I cannot recommend Kim's Jewelery in Summerville. When taking a piece I bought 2 months ago from them for repair, I asked for an appraisal. They balked at my request for an appraisal. I was told it might not be worth over $500 and not worth insuring. Completely devastated by their comments, as I had spent thousands for the piece only to hear that it wasn't worth anything. I congratulated them in their profit and told them to fix it. I was upset, feeling taken advantage of, and cheated. I cannot do business with people I don't trust their opinion and expertise. At purchase they sold me on the piece, then in this visit they gloated how it wasnt worth anything and ganged up on me that they never would have said otherwise. On top of being taken advantage of, their condescending, smug attitude is difficult to overlook. I was looking for a jeweler, not just for one purchase but to have a wishlist for future items. I understand they need to make a profit but items are heavily overpriced and the same items can be found elsewhere for less. In the heat of the moment I left my repair with them but wish I hadn't. After pickup it will be the last time I trust them with my patronage. Lastly, the joy of buying real jewelry, something beautiful and to represent more than itself has been tainted with unnecessary ugliness. Upon picking up the item and its appraisal, it was fixed and the appraisal was within range of what was spent for the piece of jewelry. A prime example of horrible customer service and the attitude of the staff. I expect honesty and decency from those I do business with, especially touted experts. read more

I'd like to thank kim and her wonderful staff for re-plating my pendant it looks brand new. They also helped me order the perfect chain because I had some specific wants. Kim went above and beyond the call of great service and I could not be more grateful to have such great people in my neighborhood. I know they also offer same day ring sizing in most cases which is super convenient. I highly recommend checking them out for engagement rings, fashion jewelers and custom work. I am happy I picked Kim's Fine Jewelry to look for a locket for my 5 year old Goddaughter. I not only found the locket but Kim even made the pictures small enough to fit into the locket. My Goddaughter will be so happy to have a picture of her late Godfather. I also had some rings Appraised, they appraised the rings as I picked out the locket and I was able to carry the three rings home with me and the written appraisal was so very complete. Took my engagement ring in to be resized. Kim's had it done the next day! I had such a great experience that I brought my ring back to get an appraisal. In just a few minutes the appraisal was complete. I stopped in an hour before they closed but Kim's had my appraisal in my email the next morning along with a paper copy in the mail. I would not recommend to anyone to use this jeweler. I had taken in a diamond and gold pendant to replace the chain it was on. The jeweler actually DRILLED out the holes where the chain went!! I have owned the pendant for over 15 years and have had the chain replaced several times. It should have been a simple procedure that only required cutting the end of the chain, pulling thru pendant and soldered back on the end. The final result....I filed a claim with my jewelry insurance to have a QUALIFIED jeweler do the repairs. read more

Kim's Fine Jewelry is a fine family owned establishment. I brought in a ring to be resized and received it back within 48hrs. Their team had no idea why I needed it resized they just knew automatically the sentimental value was very high. They had concerns about my stone and after speaking with the master jeweler, I was assured they would take the best care of my ring. When i received the ring back, I was in awe at its beauty.
