathroom. It was very dark, hard to get ready for a woman putting on make up mostly. The rain shower head was low pressure and took forever to wash my hair. On top of that the walls are very thin, the people next to us were not only loud but we could hear their conversations as well as them coming in and out at all hours of the night. Jen at the front desk hung up on me when I was calling about hotel transportation from the airport.. Upon arrive the hotel was really beautiful (there was a lot of construction going on around, so it was loud at times) after checking in we got a complimentary glass of wine (rose) definitely a cute touch. The room had a really nice view (see pictures attached). The sliding door for the balcony did NOT lock, it was broke. The restroom was large and spacious. The ONLY downfall about the restroom was the shower head, it was attached to the ceiling so water fell directly down. I don't like water in my face/hair so I was really irritated by that.. we managed to angle it slightly but it was so hard, since we were so short. Also the right sink kept clogging up. There were random footprints on the balcony, I was really wondering what position a person had to be in to get them there like that ahaha! Asked for double beds, got a single. It was a lot of minor inconveniences, that's what I based the ratings on BUT overall it was a nice room. read more

Amazing hotel, and trust me - I've stayed in many - so this really did impress. Rooms were amazing, everything you needed. Good comfy beds, good air-con, hot power showers, quality furniture. Fast wifi. The pool was excellent - super clean, and there are two pools in total, one heated and one not. Location was pretty good, walking distance to some things. Cinema and Whole Foods just a block away. A lovely waterfront walk right from the hotel. Where it really stood out for me is their great treatment for Diamond IHG members. Booked the basic room, got a free upgrade to a King Suite! Also they give free breakfast, which is any main item from the menu, free add-ons, and free breakfast drinks. Including a lobster and crab benedict, which must be the most fancy free breakfast I've gotten from my IHG Diamond membership so far. They also participate in the Kimpton secret password. The minor negatives? Although this might bother some more than me... - Paid-for breakfast is expensive! Freshly squeezed orange juice for $13 before taxes and tips? - Valet parking is $38 a day (and before taxes and tips). But if you're willing to walk 5 minutes, the Knight Center garage is $20/day. - My room, despite being on the 28th floor (out of 30 floors), was not soundproof. You could hear party boats passing by, as well as the railway warning bells from the street leel. - The rooms are very dark, not enough lighting. Might be bothersome for some. - No kettle or coffee machine in the room. For this level of hotel and price, one expects this. There is also no free tea and coffee facilities on-site after 10am. read more

If not for the horrific valet situation, this hotel is a 5 star experience. There's a great, upscale restaurant right on the property, and a fun bar on the 16th floor. The pool scene is more relaxing than "party," with a great view of the city and the water. However, the valet situation is truly atrocious. $44 for overnight valet is pretty standard in Miami. However, what's not standard is calling down for your car 15 minutes prior to leaving your room (as the property requests), and then waiting there for 20 minutes only to find your car has been sitting there the entire time. My husband and I ended up getting our own car, and I had to direct the traffic in order for him to pull out, as the car was wedged so tightly in between two other vehicles. The woman that works at the valet counter was beyond rude, and refused to even make eye contact with me when I knocked on the window. The entire car line is a nightmare, and it will definitely detract from any relaxing experience you might have had on property. It's shocking to me that Kimpton hasn't figured out a better way to run the valet. read more

We got a room on the east side of the epic hotel for a great view and nice small gathering for NYE. It was perfect! View was breathtaking with hundreds of boats with lights in the bay. You can see south beach in the distance. Music of the party on the deck area was great, good gives. Lobby had a photo boot. It was busy and vibrant. The New Years count down was awesome. But at closing their deck party at 1.07am they released tons and tons of balloons. I CAN NOT SUPPORT THIS AT ALL. Have you idiots been to the Everglades lately? Have you read the news about save the oceans? Just terrible whoever's idea this was. ZERO STARS for this stupid action. read more
