How this place is still open is wild. 20+ minutes to get a small coffee. Employee who took our order was clearly not bothered to keep her mask on. Keep saying she'd get our coffee but did not for a long period of time. Overall terrible service. No could be bothered to do anything and couldn't even get one of the orders right. This place is super cute! I am always searching for a place to do some work on my laptop where I can sit for extended periods of times, enjoy a meal, and fuel up on caffeine. I was super happy to find this cafe, which has a nice sized seating area, with a mix of regular tables and bench seating. The benches were comfy with lots of cute decorative pillows. There were PLENTY of outlets near by, so working on my laptop was easy. It had a zen atmosphere with radio music playing at a good volume. Decor was adorable! I had a delicious sandwich (the sandman- yum) and when I was done, ordered an iced caramel latte with almond milk, which was also great. I saw some reviews speaking about lack of staff at the coffee counter (there are two counters- one coffee/cafe counter and a Joe's heroe's counter) - and wanted to both confirm that observation as well as provide clarity. When I went in, there was no one standing directly behind the coffee bar - however- I simply moved to the next counter (Joe's heroes) - and asked if I could have a latte. The staff was very nice and quick to serve! I think maybe the other people didn't realize it was just one register? Not sure why you would stand there confused instead of asking the staff that are all right there! The takeaway of this long review is that I am happy to have found this spot and look forward to using it as my new work from home outlet :) Also- one of the staff informed me this is a local family owned business, which makes me even happier to support and provide an honest review! read more

It seems that people who also gave this place 3 stars or less has had a similar experience to mine. I walked in on a Sunday around noon. Not a single person was in the place or at the counter. After waiting 5 minutes, I walked around the corner to the deli side. A woman and a young guy were behind the counter and the woman said to order there. I put my credit card into the card reader but before she finished completing the transaction she leaves to go to the other side to make my coffee and says to meet her there- so I had to lean over the counter, swiveled the screen around and complete the payment myself which is weird (not just signing my name either, like actually fully put my order through) When I got to the cafe side, she's on the phone the entire time, talking about her night out and how she's "forced" to be working with "the kid". Because she's trying to balance the phone to her ear, tell her story, etc. the process was way slower than it should normally take. To top it off, it was terrible. It definitely wasn't what I ordered or she was too distracted by her phone conversation that something was missed when making it. Any other time or place, if something tastes a bit off I would've politely asked about it, but since this experience was already so poor I just left. I'm not one to write reviews, but this really ticked me off and after seeing so many others experience this too, just goes to show this place has a lot to learn. Put a sign up if you're only taking orders on the deli side, complete people's payment order fully, don't take personal calls and shit talk the other employees and actually execute the order properly. read more

I'm so happy there's finally a cafe with wifi and real food in the area. In high school and college, Starbucks was the only option to study on Long Island. I'm personally sick of overpriced, overrated food/drink, and the general corporate atmosphere. It's nice to finally have a place to get work done that has real food and reasonable prices. My wife and I arrived at Kim's cafe on a Sunday at about 130pm. We walked right into the cozy cafe area and began looking at the menu board. There was no one else in the cafe. Not even an employee. My wife and I waited there for maybe 5 min before we decided to go around the corner to the deli area. There's no signage or anything stating that you can order coffee from the deli but we figured we would see if anyone was working at the cafe. When I finally had the opportunity to order (probably another 5 min or so) the woman behind the counter said we could order coffee there so we did. I ordered and paid for the coffee. The woman asked one of the employee to take orders, I assume so that she could go make the coffee. I have been sitting in the cafe now for almost 20 min. No one has come back here to make coffee. At this point I decided to walk back up front to see what the hold up was. I was greeted by the same very kind woman who openly admitted that she forgot to come back to make the coffee. I 100% appreciate honesty. Listen, ppl are human and make mistakes. That's fine. However, I think it's important that this location decide what it's identity is going to be. Sometimes people just want to walk into a cafe. But if everyone is over at the deli, it's confusing. I also understand business. When one side of the biz is slow, you flex labor around to ensure you can meet the demand. But waiting 30 min for a cup of coffee is a little ridiculous. I recommend this place truly discover its identity and ensure it can handle the clientele from both sides of the biz. read more

This place is weird, they put a lot into making it look like a cozy coffee shop and forgot to staff the place and learn to make drinks. That said, I do really appreciate that there is a coffee shop in the neighborhood and hope that they can make this place work. When I went there was a sign saying to order at the joint sandwich shop just around the corner, the entire place smelled like deli meats, and there were literally no other people in the place. Drip coffee was terrible and the guy from the deli who made my latte seemed like he had never done this before. Besides that decor was nice, there were plenty of tables, outlets, and wifi....so I'd give this place a chance again. read more

A delightful addition of a new cafe on the block! Free wifi (just got 60MB down /26MB up), good coffee, and fun space. I like their decor. They even have a few boxes of board games. I wish they'd open earlier and close later though. read more

I really wanted to like this place bc it's conveniently located right by my son's school but had 2 not so pleasant experiences recently. My first time there a few weeks ago I was met by unfriendly worker, she was very impatient with me bc I wasn't quite sure what I wanted/where to place my order (cafe side or hero side). I wound up getting a caramel latte and crumb cake. The girl who made my latte was nicer than the woman who took my order and rang me up. Latte and cake were good. Just went back today, ordered a rainbow cookie latte which is written on their chalkboard menu on the cafe side and was told by the woman working with a condescending laugh "I don't know how to make that" I responded ok how about a caramel latte? She then had some other guy make my latte, he hands it to me hot and overflowing with foam and says they were all out of caramel but he gave me caramel milk? (Not sure what that is) in my latte instead. Needless to say the latte has no flavor and is not very well made . Very disappointed and will likely not be returning here. read more

The worst experience I have ever had in a coffee shop if you can even call it that. This place is connected to a hero shop that was in itself not clean. I guess the workers that were supposed to work the cafe side weren't there so our drinks had to be made by someone that didn't know what they were doing so much so that they had to call someone to give them instructions on how to make the drinks. I had ordered an iced rainbow cookie latte and when she gave me my drink it was scalding hot and all the ice she had put in it melted. She then went to get a different cup with ice and poured my drink into that cup and gave me both the original and the new one that she poured over the ice. The drink itself tasted horrible and was so light in color that I'm not even sure there was any espresso in it. My sister had ordered a hot honey almond latte and the worker steamed the milk for an absurdly long time and "spooned" honey out of a jar with a fork and just put the hot milk and honey in a cup. There was no espresso. We then left and my sister attempted to pour out her drink and when she took the top off it was overflowing and scalding hot so much so that she got burned. If there were no workers that knew how to make the drinks, it should not have been open. Will never be going back and I don't think they should even be in business. read more
