The sourdough bread is so incredibly crusty and delicious, coming from my favorite Portuguese place in Farmingville. My husband said the French onion soup was the best he's ever had....Not to overlook the ambience, which is so welcoming and relaxing. This truly adds a nice touch to the overall dining experience. Stace and her daughter Katherine add so much love and life to this beautiful restaurant. We celebrated my sister's milestone birthday there last September in a cozy private room upstairs. It was beyond spectacular from beginning to end. We continue to return to Sunflower Cafe and Bakery quite often, and always have such a pleasant and warm experience! They also offer a wonderful weekend brunch menu on Sunday's with truly creative and delicious entrées. I believe they are approaching their 3 year anniversary in November, and it's not surprising that they are able to thrive and grow in such a tough economic environment. The seats are wooden and some found them uncomfortable. The food was good. The striped bass was really tasty. The spinach was delicious with a hint of garlic. The au poivre sauce was a little too salty (2 people stated) but not inedible. If you are the type that orders salads or appetizers then you might be ok with a long wait. While I was looking over the deli options with my CERTIFIED service dog, the employee abruptly and very loudly asked - within earshot of other customers - what service my dog provides. While businesses are legally allowed to ask limited questions, I answered immediately and appropriately. For context, my service dog is fully trained, certified, and had just flown on a plane with me. He's also 105 lbs, so he's a big boy. Despite this, the employee continued to question me, spoke to me in a condescending manner, and went as far as saying she herself has a service dog for her "actual" disability - clearly implying that I was lying or exaggerating. This was humiliating, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. I do not need to disclose my disability to anyone, nor should I be interrogated after already complying with the law. I was so taken aback that I decided to leave immediately. Neither my dog nor I felt welcome, and I was uncomfortable continuing the interaction. We were former customers, but after this experience, I can't bring myself to return. No one should be treated this way - ESPECIALLY over something that is legally protected and deeply personal.

With that said, I tried one of their Spring Specials, the Biscoff Bliss Latte. It was a little sweet, but the hints of Biscoff, Nutella, and cookie butter were prominent.
