Date 4/11/26 Kimpton is across the street from the Porsche experience. You cant miss it! I went about 7ish or close to sundown. The views from the roof were beautiful especially watching the sun go down. They have chair and couch seating. It's first come first serve but they take reservations for parties or big groups. The bartender Craig, was the best. Coolest guy. Drinks are expensive but hey where aren't the drinks in Atlanta? If you drink wine, I rectory buying to bottle instead of the glass and save little bit of money. You do pay at the hotel for parking but that's everywhere these days. Make sure to get a ticket upon entering because if you lose the ticket you'll have to pay $30 to get out. But on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 9. They have a cool DJ playing music and you can just come as you are and chill. For those that are single I think it's a cool place to hang out by yourself with no pressure. They have food you can order but I didn't get anything because we were there to drink LOL ...next time I'll definitely be back! read more

I stayed here to go to the Porsche Experience Center. I woke up and saw spots of blood on the bed, then saw bugs on the bed. I reported and put some of the bugs into a bag, and gave them to the front desk, as they looked like bed bugs in my opinion. They called and said they would look into it, and get back to me in 1 day after an exterminator visited. After not hearing back for almost a week, I called them to ask what was going on. They claimed the bugs were fleas and offered to comp 1 day. No written report was furnished to prove this. It has now been well over 2 weeks, and I haven't even heard about this comp day or how to redeem it. You decide for yourself if these are fleas or bed bugs in the pictures. Whatever they are, do not expect to be treated with respect. The laundry, dry cleaning of luggage, and stress of having to bag everything in trash bags was bad enough. read more

I love this place for a few reasons. The hotel is beautiful. Apron, has the best tasting wings. I swear they make it with love. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and inviting. I truly enjoy staying here. The only things I don't like is the shower door just doesn't make sense. Stepping inside the shower the glass door hits the shower and now the water is on the outside. I slept so good that I fell off my bed the 2 beds inside the room aren't full. It must be a XL twin which I'm not complaining I just never thought I'd hit the carpet hard. Three syllables: Blackout Drapes! I checked in past sunset and when I woke up the next morning, there was no sign of a sunrise. I got to work on my in room Nepresso and shoved the drapes aside. I was expecting overcast and a light drizzle, but it was bright out! I am convinced these blackout drapes helped me have a better night's rest. Also, the hotel is quieter than you would expect considering the proximity to the airport. The bathroom layout is a little wonky with some challenging sink area stowage. But, I am really here to get sleep and ogle Porsches from a distance. read more

The hotel is conveniently located close to the airport. The hotel is also an across the street from the Porsche experience. There are several restaurants across the street making it convenient for food. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. From the lobby to the rooms, everything is meticulously decorated. My favorite part has to be the huge tile lined shower. The only negative I can give is the gym. It is a nice large gym. However, there is only two treadmills and one was broken. I get it, stuff breaks. However, when the front desk was notified, they said oh well it's been broken for months. That is not acceptable. I skipped my workout the next morning because I did not have to want to wait in line for a treadmill and had a limited time before I had to get to the airport. read more

Kimpton Hotels are my go to for most of my hotel stays. Of all the Kimptons I've had the pleasure to stay at, this one is my least favorite. The room wasn't clean. I found hair in the sink and pieces of trash throughout the room. The cleaning staff was rude, pushing me out of the room and trying to enter when I had the do not disturb sign on the doorknob. The plus side was the food was good. I had wings and a hamburger. The cocktails were great. If you need to stay here because of the close proximity to the airport, skip the complimentary shuttle, take a taxi or rideshare instead if you don't want a long wait. read more

Came here for a conference and had a very comfortable stay. The room and hotel were nicely decorated. Modern, but with class. Our group rate was very competitive. Two issues prevent me from assigning five stars. First, the hotel shuttle system is a bit confusing; I'm not really sure why I had to check in, as there was no verification when it arrived. Just added unnecessary pressure. Second, check-in had a massive line, which took 20 minutes. Computer systems were down. The employees were nice and apologetic, but it was still a hassle. read more

My friend stayed here this past weekend, and it was an excuse for me to finally see what this establishment had to offer. There are two sides/entrances to the hotel. One is a metered parking lot, and the other side is a drop-off. I entered on that side, which also has the front desk. I walked in and was not greeted. I looked around for the lobby and discovered it was to the left. The layout of the hotel is a bit different. The lobby/lounge area was very cute and modern. Ample seating is provided. There is a work area table with stools as well. Impressive artwork. Chilled water and cups are provided. I think a little further back is the restaurant. I went up to the room. The three elevators are very spacious and quick. The room was at the very end of the hallway. When I entered the room, I was kind of surprised at how dark the room seemed even with the drapes open. The aesthetics of the room give manly. It's not an ounce of femininity at all. That's fine if that is your taste. There was a really nice lounge chair in the room. My favorite part of the room, actually. The beds are on a wood platform and low to the floor. Be careful not to stub your toe repeatedly like my friend did. I can't see someone elderly or handicapped staying here comfortably, though. The room has all of the usual amenities, but the most astonishing thing was the bathroom layout. There is no separate bathroom. There is a wood partition, and behind it is the sink. Next to the sink is a frosted glass door shower and a separate enclosed toilet closet. This room is for a single person or maybe a couple. Not for roommates. There is no bathroom privacy. If I had known that, I wouldn't have suggested this hotel for my friend and her two teenage daughters. The saving grace for this hotel is the rooftop bar and watching the planes land so closely to the hotel. It is definitely a vibe. It made us forget about the layout of the room. Would I come back. Yes, but alone. A nice staycation might be in order. read more

Reserved a 400+ sq ft king bed room (essentially wanted the tub). Upon a late arrival, was downgraded us to a 200 sq ft king bed with no tub. The keycard didn't work so had to make the exhausted walk back to front to fix the keycard. The room was freezing cold (I'm not going to ever complain about this) ....but there was no blanket. Just a thin bedsheet. No shampoo or conditioner, just body wash. This isn't a motel 6. We are IHG diamond elite members. Kimptons are usually top notch and stunning hotels. Unfortunately they failed us. Initially was suppose to be a week stay but we decided to stay a night and book elsewhere for the remainder of the time. read more

Stayed here to be close to the Porsche Experience Center. A+ for that. We had two trackside rooms. One room needed TV maintenance and a new mini fridge which they did bring up that day. Also, we were on the 6th floor and in the evenings on the 8th floor rooftop bar a DJ could be heard through the ceiling. Luckily he did not play all night. Also, neither room key worked for the parking lot not even one time. We brought the ticket in each time. Overall, mid reviews. Might stay again for location alone. read more

We visited Atalanta for a convention. We wanted to bring our dogs with us. We found this place and gave it a try. This place is a dog friendly hotel. It has an on-site restaurant and bar. The dog walk zone is off to side of main entrance. We really enjoyed our time here. The dog friendly room we had was clean. The room did not have a bad dog smell. They keep the rooms smelling fresh. The check in is small as any other hotel. Same for check out. Luckily for us the location is close to local pizza places and close to our convention. They do offer a military discount. read more

Stayed here for Porsche school. Was told "includes breakfast " but it doesn't. You get a "credit" towards breakfast. But if you're hungry. It'll cost you $60 and the breakfast wasn't awesome. Then. If you're not super careful. They ignore the "credit" and just charge it to your room. I caught it at checkout. My "included breakfast " was just charged to my room. The shuttle driver that I "experienced " was super unsafe. The guy literally road raged on people while shouting "you don't EFFING cut me off mother Effer!!" With me and two other guys in the van being bounced around like popcorn!! Dude. I paid for a Porsche GT-3 RS track experience with a professional STUNT DRIVER an hour before getting into that shuttle. I felt safer doing 120 around a hairpin turn with rubber screaming and engine roaring than I did with that clown merging into traffic while shouting obscene language. It was unreal. I thought I was being pranked. He literally jackrabbited stop lights and used the gas and brake pedals like in off switches. I spilled my water all over myself. This was on a 10 minute ride back from BBQ dinner. What the heck ?! It was too much. Staff at the hotel were friendly and polite. The front desk lady fixed the "mistake" with the breakfast bill. She seemed genuinely concerned when I described my shuttle experience. And she listened and said all the right things. But I dunno if anything would actually be done. The room was clean. The hotel tap water tasted like it was filtered through the shuttle seat cushions. But if you ask the front desk they'll give you a bottle of water. Though if you're not a camel I'd suggest you get your own case of bottled water. (Take an uber ...) I've stayed in hotels in Echo Park Los Angeles where there was a gang murder next door. I've stayed in hotels where drunken men watch blaring porn at 4 am. I've had other unsafe shuttle experiences. I've had other suspect billing "mistakes ". I've stayed in far grosser rooms. I've stayed in far nicer rooms. But. My boss paid for this. It cost me nothing and yet I left irritated and irked and feeling like it wasn't an awesome experience. Main reason I wrote this is because Yelp asked me and I was like. "Oh. Yeah. That wasn't super awesome ..." So yeah. Maybe put a camera in the shuttle ? Maybe train your restaurant staff on your breakfast "credit" process and maybe don't say "breakfast included " when the credit is enough for a fruit cup and bagel. Maybe put water bottles in the room if your water in the tap tastes like shuttle farts. Maybe. Or not? Maybe you do just fine with all the traffic you get from being next to a super cool Porsche facility. But the thing is .... If you're literally 100ft from a world class luxury car brand experience center. You gotta be on your A game. What I got was C- graded on a curve. Just one dudes opinion. Overall the hotel is clean, showers are great, and the facilities are nice. However, since it's an "airport hotel" that offers complimentary shuttle service, the shuttle service system is quite flawed. For the airport pickup it was a long, over 40 minute wait despite using their shuttle website and the phone conversations prior that kept saying "he's on the way" and "he'll be there soon". Then when we tried to give a 45 minute notice for drop off to the airport, we were told by the reception to just get an Uber because he's behind. We go downstairs and wait for our Uber when we see multiple frustrated families are waiting for the shuttle and the front kept telling them, "He'll be right here." I would look elsewhere if you're trying to get to and from the airport efficiently, but otherwise enjoyed my stay. read more

Called hotel for pickup. They put me on hold and then hung up on me. When I did finally get somebody to answer, 30 minutes later , they were rude. From the time I got off the plane to the time they arrived it was 50 minutes. I won't be staying here again. It would be nice if the front desk seemed to care about its customers. read more

We stayed for a quick night as we were traveling through Atlanta. It was perfect because we have three large dogs which the hotel accommodates. The service was excellent. Our room was clean and we got a great nights rest. We definitely will be using Kimpton as our go to hotel in the future. read more

Delta provided a night at Kimpton Overland due to me missing my flight. I arrived really exhausted and was happy to be staying at the Kimpton Overland. Things I noticed in my brief stay: -Nespresso vertuo coffee in the rooms -Complimentary bottled water -The shampoo, conditioner etc is Atelier Bloem which is made by by MALIN+GOETZ -Clean, modern room -Bed was comfortable So I can't attest to the other aspects of this hotel but I was very happy during my quick stay. read more

They market the bed in the room as a double, it is a full. The hotel itself has seen better days. The fact that we found a roach says a lot about the cleanliness factor. The bug, the dirty linen was one thing. Having the staff enter your room with the DND sign hanging in clear view is another. They said they came in to make the bed only for us to find the mattress pad on top of the bed itself and not on the mattress. Of course now everything is suspect. It appeared to us that some of the adult beverage we had in the room had also been drank. We checked out and changed hotels. We were going to let the dirty carpets, mirrors and broken safe slide. Entering the room unauthorized is a red flag. Two days after I checked out, they were placing holds/authorizations on my credit card that no one could explain so I called in a fraud alert to my bank. Beware of this place. Skip them and just book at the Marriott Renaissance! Clean, organized, no bugs, great food and a stellar staff. The shuttle is the nicest thing about the hotel. The food is mediocre. My omelette was fried in oil that was too hot so the edges were crispy. The grits were cold and a lump of gelatinous mess. No butter offered and they automatically add a 18% service charge. If they didn't, you may not tip cause the wait staff was not friendly. Avoid this Kimpton at all costs. It is not like the others. No one could explain the $2800.00 hold on an account that appeared to be "closed" because I had checked out. After check out, almost $3,500 worth of authorizations were ran on my card. Food, gross. Had a meeting here today. So this review is solely based off the lobby area which they call the living room. This hotel is really cute, but it was sooooo cold in the lobby/reception area. The Kimpton overlooks the Porshe test track and within close proximity to the airport. I know they have a really nice shuttle that transports guest to and from the airport free of charge. Definitely will return to experience the rooftop bar. read more

Perfect short stay. Only thing that bothered me was that there were water rings of a used cup on the table between beds and leaving the hotel for outings the key card would not work, but if you hit help button they open the gate. The worst customer service experience I've ever had. I questioned the amount charged to my card at check in, and the front desk staff responded by telling me to get out of the hotel or she would call the police. The attitude was surreal -- the Kimpton clearly allows its employees to treat customers however they want. The IHG Guest Relations people I spoke with at the 800 number were very supportive but it still took several phone calls to get my refund. read more

We needed a hotel near the airport so found Kimpton Overland on Hotel Tonight for a deal. And WOW! Had no idea Porsche had a hotel with a race track and a rooftop bar that overlooked the airport. The front desk was helpful and very pleasant. They hand you a complimentary water bottle when you check in. The valet is a steep $25 per night but guess we should have expected this from any Atlanta hotel. The room was 100% with a great view on the seventh floor. There's also a fancy espresso machine in room for you to caffeinate at any time. Wish we had known about the amazing rooftop bar/restaurant beforehand or we would totally have had dinner here. You can sit there for hours just watching airplanes land and take off! read more

Sharing a space on the perimeter of the Atlanta airport next to the Porsche Experience Center, this hotel has recently rebadged under the Kimpton umbrella. I'd have preferred if it was under the Marriott "Autograph Collection" brand but Kimpton/IHG picked it up instead. Their shuttle bus at the ATL "zone 1" involved a 40 minute wait, partly because the driver parked in the first space in "zone 2" and I didn't see him until he was leaving. It's a black bus, so it's easy to miss at night. Next time, I'll just Lyft over. Very long wait to check in as there was only one check in clerk at the counter when 7 people poured off the bus. 20 minutes of standing was annoying, especially as two other clerks arrived just as I got to the front of the queue, which is my poor luck. I have no status with the IHG chain, so my studio on the second floor was pretty standard. Clean, comfortable and I had a view of the Porsche center and the end of the ATL runway. The bed was firm, the work desk had plentiful power outlets and the shower was great. Large closet with a room safe that easily secured my laptop as I went out all day Saturday. Pluses: . I enjoyed the view. . Clean and comfortable room with a roomy shower that had lots of pressure. . Lots of good towels. . Curtain blocked all the light from the rising Sun in the morning. . Absolutely no noise from the runway. . Walking distance to the Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House and some other fast food. . Free wifi. Other than the long wait, here were the other problems: . There was no creamer with the Nespresso machine, either Friday night when I checked in or Saturday night after the room was serviced. . Several slamming doors in the morning, one was hard enough that it made my coffee cup shake. . Housekeeping staff in the hallway and noise from the children in the next room. . Beers at their bar were expensive at $8 each. . Wifi was slow. It would have been nice if the rooftop bar was open Sunday morning as the weather had cleared up, but they are closed "for the season." Met friends for Happy Hour at the Rooftop Bar only to find out the rooftop is not open for another 30 days despite the hotel website clearly indicating it is open. We would have never chosen this site had we known that. The website is not only misleading it is just plain not true. My husband was put up here for several weeks for work in January/February, and I spent several nights here myself when I went to visit him during that time. I was nervous because of some of the nightmare reviews on here, but it was better than I expected and I was mostly satisfied with our stay here. PROS: -It's very close to the airport, which was super convenient for us. -Clean, modern feel. -Comfortable bed. -Front desk attendant was able to help me print something out since there's no business center (see cons list below). -Bar downstairs if you need food/drink and don't want to leave the building. -Small gym and indoor pool, better than nothing. -Fridge and microwave in room. CONS: -No separate bathroom, just a half-wall separating the sink/shower area from the bedroom. Not a problem for us, but I imagine would be quite weird if you're not super close with the person you're sharing a room with. Also made for excess moisture in room. -Cleaning crew didn't always replenish items such as Q-tips, lotion, etc. -Not a great parking situation if you have a car with you. There was a gate you had to buzz in to be let through and I'm not sure if there is a cost associated with it as well. It was free for my husband's crew, but I believe they normally charge guests. -Limited room service. -No business center for printing, etc. (front desk attendant was kind enough to print something out for me) Overall, it was a fine stay. There are far worse places he could have been put up for 3 weeks. That said, I don't think I'd choose to stay here myself unless there was a need to be close to the airport. It was a bit of a drive to get into downtown ATL and traffic was not fun. I also can't speak to the value, since we didn't pay for the room ourselves this trip. read more

The Kimpton on the outside is a very impressive hotel. When you walk into the lobby you're still very impressed; with the seating, decor, and artwork. We had a very late check in to catch a flight the next morning. The staff was very helpful and kind to us. After checking us in, they offered us water and told us the shuttle times. All of it initially was quite impressive and great. Then we got to our room. I'm not sure who designed the rooms of this hotel, but it's too modern and maybe too Eurocentric in the design. Upon entering the room you can see they economize every bit of space, which is great. However, there is no wall or privacy that separates the bathroom from the main part of the room. Except, a small divider that has artistic cutouts on it, so it's providing almost no real privacy between the shower and beds. If you're a couple the room wouldn't be a problem at all. But as family members, we both wanted a bit more privacy. If they added an extra part that slid out to be a more thorough divider it would be much better. There were also som light cleanliness issues. I also didn't like the large bottles of body wash, conditioner, and shampoo in the bathroom. It's too easy for anyone to meddle with them before new guest come. I'm sure it might help cut down cost. But it's kind of gross when you think how many people come through hotels. It seems like something an Airbnb would do, not a hotel. I don't think I'd stay here again unless I was with my husband. But not with my sisters or mom. The staff and the fact the room had a microwave saved them or I would give this hotel lower stars. read more

So far not the best experience . Husband is hosting his office party here for his staff and their significant others . We booked a suite with an arrangement made for an early check in due to it still being a work day. We arrived at 2:30 and there was no such accommodation. The kicker is, it is now 4:30 and all of the staff that flew in earlier with us have their rooms , while we are still waiting for our suite. We were told we could have a drink at the bar and they would give us a $30 voucher Apparently they were full last night and clean the smaller rooms first . Not impressed with the Hotel one but . The staff are really nice, but the $30 voucher is kind of a slap in the face when we are paying for a lot of people to drive here . I may change my view in this later, but you will have to wait and see . read more

Just a note of thanks to the hotel and staff for covering us - we got caught in Atlanta during a horrendous storm a day or two ago- all flight connections were delayed and eventually cancelled. The hotel accommodated us, nice room, clean, fed us (decent room service late) and was very gracious. Thank you for being such good hosts on short notice. (PS You don't need to own a Porsche to stay there, though they obviously work with the Porsche Experience track nearby). Usually "trendy" hotels leave me cold- inexperienced, incompetent and overpriced. This staff was first rate, the facility was nice and we got on our way at 4.30am the next morning without a hitch. read more

I blindly chose this based on the need to stay in ATL on night and be close to the airport for the morning. The reviews made this place sound like luxury which is absolutely wrong. The place tries but it is t a resort or a fine hotel. The rooms were fine, actually no complaints. The restaurant had a limited menu but was well prepared and tailored to our needs. The desk staff had a bit of improvement needed. Hustle it up a bit - there are several of you working! And be more professional (cop less attitude). But the absolute worst part of this place is truly the location. Not the Porsche test track - everything else around this place is lackluster. There are three liquor stores within 1/8 mile. I really wouldn't stay here again. read more
