Given Miami's heat, the air conditioning in our room was extremely weak, and we couldn't lower the temperature below 70°F initially. The "queen" beds also felt much smaller than standard queen size, more like twin beds. The maintenance and housekeeping were equally disappointing. The bathroom sink was clogged, and housekeeping regularly failed to clean the room properly or restock toiletries unless we repeatedly asked. We had to request extra toilet paper, shampoo, and body wash multiple times. Every day, something was missed , one day there were no hand towels, another day the living area in our queen suite wasn't cleaned at all. We also asked for hangers several times and only received them after the fourth request. The night receptionist, I believe his name was Kevin, was especially unhelpful. When we complained about the AC and requested a room change, he told us someone would immediately bring hangers and assist us, but no one ever came. He also told us that we will get another room in the morning, but when we asked in the morning, the request was denied. Basically he just lied on our face to avoid any accountability during the night. Eventually, maintenance came to check the AC next day after we again asked another person on the reception ( i forgot his name but he was atleast helpful), But, initially they claimed it was fixed without improving anything. Only after we insisted that the cooling still wasn't working did they finally replace the control box, which allowed us to lower the temperature below 70°F. Overall, the stay involved constant inconvenience and unnecessary frustration. I genuinely don't understand how this hotel is rated 4 stars , neither the service nor the room quality reflects that standard. The only positive aspect is the beach access, but honestly, you're better off just purchasing a day pass rather than staying here. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

I have a little bit of a love affair with The National Hotel in Miami Beach. I recently spent a few…read moredays in Miami celebrating my birthday, and I had to go back. I have so many memories in this hotel that walking through the doors brings back an entire collection of nights, people, music and experiences. I've been to some incredible galas there, along with parties launching major liquor, wine and cigar brands, and I loved everything about those nights. I loved the people, I loved the music, I loved the energy, and I loved being surrounded by that beautiful old Miami Beach glamour. I actually dug deeper into the history of The National because I wanted to understand why I have such a strong attachment to this particular hotel. It opened in 1939 and was designed by Roy France, one of the architects who helped shape the Miami Beach skyline. What really struck me is that through its renovations, the hotel has continued to preserve so much of what made it special in the first place. The terrazzo floors, chrome fixtures, curved Art Deco details, the original architectural character and that incredibly long pool are still part of the experience. It was fully restored in 2014 and has continued to update its rooms and amenities without wiping away the personality of the original hotel. I can walk into The National and immediately feel like I'm in Miami Beach, not some newly manufactured version of Miami Beach. Even with all the changes that have happened around it, this hotel still has that elegance and sexiness that I remember. The music, the pool, the bar, the Art Deco details, the people coming and going, the whole atmosphere just works for me. I recently walked back into the hotel for my birthday and all of those old memories were still there for me, mixed in with whatever was happening that night. Even with the new and completely reinvented Delano right next door, I keep coming back to The National. I know the Delano has just gone through a massive renovation and reopened in 2026, but personally, I don't love what they've done with it. For me, it changed too much of the feeling that made the Delano special. The National doesn't make me feel that way. I walk through those doors and I still feel the elegance, the music, the energy and the memories, and that's exactly why I keep coming back.

We originally had king size room booked, but last minute one of my nieces ended up joining us so we had to upgrade to a suite. Jasmine from guest relations took care of us and made sure that our room was booked and confirmed. Upon arrival, the front entrance is where the valet assisted us, they took our car, and they made sure that our bags were all taken care of and brought up to our suite. When inside at the main desk to check in we were all greeted and with a delicious white sangria. The property at this resort is stunning! The three pools were absolutely stunning for this weekend getaway alongside the beautiful beach. Our favorite spot to hang out was on the guest lawn where guests were able to get lawn chairs and towels and sunbath for the afternoon, lots of trees surrounded the area, making it breezy and shady. Near the lawn there's a gelato station serving up delicious cold treats and surprisingly the price for these cold treats are very reasonable. There's a smaller pool in walking distance along with a poolside bar, which was very convenient for us. To make the weekend even more special, we were lucky enough to be staying here while the air and sea show was going on. The sound of fighter jets and helicopters filled the air while helicopters and planes did tricks and spins. Eden Roc on memorial Day weekend was relaxing, fun and memorable, and we can't wait to back!

TLDR: Got fully refunded $800+ for a nightmare 3-night stay, and if I was offered to stay here again for free, I still wouldn't do it. My partner and I booked a 3-night stay after reading some nice reviews of this being a "hidden gem" and also wanting to save a little money with accommodations for the first part of our trip. It's a 2-start hotel so we didn't expect much -- just a comfortable place to lay our heads down at night in the heart of South Beach. The nightmare started after we arrived and went to check-in to our King room and was told they "overbooked" us and only had a Queen available. This alone wouldn't have been anything worth writing about, but the room they gave us was over 80 degrees, had no AC, slight aroma of sewage, and the windows had no screens, so opening them immediately let in mosquitos. If you still decide to book this hotel after reading this and get Room 206, I will say a little prayer for you now. All of our concerns and complaints to the front desk fell on deaf ears. Zero customer service or attempt to correct the situation. We were told to come back to the front desk the next day (which is in another hotel btw), to see if any other guests cancel. We did this a couple times the next day, but it was more of the same thing talking in circles and honestly it made no sense to us. Shouldn't you be reaching out to us to resolve the situation and not be making it the guest's responsibility to constantly follow up with you? Again, it didn't seem like anyone was concerned with doing anything about it. That first night was ROUGH. The second night we knew what to expect and were dreading it all day, we asked if they had any fans to help circulate some air. They said they didn't. Later we asked again and were told to grab one from the restaurant downstairs which they use for outdoor seating. The fan looked like it was tossed off into the bushes so it was very dirty. We were pointed to a random bucket of towels we could use to clean it off. Cool, thanks. We brought the fan to the room and quickly realized why it was tossed into the bushes -- it was broken. Thankfully, it was actually "broken" in a way that was easily fixable by taking off the cover and re-securing the fan blades. I didn't know I had this skill to repair a fan, but thank you for bringing that out of me, I guess. It barely helped, but I guess 80 degree air that's blowing around is better than nothing. We also had the idea to prop open the room door with the closet door to help bring in some of the hallway AC. This actually helped to bring the room temperature down from 83 degrees to a whopping 80 degrees. For obvious safety reasons, we could not do this while we slept, so the nighttime sleep was still absolutely miserable. Doing this at all was still very sketchy as the stairwell leading up to the 2nd floor looks directly into the room and someone actually did open the door to look in while I was laying on the bed. Checkout was pretty amusing. They told us we owed a $117 balance for our stay. I have no idea how they were able to say that with a straight face after knowing what we had to deal with for 3 nights. When asked what this balance was for they had no answer. Then offered us 10% off for our trouble. Yeah... that's not going to cut it. We ended up getting a full refund through Agoda which we used for booking. Please... run for the hills. Literally book anything else and you're already a winner.

There was a giant bathroom with a jetted tub and another sink and a mini-fridge in the living area (where the sleeper sofa also resided). 2 closets, 2 TVs, an electronic safe, and double (entrance) doors rounded out the amenities. No ice machine on the premises though.
